Marriott San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

From our vantage point, we did not have any kind of view to ocean, but we did not seek a place with a view just a place clean in upkeep, close to pier (less then a 5 min walk to pier) and as far as hotel maintenance was we were happy with the cleanliness of place the room, lobby and inside area. We would rather spend our money on a clean hotel and a great staff then a place with a view. The view we get is when we walk to the pier. This is the second time we used Marriott Hotels and we are happy with what we have experienced with them

My wife and I went to visit our son who is working in San Francisco. We visited Fishermen's Wharf, Pier 39 (sea lions), Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Lombard Street, Muir Woods and lots of restaurants. The people of San Francisco were very friendly. The architecture in San Francisco alone is worth the trip. I highly recommend going over to Sausalito and catching the ferry back at sunset. The view is absolutely beautiful.

I found used tea bag inside the ice bucket. It was very disgusting. They did not clean the room well. When i asked for made up the room. The bed are still unmade. It was very disappointed for Marriott's quality.

Well located to Fisherman's Wharf, the Embarcadero, etc. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. A very good value. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.

S.F. and Fisherman's Wharf was fantastic, we rented bikes to ride over the bridge to Saucelito.

Our room looked absolutely brand new. Clean, great design, spacious, close to the Wharf. Perfect!

This is a nice hotel and close to fishermans wharf, ghirardelli square and other tourist attractions. However, with the price we paid for per night, there was no free wifi and other small standard amenities like toothbrush and shower cap. The room was clean and decent but the toilet makes a loud annoying noise when you flush because of too much pressure I think. Other than that, it was okay.

Pros: Location is Fabulous Recently renovated - looks great! Mostly clean - some mildew in the shower Did I mention Location??!! Cons: My only complaint is the parking fee. You know your guests are driving to your location. You know they are paying a hefty sum of money to stay in your hotel. Parking is $75 per night (including tax) which is RIDICULOUS!!! It would be different if there was an option - like they had a lot you could use and the fee was for those who prefer valet service. This made it feel like we were being extorted. We've already paid for a room, but have to buy a room for the car as well.

Walking distance to everything. Pier 39, restaurants ,Starbucks, tourist sites.

Access to pier 39 in 3 min. walk, which gives you access to all tours and activities. Safe to walk at night, plenty of restaurant options around. Win-Win

I believe this hotel was better when I came to SFO in 2007. There was no pool and gift shop. The furniture in the lobby was not too appealing together --- it was a mash up.

This is a super clean and comfortable place to stay. For the money you pay the parking is expensive. $59 a night plus tax. The only view we had was of the Holiday Inn. Also for the money that they charge one would think that the 2 bottles of water in the room would be complimentary, nope, $4.50 each plus tax. If you want comfort and not concerned about the view then it's a nice place to stay.

I enjoyed the hotel and the service was very friendly.

Excellent location, close to everything. Beautiful interior design, clean. The only down was the $56 per night parking valet charge.

Staff was very helpful. Free coffee and flavored water daily in lobby. Great locstion

Hardly in the room as there is so much to see, but the rates were too expensive and the booking travel company didn't tell you you have to pay to park at the hotel you're already spending lots to stay at.

The hotel overall was nice. I was a bit surprised they do not offer Wifi though. You had to pay $12/day if you wanted it in your room.

very good experience here, check in was easy, staff were very friendly and professional. thank you.

The Marriott at the wharf was great The location is perfect for getting to all the major sites in sf. The hotel is clean and the staff helpful A car is not needed...and although food everywhere in SF is expensive there is lots offered Room wifi would be a plus but the lobby has lots of sit and stay ammenditites Would definitely stay again and compared to some of the other hotels I looked at once I saw them it would have been disappointing!

room size is ok with one kid. also not to far, not to close to travel spots.

Dear Nipaporn, I am sorry that your room was not cleaned properly. I'll be sure to bring it to my team's attention. Please understand that this is the exception and not the norm here at the Marriott Fisherman's Wharf. I wish you and your family a fantastic and prosperous New Year! Dear Terry, Thank you for your review of our recent stay with us. I'll have my engineering team look into adjusting the door closers to minimize the noise while still providing adequate force to secure the door automatically. I hope you enjoyed your bike ride over the Golden Gate. (Something I still have to get off my bucket list...)

Thank you for your business and recent review of your stay. We find that we want to minimize the "clutter" on our bathroom vanities to ensure our guests have plenty of room for their own toiletries. We do offer complimentary dental kits and shower caps, but they are request item. Thank you again for your stay and hope you have a Happy Holidays!
