I’ve stayed at Ziva twice before, most recently in 2020, and we were so excited to return. This trip was especially meaningful because my boyfriend, now fiancé, planned his proposal here. He coordinated photography through the concierge in advance, but on the day we arrived, the photographer told him she and the entire team had been let go by new management. The resort never informed him. Had she not personally reached out, the proposal wouldn’t have happened. Thankfully, she went above and beyond to make it special despite the lack of communication. As Expedia Gold members, we’re eligible for perks like a bottle of wine and a room upgrade if available. At check-in, we were told no upgrade was possible unless we downgraded to a dolphin-view room. The next day, after asking again, we were upgraded to club level after persisting. I repeatedly asked staff to help make the proposal feel special with something in the room. We were told it would be done on our last full day, but nothing was arranged. At Bastille, we shared we were celebrating our engagement since they asked, yet there was no acknowledgment for us but the couples around us. Other rooms had banners and decorations, which made it more disappointing. Food quality has declined; many dishes were overly salty, especially the Italian food truck. Bastille, Habaneros, Tradewinds, and room service were the highlights. The beach and security staff were exceptional. Overall, this trip did not meet the standard we once loved.

Stayed last february and now this february. Prices of everything has gone up (cabanas, extended checkout,etc) while we found the service, professionalism and overall food quality deteriorating (and yes i am basing this off a 5* resort, where you pay $1000,usd per night not a memories or riu). Would not stay again given the high prices and lack of food optoons and quality particularly in the buffet at night. The other sit down restaurants were okay or mediocre but nothinf to rave about.

It is a really beautiful resort and the staff, the food and the rooms are great! Beautiful beaches and pools. The only negative thing is that they try to up-charge you constantly: wine, cabanas, food, spa services, dolphins, show, nicer tables, better lounge chairs etc. When you pay between 700-800 dollars a night, this gets old.

This was our second stay at this hotel. We came with 2 sets of grandparents and young kids (2 and 5) and we all had a great time. The food options are great, service staff are very friendly. Beach is nice and clean and water is fairly calm for swimming. One star off for the pool being cold- wish it was heated more so kids could enjoy it more- they only swam in the covered pool section as that one was warmer.

We have been to this resort many times and love it. While they have great food, clean rooms, and beautiful grounds, the thing that stands out the most is the service. As soon as we got there, Fernando granted us and took us to check in. He is a person and is so very welcoming. Then at the club tower, Emmanuel and the rest of the staff are wonderful. They make you feel part of the family. Then out by the pool, Judith and Carlos helped to make every day great. We’ve been to many resorts and this is by far our favorite!

The room was great! Miguel and Natasha were wonderful!! The only thing we didn't like was we wish there were more signs for people not to invade your space. We rented a cabana at the main pool and people kept coming in our area.
