Hotel muy agradable y comodo. Habitaciones muy espaciosas y limpias.
We had a great time beach and the weather was great but the water weves we little to much for us to use the beach.
Rented a villa (2 bedrooms) for 6 people Only given 4 towels Not a nice as you would imagine for the price Cleaning lady was rude about what goes in the thrash can. Limited selection of places to eat at the hotel, and food is not that great, besides breakfast. Breakfast buffet was great. Alcohol and drinks are bottom shelf - this was not an all-inclusive hotel- so expected better quality. Good sized pools.
VERY clean room, awesome food, spectacular views and amazing staff. This is a fabulous place to stay with friends or family or both!
Nos gustó mucho no tuvimos ningún complain me gustaría regresar porque nos faltó mucho que conocer la próxima ves pienso ir con mi familia.
This place was everything and more. Everyone was super helpful. The location was prefect. We took the bus our to and from places our whole time there. I rate this hotel and my stay a 4.75. The only reason why i wont give it a full 5 star is because when we changed our room on saturday the room we were swicthed to was not cleaned. They do not get the room ready for the swicth witcj creeped me out a bit. We had to get ready to go out and ride ATV bjt coudnt because the bathroom wasnt cleaned wich blew. But other than that Amzing hotel.
Great first stay. Will go back... everything was great.
Staff was fantastic. Food and drink prices very fair.
We have stayed at the Islander for well over 20 years and had the opportunity to add one night there to our Cancun stay this year. Much of the restaurant staff at the Cayo Largo has been there for that long so it is like family. The weather was beautiful and our brief stay there was transitioned beautifully, as well as the departure and trip to the airport.
Generally, this is a good hotel, but they have a little bit annoying person who whole time that we stayed there, tried to sell some tours for us. She called to our room and was waiting us in lobby, but she knew that we have our car and decided to go to all tours by our selfs.
I have been in this hotel at least 3 times with the last year. It is very clean. Very convenient. Staff friendly. Supermarket where you can buy your drinks, snacks, etc. The only disadvantage is that many old people. There is fun, boring environment. Good for people who just want to relax at the beach. Cancun is not a destination just to relax, you go there to have fun. If you want quiet and calm, go to Riviera Maya.
I just got back home from my Cancún vacation. This is a great hotel. I chose a room with a kitchen. However, I didn't use the kitchen much because I chose the breakfast option & ate out or had a tour that Included a meal. There is housekeeping daily except on Sundays. The best part, every room has a view of the beach. It is low season (the time i like to go) & the place is not crowded. It was very peaceful & quiet, plus, plenty of spots to choose at the pool, beach, or on-site restaurants. What I also love about this place is that they have their own shuttle that stops at the sister hotels. Let me make note, although you pay for every thing by using your keycard, you also use your keycard to make purchases or eat at the sister hotels... what else can I say... I'm returning for sure.
You can purchase your groceries at the local market for much more less money than paying high all inclusive resorts
Te Hotel is very nice and quiet. The beach is just awesome, clean rooms, nice food... No complains at all.
Very beautiful! Hotel staff always very nice. Great views. a little confusing to find room the first day but we got the hang of it. You have to pay for Internet ervice if you need to print stuff or anything like that. If you arrive not a a Friday you will need to switch rooms on Saturday but they will take care of it if you have things planned. Great place overall. Will definitely be back!
The only issue was being put through a time share presentation. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. Otherwise the staff were tremendous! Very courteous, and very accommodating. We are going back definitely.
Had Great stay. Best staff and Beach is unparalleled. My wife and I Love this place. Oh and Great Margarita's!!!!
Employee were very rude, my room was dirty I had to sleep in my friends room and I checked out the next day because I had the worst experience and treatment
Great hotel for families, the location is at the beginning of the strip, but public transportation makes it easy to get to other shops and restaurants. I would totally stay again. We did do the timeshare presentation, they were pleasant and not pushy but it does take close to 3 hours of your time. The 90 minutes of the presentation does not start until AFTER breakfast, by that time you have already spent an hour with them and they are already working you, so even though they are already trying to convince you, that time is not included in the 90 minutes.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit on the 7th floor. The unit itself was very clean and the kitchen well stocked. The lock off bedroom had it's own mini fridge and microwave with 2 full size beds and a very small balcony, the other, a king size bed, that also opened to the full size balcony. The wall unit in the living room had 2 murphy beds that we did not use. I've read lots of reviews of different resorts with people complaining about the beds, but realistically, there is no perfect bed for everyone. Ours were firm and felt great. Each room had its own A/C controls and televisions. The maid service was excellent, but we were never certain what time of day the room would be serviced. The Islander has a homey feel, and the workers were friendly and made us feel welcomed. There is a well stocked market on site, and with the exception of alcohol (of course they want you at the bar!), the prices were great. Speaking of bars, the happy hour at the pool was from 3PM until 6PM. There seemed to be a lot of owners there and they all spoke nostalgically of the great years they have had at the Royal Resorts. We played bingo and music trivia at the pool and won free drinks, caps, t shirts, etc. The main pool is 5 ft deep and was for the most part clean and refreshing. We like to venture out, and the walk to the city bus was not too far, but coordinating with their free shuttle bus got us closer to the 10.5 peso fare (city bus) that will take you downtown or to the clubs, etc. Taxis were readily available and were not that expensive, no need to rent a car. We discovered the Soriano supermarket up the road at the Kukulcan Mall, second floor. What a find! Huge supermarket, fantastic prices, AND for a very small fee, they will deliver to your room at your resort! We tried a couple of meals at the Islander, and were unimpressed. We were told that the restaurants at the neighboring Royal Caribbean might be better. Speaking of the Royal Caribbean, walking between the resorts was easy, and they did have more shopping venues. We ate several meals at a small place across from the Flamingo Mall, called Tacun. Authentic fresh food, big portions at budget prices. The beach was groomed and fantastic, this week had very little seaweed to bother us. My wife got to release her own baby Sea Turtle to the ocean, as they have a protected area set aside for them. I don't know how often this happens, but what a treat! The exchange rate at the resort was about as good as you can get, much better than the airport, and even though US dollars are excepted everywhere, individual stores and restaurants can charge their own exchange rate, so it's better to pay in Pesos! The public areas could have been a little cleaner, as the trash cans were often over full and around the pool area were cans and cups (of course, if the vacationers were a little more respectful, it would have been perfect). I had to give this place 4 stars because of the food offered and the trash around the pools, otherwise it would have been a five. We had a great time.
