Location, location, location
The resort is beautiful and clean all over. We felt safe and enjoyed our stay there.
The elevator was done the entire time. They said it would be fixed but never was after we Walked up seven flights of stairs with our luggage, they called and said we could take the service elevator which was dirty, slow and shared with staff. No apologies or comped anything. They just didn't care. Not coming back
It was quiet and beautiful, with plenty of space for all of the guests to spread out and not feel like we were on top of each other. There were couples, singles, families....and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We were a family with a small child who was able to bounce around the pool and beach and do kids' club things without worrying about adults around him - it was wonderful! The staff were incredible - friendly, kind, helpful. And the food was great and really reasonably priced. We felt safe and secure on property and appreciated that we could just hop across the street for other activities and restaurants. If I were the Westin, I would add a coffee shop near the main pool with some toast or bagels open in the morning though! The one thing that was annoying was the hard sell on timeshares and rebooking, but we understand that's the business they're in. We will definitely be back.
I never write reviews but I’m so disappointed with my experiences at the Westin Lagunamar that I had to share. After booking a "concierge" member will email you. Don't be fooled, nothing is complimentary, including the shuttle service to and from the hotel. When you check into the hotel, the "concierge" staff will try to sell you on Timeshares at the resort. This is no hotel! The Westin Lagunamar is a timeshare which is not stated anywhere in the description. They make guests feel inferior by labeling them as "renters." Due to it being a timeshare, this place is mostly occupied by elderly people. Restaurants and entertainment close end early. There are few food options available and what is available is poor quality, and very expensive. The staff are rude and avoid work by ignoring simple requests for water and condiments. The hotel is aged in appearance but the rooms are okay. The room doors let in a lot of noise. You can clearly hear outside voices and cars. The craftmanship is poor, our shower door was unable to full close. My fault completely, but make sure to use the room provided safe because we had some jewelry stolen after the room was cleaned. I was traveling with friends and family who were very disappointed in the hotel as well. So much so that everyone switched hotels after the first day. I attempted to switch as well but the manager was not very attentive to my needs. Nor was he sympathetic. Lastly, the gym is a poor excuse for a workout area.
Very Friendly Staff and nice and clean area. Concierge service staff Danial was helpful. They gave good advice and arranged suitable activities for kids. I recommend this for Family friendly accommodation.
Perfection, I had a good time. The view is amazing. I have no words to explain how this property is the number one for me.
The resort has nice views, large one bedroom villa, very nice pools and beach, food OK by the pool. Didn't like the food in the evening: only one restaurant open, was indoor (!) and the food was nothing special: no ceviche, the only fish was salmon!. Poor selection of cocktails. Place was loud, used to be better 2 years ago. The other Westin in town has better restaurants!
Overall our stay was pretty good and most of the staff was very helpful. The main hiccup was around our check-in experience. The initial check-in took close to 30 minutes. We requested early check in since we were traveling with our baby. They weren't able to accommodate that, which is fine, but when we went back 3 hours later, at 5 o'clock (which is one hour after the normal check in time) they told us our room wasn't ready yet. For how much money we were spending on this room it felt a bit frustrating (and our crying, overtired baby made it feel more high pressure than usual) and maybe not worth the money.
Rude reception. No heat in room. Was not a hotel was a timeshare and was not told. Room so far from ocean it was Pool view but sold as ocean front. Rooms were old. The front entry faced a parking lot
Loved the stay. Nice room. Water was beautiful. I’ll be back.
