Nice size rooms friendly staff with spot on restaurant recommendations

The room was missing the doors to the closet and the space for refrigerator was empty. The AC unit (window) was noisy. The window shades were ripped. The only good thing about this hotel is an interesting patio/indoor space with games etc but no bar/cafe. Overall, the property is a bit run down and needs major renovation.

I booked Hotel Zephyr through Orbitz, which is my preferred site for vacation deals in good hotels like Zephyr which is conveniently located, was clean, family friendly, game room, fire pits outdoors & lobby provided pleasant social vibe. I will revisit SFO & stay in Hotel Zephyr again.

Great hotel, excellent staff, located in a great area near Fisherman’s Wharf with plenty to do nearby.

staff & service was great. The $140 amenity fee is terrible. $140 for smores and water??? please for that reason i will never stay at the zephyr again

Hotel is extremely family friendly and as a tourist, you can’t beat the location. I had a couple minor issues, there isn’t a fridge in the room and the hair dryer was broken. But besides that,I would stay at this property again.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! I'm a Premier Orbitz traveler. Typically I don't review, but the Zephyr is an exception. We booked the "deluxe" room and paid the $292.40 fee mainly because of the "Parking Available" and the "good" review (4.0/5). At check-in, the clerk informed us of another $110 for parking and "amenities." I asked to cancel the reservation and was told to call Orbitz. I called around 6 pm, and a friendly agent tried to intercede. She came back (apologetic) and said the hotel would not give back the $292.40. We stayed and paid the extra $110 for the night, $58 for the parking the rest for the so-called "amenity," a marshmallow and one chocolate. Please note: It's an amenity if we choose it. It's a surcharge if you force it. The room was not deluxe; the bathroom sink would not drain (broken release), a dirty wall with four large screw holes. The cheap toilet had a rusted bolt exposed on the floor — the towels were overused rags. I have pictures. Orbitz should allow picture. Because we were concerned about safe parking. The clerk's response was, "well, take it out of the car then" Guess which room she gave us? The furthest possible from parking, two blocks away, Room 443. We complained when Orbitz asked us to comment on the $402.40 night. They shared our words. The Zephyr insisted we got a deluxe room. Instead of offering a resolution, their last words were, "We hope you find a hotel to your liking." I'll book the Fairmont San Francisco next time, $299!

Amazing view. So so room service. Very comfortable bed.

Great stay, would stay again.

The game room and outdoor courtyard areas were wonderful. After a full day of exploring San Francisco it was nice to have an option for relaxing other than just being holed up in your room watching tv. Our sons aged 12 & 19 loved the ping pong and pool tables as well as the outdoor games and fire pit areas. The nautical/cargo ship theme of the hotel was quirky and fun and we loved every bit of it. Would highly recommend this hotel for families.

Nice hotel close to fishermans warf, the bathrooms were super tiny and the AC seemed to be controlled not to go cooler than 74 degrees. Everything around the hotel closes super early including the on ground firepit area which was such a bummer since there was nowhere else to go. If you like corky and unique the decor is great. Rooms were loud and you could here all the outside nice including road traffic and elevators all night long. The upgraded bay view room was not worth the price.

Hello Larissa. I am sorry to read of the experience you had while visiting us. I know that we had some other issues while you were here and apologize that I was not aware of the items you referenced in your feedback. It is correct that we do not have refrigerators in rooms automatically but we do our best to accommodate requests and deliver these items when requested. I am sorry that we did not know that you needed one. Thank you for letting me know about ripped shades as I will review that room, I only wish that we would have had the opportunity to address during your time with us. We hope that the rest of your travels were good and that you are well.

Hi John, Thank you for the opportunity to respond, and I appreciate you mentioning our service score here and I would like to point out the two reviews that came in after yours which both have perfect marks. Service is at the fore front of what we do here and any time we make a mistake we make sure to correct things to our guests expectations. In your particular case, your expectations were not fair at all and you are not telling the full story. You wanted to cancel your reservation because parking wasn't free. Its posted on Orbitz, its posted on our website and its posted again when you arrive at the hotel. Next you claimed you booked a room with a balcony - you clearly did not. We had even offered a balcony room to you complimentary but you chose not to take it. I unfortunately can't make people happy when the choose not to be. As a local, I do want all our guest's to the city to find a hotel to their liking, its good for our citizens and our industry. I hope you are able to do so.
