Wife and I were victims of the Delta fiasco earlier in April. This all inclusive resort was not our original destination, but we had to scramble at the last minute and we thought we'd give Sun Palace a try. We tried it and unfortunately will not be going back. When you first check in you're given a wrist band (various colors depending on your status) which made me feel like a kid at a water park or something. I assume they have to "band" everyone's wrist due to all of the hotels up and down the beach in order to fend off non-resort patrons. After being "banded" we then had to sit for a good hour or more with a Palace Vacation Planner. Last thing we wanted to do after a day of travelling was listen to someone offer all the various off-site trips that cost extra money (resort credit business model). This was not a hard sell, so we patiently listened and politely declined their offers. Staff at the four restaurants were very friendly and the drink service at the pool/beach was very good. Breakfast and lunch buffets were just okay and we enjoyed the snack bar by the pool more than the lunch buffet. We found it strange that the resort was only at 30% capacity, especially for this time of the year. Needless to say, the Hotel Zone is not for us and we will stick with our resort nestled in the jungle within the Riviera Maya area.

Great time. Need to work on AC in the rooms. Not working 2 out of 7 days. Other wise the best vacation. Staff great food and drinks great.

I have visited this resort three times 2012,2014, and this year 2017. I have always had an excellent stay. The servic in the resort restaurants for some reason has deteriated, plan on waiting a long time.

This was a great experience. Booked this trip to celebrate my husband & brother inlaw 60th Birthday. Staff, food and service was excellent. This is our 3rd trip to a Palace Resort and will be back.

As soon as you walk in the door people are hounding you to go to their timeshare presentation. We expressed that we just wanted to get to our room and settle in as we had been traveling all day. Since we didn't book any trips right away using our resort credits or agree to go to the time share presentation, they began calling us the next morning hounding us again regarding this. We ended up not using any resort credits as we found better trips on our own. Also, their beach is split into three different areas, diamond members, VIP members and everyone else. They don't tell you this until you sit in one of the areas that you don't belong, then they make you feel bad that you are in the wrong area and make you move. Also every thing from drinks to food was very strong tasting as lime. The hotel was clean but could use some updating. The staff for the most part was friendly. Also the buffet for dinner was anything but casual dress.

We enjoyed ourselves immensely! The food in all restaurant and by the pool was very well prepared and very delicious ! Sun palace staff service was outstanding. They are very friendly,professional and constantly attend to all your needs , excellence job ! Yes I would highly recommended Sun Palace.

Amazing view. Amazing hotel. Junior suite had an amazing view. Representative were friendly. Only disadvantage was there was no shuttle besides the bus coming twice within the day. Had to pay all the time for cab service to go to the sister hotels

Hotel is right next to the beach, beach was very nice. The hotel it's self is a bit run down and the food overall was below par. Our room leaked from ceiling due to jacuzzi in room above, but they relocated us. We were expecting more since we paid for concierge level room. Bed was terrible and not many channels on tv..and since weather is rainy sometimes not much else to do but tv. Beach was great but we won't be returning to sun palace.

It was my first time in Cancun and it was amazing.

Sun Palace is our Go To Cancun Resort Destination. We have stayed there at least 7 Times. The resort is constantly improving and innovating. It's the small details that make a Big difference to us. Room updates include: Fancy padded floor mats (Deluxe) for each side of the bed. Long Soft Premium 4ft. Brand new pillows. New flat screen TV's ( Did not watch TV due to having Too Much Fun with folks from all around the world). New Espresso machines (high end). The Chef's for all restaurants have innovated and improved and the food is superb, I also witnessed the creation of special Vegetarian Rice pasta dishes for folks from Australia that was reported to be Fantastic. Yes, you can get a fancier resort room in Cancun, but the Food & Service at the Sun Palace Blows Away the competition. They have upgraded the High pressure triple water filtration to an even higher standard for the resort. If a couple really knew the true costs that the resort pays monthly to keep the Lights On, then you would realize the great bargain you are receiving.

Hotel and staff were great, but the food was hit and miss. Both my daughter and myself got very ill from things we ate, and wasted most of our trip in bed. Staff was wonderful and did a very professional job. But, we had a terrible time being so ill.

The staff were absolutely top notch and were attentive to our every need. The food was great (avoid The Steak restaurant, but the rest were fantastic). They bent over backwards to make us feel at home during our stay there and treated us very well as newlyweds (honeymoon dinner was fantastic).

Our stay at the Sun Palace Hotel was absolutely phenomenal. The service provided by each of the staff was outstanding. Although they all provided excellent customer service, there were a few the particular staff members that went above and beyond for us. The first day we arrived, Yoshwan helped check us in and made us feel extremely welcomed and comfortable. Marcos was the one who helped us book all of our exertions. Arriving the hotel we were a little lost and confused as to how, where, and what to book when it came to the extra activities outside the resort. Marcos provided us with many suggestions with great discounts. He was extremely thorough and very patient. One thing I like the most was he DID NOT push us to sign up for any activities we did not want to do. Another person whom gave us great service was Pedro the bartender. He was very attentive and quick. Although my least favorite part of the resort were the drinks because they did not really do its job in making us feel drunk, Pedro knew exactly how to make the drinks for our liking and even made us extra delicious shots in which we had never heard of. Lastly, Ignacio the server at the restaurant gave us great recommendations on what food to get as well as great tips on exertions outside of the hotel. I may not have remembered everyone's name, but they were all excellent staff. I must say this is the best service I have received in any hotel I have every been to. These workers are quick, polite, and efficient, and most importantly did things out of their own heart. Another great thing is there this hotel did not have any children. You were able to relax fully with you significant other without being bothered. There were only a few things that can be improved to make this hotel 5 star. For starters the drinks. They do taste good but for some reason after drinking many many drinks one after another, I did not feel as buzzed as I should probably have. The drinks can be a little more stronger. There also should be a better night life for the couples. Since this is a couple oriented resort, there should be a little more activities to do for us to do besides sit at the beach all day. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a good time!

Disappointed. Not very much to do. We enjoy listening to music there was only one place for music and it was horrible. Beach was beautiful but nothing to do at night and we didnt want to stay in the sun all day. Food and drinks were not very good either. I liked the convevience of the all inclusive had it tasted good.

The hotel was a great location on the beach with ocean front rooms. All of the food was delicious as well as the drinks. We took advantage of all of our resort credit and I received the best massage I have ever gotten. The front desk staff is not very knowledgeable and the room has some dirty marks on the walls and counters. Other than that it was a great trip!

This trip was excellent. The service was great. The staff was friendly and always willing to help you. We will definitely go back.

We had a great time and will be going back, staff was very helpful . Weather was great, beach was great, food was great, other couples were great. Connecting flight out of NJ was only downer, too much time between flights and the airport was a jungle, total mess!

Excellent vacation! Staff, food and atmosphere were excellent. Highly recommended!

Hotel is right next to the beach, beach was very nice. The hotel it's self is a bit run down and the food overall was below par. Our room leaked from ceiling due to jacuzzi in room above, but they relocated us. We were expecting more since we paid for concierge level room.
