Beach is amazing... horrible customer service... food is not good except for seafood

The location of the hotel is perfect because it's close to downtown, the water is amazing, however, the staff are very rude. Overall food wasn't good except for some seafood. There is no reservation for the restaurant so sometimes the waiting was one hour and half or more. They wouldn't let you order more than one entry and you are not allowed to eat twice during dinner time. We need a first aid kit but we were told they ran out! I have been to many hotels around the world but by far this one has been the worst customer service hotel.

I didmt like the mildew smell in the whole room & also the shower smell like cigarettes overall the staff was very nice & the fiod was good

The staff was amazing and grounds were so beautiful. I've stayed in an another Riu and Riu in Mexico was the best.

Good staff!! But,they expect to be tiped!!! If,not!! You would be a monkey face!! On the dinner restaurant!! The rest of the personel if great!!! I belive is ALL INCLUDED!! Thank you!!!

I had a mixed experience on this hotel. The pros: The facilities are beautiful (although not the best), the beach and the ocean are clean, the stuff is friendly in general, and the food at some of the restaurants is good. The cons: The hotel is not secure, especially in the public areas. I got my phone stolen in a blink of the eyes by the pool area, when most of the tourists were gone and mostly hotel personnel were around. Also, although the hotel is located near the discos and bars, this zone might be a bit overwhelming with tons of people offering tickets and other services. They can be quite intense and aggressive, making the experience not enjoyable. I do not think that I would go back to this hotel, neither I would recommend it.

I had a great time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good. The room was clean. I will definitely go back

Great service .

Beautiful hotel, but the staff was not so friendly. They were rude to my friend and I on several occasions. Also, this is a couples place, which is not really advertised and was unbeknownst to me. I went with my friend and everyone kept asking if we were lesbians. The rooms had sand on the floors and the beds were worn in. Flattest pillows I've ever slept on. The food was just not good. The only place that had a edible food was the Italian place. Food was very disappointing. Besides those few things, the hotel was very beautiful, and had many amenities. The beach was clean and the water was warm. There are 2 pools, one of which is in the shade all the time (very cold) and the other one is a "party" pool which always play techno/remixed pop on a loud speaker, so we didn't really hang out there. I mean, this hotel was okay, it could have been worse. Ps: you're better off bringing your own beach towel because they give you these towel cards and if you lose either a towel or a card, they charge you $220. Not worth the risk. Oh and if you plan on doing any tours, don't go with the locals. They charge you and arm and a leg. Talk to the Expedia/others that hang out at the hotel in the "auditorium" area outside.

We had never been to the Las America's, but it was everything we hoped and more! Amazing!! The staff were awesome, very polite and helpful when you had questions!! The food was great, drinks out around the pool, on the beach, pretty much anywhere on the resort were offered continuously! The other guests were very respectful as well. It was great! Great experience! We are definitely going to come back to the Riu Palace Las Americas!

Very nice and well kept. Staff very professional and curtious. The staff is always serving and cleaning.

We had an excellent experience!! Great food, beautiful clean rooms, clean hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Jorge was a favorite!! Will definitely come again and recommend this hotel.

Our room stayed damp the whole stay. Our towels, our clothes when we put them on. I've had to wash even our clean ones after getting home cause they smelled like mildew. Slipped on lobby floor and broke my ribs. But staff, pools and beach was great. If not for damp room would have loved it. Now nursing a bad cold. Last two days there very sick with stomach. Boyfriend and I both.

This resort is beautiful but unfortunately I have to give it a poor review. My husband's wedding band was stolen from our room. When we went to the front desk manager to tell her what had happened, she informed us that all we could do was make a report. She also told us that this had never happened before. Five minutes later, when we spoke to the assistant manager, she told us that it had happened before and that the person got their wedding band back. They did an investigation the following day but nothing came from that. We are filing a report with the hotels insurance but we are not sure what will happen with that report. We were having an amazing time at this resort but this put a complete damper on our trip.

Wonderful staff , very nice beach, food was great ,We will visit again

Great all inclusive hotel. Only bad thing is that when you leave your room you have to pull your room key out of its slot which also turns off all electric in your room. This allows room to get rather warm and you are unable to charge any of your electronic devices. Other than that we found it to excellent in every way.

Awesome!!! I didnt want to leave. The staff had great hospitality. My room was cleaned twice a day.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean. The check-in process could have been a little quicker. They offered us an upgraded room at another Riu hotel up the beach but we arrived later in the day and just wanted to get our room and hit the beach. The beach at this place is great! Excellent sand, plenty of chairs and umbrellas and someone bringing drinks. Probably the best part of the hotel. This is not the spring break, wild party hotel. Feels more like a couple resort, which is what we were looking for, so it was good for us. The room: Our room was a nice JR suite. Our fridge didn't work when arrived, so we had no cold drinks in the room. Also, our liquor ran out in the room even though the mini-bar said that the bottles were re-filled daily. But the AC was cold and the room was clean and comfortable. The food: Not bad for an all-inclusive, but nothing amazing. One restaurant, Krystal, wouldn't seat us without a 45 min wait every night even though half the place was empty, so we never got to eat there. The drinks were not good. Very watered down, poor selection of beer and wine. I understand its all-inclusive, but this was pretty bad. Activities: The shows at night are entertaining and enjoyable. We did an excursion to the Mayan ruins and did some swimming in the underground caves and zip lines etc. We had a great time. Overall, it was a very nice stay at a good hotel. Wish I could say more, not enough space here.

Everyone was overall friendly & met our expectations

The staff was very attentive & friendly, everyone always made sure all our needs were met. We loved the choices for food/restaurants. Already planning to go back this year!
