This place was outstanding!!! If you like a bungalow on the beach or even better a Mexican bungalow this is your place to stay. They have other rooms available but if you can spend a lil bit extra and get the beachfront bungalow. You fall asleep in your big king size bed listening to the waves. The bungalows are more then you need it's honestly like glamping on the beach .. the water only footsteps away. If you are after a comfortable stay in a good location this is also for you as they have jungle rooms. It's affordable and the staff are amazing!!! The most beautiful people we met on our trip!! We had a 16 month year old and they went over and beyond to make us feel at home. Even went to town to get mosquito cream for our lil man. The food is yummy and plenty of healthy options. Location is great to, it's on the beach as well as a bike ride away from town centre and a bike ride away from the amazing beach Playa Maya / Ruins. We will defiantly be back!!!! Can't thank you enough to the team at Zamas!! Zaffa will miss you all!!!
On our one week vacation in Mexico, Tulum was our second spot, after Holbox, it is beautiful and the beaches are some of the best. There are a lot of hotels in the strip of beach called Tulum, we feel like maybe 50+ small hotels, there is a lot of competition. One one side of the street are restaurants and bars, and on the opposite side facing the ocean are all of the mini hotels. We stayed in Zamas and had a good time, we had lunch and dinner at three other hotels so we saw what was out there. Zamas is not the most beautiful one, but it is the best value, some of the ultra cool hotels just next door were $500+ per night, pretty crazy, considering they are sharing the exact same beach and only a few fee away from each other. My tip is to stay in Zamas and eat at all the other hotels.
We spend some days of our honeymoon in this beautiful hotel. Absolutely amazing and charming rooms, clean and great attention to detail. Super location directly at the beach, close to shops and the Tulum high street. Staff was very attentive and helpful, especially the general manager Mara was lovely. The food at the restaurant was just excellent and the cocktails delicious. Check out the shop opposite of the hotel (Hilo Rojo) - best shop in Tulum for Mexican jewellery and souvenirs.
Great visit to Tulum and a few nights stay at Zamas Hotel. Really nice bungalow setting and spaced out nicely. Very comfortable beds and room layout. I loved the walk in open shower. Staff is very friendly and the food at hotel is great. We stayed two days and it was perfect. The beach is a great setting with lounge chairs and nice wooden chairs. Easy access to Tulum Ruins from hotel only 70 Pesos
This is the most unique, quiet, great quality and overall simplistically beautiful place we've ever stayed! The rooms are these little cabana huts, literally right on the beach, you walk out in the sand and the water is right there! No AC but you really don't need it with the night ocean breeze! If you want AC they have other condos in the back that have that but it's really not necessary. The restaurant is amazing and their drinks are killer. So fresh and so good- no gross syrups used here and everything is 100% authentic. Try their coco-loco (literally a drink served in a coconut) and mezcal drinks! Been here a few times now and we will be sure to return!!
My friend and I decided on a last minute visit to Tulum for the long weekend. We called Zamas and spent a long time chatting with Reception about the different stay options. I think we might've even called twice! The staff was attentive, kind, and patient with us throughout. They arranged our transport with a wonderful service - STP - to/from the airport and from the moment we arrived everything was amazing. The staff at Zamas is the glue of the place. From our favorite smiling faces in Reception to Manuel in the restaurant in the mornings, we felt pampered and adored at every turn. Zamas is a uniquely designed boutique hotel that makes you feel at home. We stayed in 2 rooms (we couldn't decide between beachside and Ocean view) and couldn't have been happier. In the coconut grove section we woke up every morning and swung in the hammocks to watch the sun rise, and when we stayed in the Ocean view room, we lounged on the chairs in the back terrace to watch the sunset. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the staff was a dream, and the food in the restaurant was fresh, clean, and delicious. We can't wait for our next visit - we are definitely taking the Sian Kaan tour with Fernando again and snorkeling with Mexidivers- such great recommendations from Daniel at Zamas. We can't wait to be back.
Zamas is a fantastic resort to stay in Tulum. It is all about the location. The main resort along with rooms, cafe and reception is right on the beach. some of the other rooms are across the road but give you great views of the turquoise seas. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. the best factor remains that the resort is conscious of its resources and therefore utilises green outlook. The ambience is extremely laid back. you have an option of lazing on the beach as they provide beach beds and on the exclusive beach. The cafe provides great food and friendly staff. The resort is also close to other restaurants and shops making it a convenient stop for all requirements. I would definitely go back to Zamas if I am visiting Tulum again.
Zamas is a great place to stay in Tulum! The restaurant, beach, hammocks and pool are all convenient for laid back days at the hotel, but it is close enough to other great spots for when you want to venture out. The staff was friendly and helpful the entire time and the rooms were always clean! A warning is that no AC in September was a bad idea for our group. We underestimated just how hot it would be and the impact of that on sleep. And if you are prone to mosquito bites, you probably want to bring extra bug spray. Both of those issues were minor and overall the stay was great!
Three friends and I stayed at Zamas for a week. Our room had a lovely wrap around porch, and quite a few windows which was nice for a breeze at night. Our room was right across the street from the Zamas beach and restaurant, which was convenient and also quiet at night. It's also close by lots of good restaurants such as Mateos (good for a post-beach beer) and Posada. We rented bikes about a block down the main road from Zamas which were great for exploring the ruins and biking to hang out at Papaya Playa. I'd definitely recommend Zamas for groups looking for an affordable, convenient spot to stay in Tulum. One warning, however - when sitting in the porch hammocks at night there are mosquitos that you may not feel biting you at the time but when you go inside will have left an insane amount of bites. This happened to my friend and I while we were sitting in the hammocks, however not our two friends sitting next to us in chairs.
We first visited Zamas for breakfast on our first day. Best breakfast in Tulum! They have the best habanero salsa ever! The omelettes and fancy toast were fantastic. So breakfast was great and then we had dinner..... OMG! Romantic setting.... fresh caught fish... candlelight...sand between the toes.... and the best band ever. This was the perfect romantic evening ever. I hope everyone has a beach experience like this in their lifetime. ❤️
