The rooms need to be upgraded, but the rest of the hotel is fine. The shower in 601 e.g., is difficult to maneuver. The hotel is not what what it used to be.

This is our 3rd stay at the Taj. It’s a gem for the price and location. Don’t expect Ritz Carlton amenities. But you’re not paying $1000/night. Most of the rooms are around $250-300. At that price, it’s a stone cold bargain.

It is an elegant and cozy hotel. The bed is very comfortable. The room is nicely decorated with every details taken care of. Breakfast is delicious.

The restaurant and bartender were beyond PHENOMENAL, food delicious and such amazing energy and care at the bar!! The hotel room, however, had a horrible smell. I woke up to the worst sewer smell coming out of my bathroom. So overall decent stay- I will definitely come back to visit the bar but probably wouldn’t stay in the rooms.

Great boutique

Rooms were decent sized and very well appointed. Not much in terms of views but that was fine. Staff was excellent and the cafe / lounge is very good. Any concerns about the neighborhood are long gone. Was great to walk around. Good to see SF bouncing back!
