This was our 2nd stay at the Riu Caribe. Food and drinks were amazing and the service was over the top. They cater to your every need hand and foot. There's constantly people cleaning and maintenance around the grounds of the hotel. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. Until next time.

All inclusive stay at Riu Caribe. Booked 9th floor (top level) with superb ocean views however, all rooms face the ocean. Treated with consistent hospitable traits and food at all eateries was delicious. There is a 24 hour bar on site with hot dogs, sandwiches and nachos to name a few. One thing to note is upon arrival at airport, resort salesmen are quick to rope you into booking a visit to neighboring parks i.e. XCARET. It is best to make reservations at the Hotel. The representatives there are more informative and not as pressure-some. Orbitz/Expedia performed the best service. Purchased the 'Plus' service which provided comfortable travel in coach bus with food, and drinks to include some entertainment. Great expierence, on a scale of 1-10, ten being the best I give the hotel and trip experience an 8. Down side would be cheap liquor provided at all bars, minor maintenance required of room, missing shower curtain, and piece of glass found from liquor dispenser, and hard mattress. Blanket was removed by cleaning crew upon routine service and returned late that evening. Overall expierence was a memorable stay to include live entertainment in theatrical area and side bar. Recommend Riu Caribe. All inclusive provides full acess to ammenities at Riu Cancun hotel. Drinks were best made at Riu Cancun, for instance the Mojitos were made with sugar at Riu Caribe and quickly thrown together. At Riu Cancun Mojitos were prepared minus sugar however, fresh and flavorful.

Our stay was wonderful! We arrived a few hours before check in and we were allowed to take advantage of the amenities within the hotel which was great because we had not had breakfast ~ the downside side to check in was that one of our rooms wasn't available until about 5pm ~ Gabriela A., a representative from Orbitz greeted us at the lobby and facilitated our excursions and transportation to the airport, she was awesome! Her advice and recommendations were on point ~ Food was good, buffet was repetitive but we were ok with that since our 6 year old knew what to expect however we chose the restaurants for dinner which were great ~ spa conditions were horrible, not sure if this was everyday or we just happen to go on a bad day, but there was no hot water, the little tub for my pedicure was not working and to make it worse there was no air conditioning ~ Rocio & Esmeralda tried very hard to make my experience great at the spa however Riu Caribe failed tremendously, I was sweating getting a pedicure while the other spa facility at minimum was air conditioned, I know this since I had to book the appointment for my pedicure at the other spa location ~ overall, I would stay again but I would by pass the spa and would have my bathing suit handy to jump into the pool or beach as soon as we arrive instead of waiting to change in our rooms ~ Riu Caribe has fabulous employees, I felt comfortable and at ease at the hotel ~ our 2 rooms were connected with great ocean view

This hotel was a little different then the last 2 we stayed at. Much more modern atmosphere but very nice. Staff was great as usual. For some reason the food was a little off the first day but much better the other days. Wish there was a clock located by the pool and in the lobby.

Excellent service. Can be busy at times, but there's enough space to spread out. Overall, excellent in all categories.

Needs a little improvement. Rooms are OK. Pool is awesome. Great cocktails, Food is OK yet the staff service is good, Specialty restaurants are OK. Needs a Disco! More quality entertainment needed. Not bad.

The Wi Fi signal is very bad. Also if you are looking to print your boarding passes for your flight or anything else forget. There are no printers. Food could be improved especially at the specialty steak restaurant. My steak was chewy. The potatoes were cold and very salty. The broccoli was cold. The onion rings were also cold and had to be the worst I have ever tried to eat. I actually gave them a second chance and it was same.

No complaints! Wonderful hotel! Good food, friendly staff, clean room!

When we got to the hotel our room that was not available for us til 24 hours late. We had reserved a Ocean Front King Size Bed Room. They put us in a Double Queen with a roof top view. We were able to change rooms the following day and got what we had payed for. The staff was amazing. Your happiness was there prior. Very hard workers. The pool is beautiful. Water activities were so much fun. Over all the trip was a pleasure.

The staff was excellent and made this a very enjoyable experience

The staff was awesome! Very friendly and hard working. Every room has an ocean view.

We had a bad experience with getting to the resort due to United airline delays which lost out on a full day. We tried to get a refund for the first night we missed and the hotel would not even hear us out. The food was average, nothing to get excited about. There weren't many choices for restaurants, it seemed like the same food were served everyday. We were there for a wedding and even our dinner meal was the same meal we received on another night there. The rooms were outdated and the bed was very uncomfortable. I felt like I was sleeping on springs. The staff was nice and friendly. For the price and quality of the hotel, I think you can definitely go somewhere else.

Great entertainment and great staff. All the workers work so hard to make things nice for you. Food was average. Pool cafateria needs to be better.

Great staff. Great location. Hotel outdated. Everything should have been replaced/renewed ten years ago. Over priced for the quality we recieved.

It's easy to compare the Riu Caribe to the, similarly level property, Riu Cancun down the street, and there are some pros and cons. The Caribe's renovation isn't quite as complete as there are still relics of the older Riu style. This is good and bad. The rooms have the cleaner new feel, but the restaurants still carry the older Yucatan style that used to be common in Riu hotels. The beach at the Caribe is larger and more private, as its located closer to the more secluded north end of the Hotel Zone. The crowd is a little more family oriented, but that can be good and bad. The staff is, as always at Riu hotels, friendly and attentive. The entertainment crew are fun and friendly, although there is a sense that the staff isn't as engaged with the guests as I've seen at other properties. But regardless, I never felt lacking for anything. And there was even service on the beach, at times, which I've rarely seen. Another great thing was its proximity to the new Ultramar Ferry port. It's less than an 10 minute walk to catch a boat to Isla Mujeres. This is really a great addition since I remember having to go into downtown in the past. For the price, I would definitely recommend staying at the Caribe. It's more family oriented and lacking in night life, but the busses are cheap and run constantly to the party area further to the south.

We were supposed to get a deluxe ocean view suite instead we gt a view of homes being renovated and street traffic and noise also renovation was being done on our floor...when we made our complaints to management they were not helpful and could not be bother...with our complaints...instead blame Oribtz for advertising wrong information. on accommodations..hotel was not crowded could not understand why staff was not more accommodating to our request for room change would not recommend...was so disheartened by it all and could not wait to go home.....

Very disappointed with the hotel. Very old and outdated. Staff was great, as well as the spa. Just the building overall is too old. Not close to all the action either. I'd never stay here again.

The food wasn't horrible but some of the items had a clean taste to them if that makes any sense. The hotel itself was nice, the people working there were friendly. But the rooms weren't the greatest or what I'm used to. The walls weren't clean. There were stains on the sheets everyday after they changed the linen. Would I stay there again? Probably not mostly because of the stained linen.

We arrived to find out that we hadn't paid for the children. The hotel charges a fee if $129 per child per day which was almost as much as the amount I paid for our room for my husband and I. They told us we would have an a joining room for them when we paid. When we went to get our room key we were informed that we paid for the kids to be in the room with us. It was $300 less than our room cost. We would have just paid the extra money to get the extra room if they would have been honest with us. So we paid more than we expected and the room was really not meant for a family of 4. The double beds are very small. As for the staff, with the exception of the front desk, they were very accommodating and friendly. The food was good and it was nice to have unlimited drinks. My husband lived the sports bar. The tours pick you up and bring you back to your hotel. The pools are nice and scuba diving is right there. There didn't seem to be any paddle boarding but the had kayaks. On our final day 2 out of 3 elevators were not working. The nightlife was nice. A slow every night and 4 separate restaurants. Overall it was nice, we were just incredibly disappointed with the total cost.

We stayed here five years ago before it was remodeled and I have to say....they took away the pond in the lobby that had turtles and took away the outside entertainment area. Since then it seems they cut costs and now have even cheaper food than before and looks like it will be awhile before I go back to Cancun.
