The Wi Fi signal is very bad. Also if you are looking to print your boarding passes for your flight or anything else forget. There are no printers. Food could be improved especially at the specialty steak restaurant. My steak was chewy. The potatoes were cold and very salty. The broccoli was cold. The onion rings were also cold and had to be the worst I have ever tried to eat. I actually gave them a second chance and it was same.

No complaints! Wonderful hotel! Good food, friendly staff, clean room!

When we got to the hotel our room that was not available for us til 24 hours late. We had reserved a Ocean Front King Size Bed Room. They put us in a Double Queen with a roof top view. We were able to change rooms the following day and got what we had payed for. The staff was amazing. Your happiness was there prior. Very hard workers. The pool is beautiful. Water activities were so much fun. Over all the trip was a pleasure.

The staff was excellent and made this a very enjoyable experience

The staff was awesome! Very friendly and hard working. Every room has an ocean view.

We had a bad experience with getting to the resort due to United airline delays which lost out on a full day. We tried to get a refund for the first night we missed and the hotel would not even hear us out. The food was average, nothing to get excited about. There weren't many choices for restaurants, it seemed like the same food were served everyday. We were there for a wedding and even our dinner meal was the same meal we received on another night there. The rooms were outdated and the bed was very uncomfortable. I felt like I was sleeping on springs. The staff was nice and friendly. For the price and quality of the hotel, I think you can definitely go somewhere else.

Great entertainment and great staff. All the workers work so hard to make things nice for you. Food was average. Pool cafateria needs to be better.

Great staff. Great location. Hotel outdated. Everything should have been replaced/renewed ten years ago. Over priced for the quality we recieved.

It's easy to compare the Riu Caribe to the, similarly level property, Riu Cancun down the street, and there are some pros and cons. The Caribe's renovation isn't quite as complete as there are still relics of the older Riu style. This is good and bad. The rooms have the cleaner new feel, but the restaurants still carry the older Yucatan style that used to be common in Riu hotels. The beach at the Caribe is larger and more private, as its located closer to the more secluded north end of the Hotel Zone. The crowd is a little more family oriented, but that can be good and bad. The staff is, as always at Riu hotels, friendly and attentive. The entertainment crew are fun and friendly, although there is a sense that the staff isn't as engaged with the guests as I've seen at other properties. But regardless, I never felt lacking for anything. And there was even service on the beach, at times, which I've rarely seen. Another great thing was its proximity to the new Ultramar Ferry port. It's less than an 10 minute walk to catch a boat to Isla Mujeres. This is really a great addition since I remember having to go into downtown in the past. For the price, I would definitely recommend staying at the Caribe. It's more family oriented and lacking in night life, but the busses are cheap and run constantly to the party area further to the south.

We were supposed to get a deluxe ocean view suite instead we gt a view of homes being renovated and street traffic and noise also renovation was being done on our floor...when we made our complaints to management they were not helpful and could not be bother...with our complaints...instead blame Oribtz for advertising wrong information. on accommodations..hotel was not crowded could not understand why staff was not more accommodating to our request for room change would not recommend...was so disheartened by it all and could not wait to go home.....

Very disappointed with the hotel. Very old and outdated. Staff was great, as well as the spa. Just the building overall is too old. Not close to all the action either. I'd never stay here again.

The food wasn't horrible but some of the items had a clean taste to them if that makes any sense. The hotel itself was nice, the people working there were friendly. But the rooms weren't the greatest or what I'm used to. The walls weren't clean. There were stains on the sheets everyday after they changed the linen. Would I stay there again? Probably not mostly because of the stained linen.

We arrived to find out that we hadn't paid for the children. The hotel charges a fee if $129 per child per day which was almost as much as the amount I paid for our room for my husband and I. They told us we would have an a joining room for them when we paid. When we went to get our room key we were informed that we paid for the kids to be in the room with us. It was $300 less than our room cost. We would have just paid the extra money to get the extra room if they would have been honest with us. So we paid more than we expected and the room was really not meant for a family of 4. The double beds are very small. As for the staff, with the exception of the front desk, they were very accommodating and friendly. The food was good and it was nice to have unlimited drinks. My husband lived the sports bar. The tours pick you up and bring you back to your hotel. The pools are nice and scuba diving is right there. There didn't seem to be any paddle boarding but the had kayaks. On our final day 2 out of 3 elevators were not working. The nightlife was nice. A slow every night and 4 separate restaurants. Overall it was nice, we were just incredibly disappointed with the total cost.

We stayed here five years ago before it was remodeled and I have to say....they took away the pond in the lobby that had turtles and took away the outside entertainment area. Since then it seems they cut costs and now have even cheaper food than before and looks like it will be awhile before I go back to Cancun.

Let's start by saying this place will be ok for you if you don't have any kind of expectation. The food is rather bland at both the buffet and restaurants. The pool* and beach are nice. You have to get there early to reserve your chairs. We kept our towels from the night before and used those to put on the chairs and got clean ones after breakfast. Service there was hit and miss. Jose who was at the pool bar was always friendly. But there were other bartenders there who looked like they hated their job and would roll their eyes at you every time you ordered. Restaurant staff was the same. The rooms were fine and clean. They were just a little old and tired. The only AC available is in your room and the sports bar. *Do be careful of the pool. Myself and another member of my group both got deep cuts on our hand and foot from the pool tile in the shallow area on the edges.

The staff at the hotel were great. Very polite, always smiling, very professional. The facilities were very clean. You could see staff working hard to maintain the property all day, without causing disruption to guests. Housekeeping staff sweeping the floor and stairs daily, staff gardening and maintaining pools, staff on beach picking up straw wrappers, wiping down the tables, raking the little bit of seaweed that would was up. Food was presented beautifully at buffet and in specialty restaurants. Huge selection. Activities were fun, and children were included. Next time, we will be bringing ours. Only suggestion is coffee maker in room.

This was our second time in Cancun but our first time staying at the Riu Caribe. Unfortunately the weather was not that great (windy, cloudy) so the water was not as calm or clear like it shows in the pictures but if it wasn't cloudy and windy and was sunny, then it would have been perfect. But overall we still had an amazing time. The food was better than expected. It actually had flavor! We mostly ate at the buffet but there was so much variety and had different dishes each night that it didn't get old. We did try out the Chinese restaurant (reservations required) and it was okay. We thought the buffet food was better. The hotel was big and kept very clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Watch out for the middle elevator, we almost got stuck on it. The doors didn't open when they were suppose to. The entertainment was okay. We stayed on the 9th floor which is the top. The room we stayed in didn't seem to be one of the rooms that were renovated. Room # 993. Room did come with a mini fridge that was restocked daily and it did come with a balcony and ocean view. The room seemed like one of the older rooms and didn't really look like the pictures they show on the website. But as mentioned earlier, it may not have gotten renovated yet. The hotel did offer free wi-fi but we could only get it in the lobby but it was all day and night. Book the Xel-ha excursion. It was absolutely amazing and beautiful and breath taking! The water is gorgeous and so clear. Best place to go for snorkeling. You will see so many fish and sting rays. You can even swim with dolphins for an extra cost. The weather was perfect there! We would stay again but maybe later in the year when it's a bit warmer. We went in January.

We took a day to visit Chichen Itza. That was awesome. Our twenty-something kids had a blast on the jet skis. Only thing I would do different is stay longer.

Entire resort was very clean. All the staff went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. Very nice beach with shade and sun. Great value, highly recommended

The food was close by the same every day on the buffet. The stake house is horrible with only on type of cut on the manu.
