We had an great time . The staff for the most part were great . The only thing I will take away from this class A hotel is the food . I honestly dreaded the time I had to eat because the flavor was not on point , hey riu this is México where is the great tasting food , where is the amazing tacos/ seasoning people expect when traveling to a Latin country . Other than the food I'll give this hotel a 4 star .

Had a fantastic week. No problems. Food and service was great in all restaurants.

Nice hotel. Ocean view room beautiful but bed sheets and towels were terrible. Stained and bad smell.

We have stayed at the Peninsula serval times and will return again. Relatively new, very clean, contemporary, great food, great staff. Liquor not top shelf but not the cheapest, either. From check in to check out the staff was almost too helpful, if that's possible. One exception, however, and she was not an employee of the hotel but an independent photographer. I wanted to take a picture to send via text to our children of indigenous people dress (beautiful feathers) in the lobby and the photographer yelled at me to put the camera down and got in front of my cell phone camera, twice!! Very embarrassing. I brought it to the attention of a female manager and she said she would have a word with the female photographer. Wouldnt mind buying her pic for myself but can't send that via text/email. Riu, I hope you follow up.

We had a very nice time. Service was awesome. The water sport activites we did were amazing!

My husband and I stayed for 5 days and were highly impressed by the staff, most importantly. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The food and drink selections were outstanding and the facilities overall were really great. If I had to give any criticism, it would be that there are only 3 treadmills in the gym and they were always being used. We will definitely be returning!

Great hotel, but MiSERABLE check in process. Almost change hotels due to the reception staff. Everything else as expected.

My best friend and I stayed at the Riu Palace Penninsula from January 17-22. 2017. We were impressed with the hotel and especially, the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and quick! We asked for Pepsi Light in our mini fridge and figured we would have some the following day. Within ten minutes, someone was knocking on our door to deliver it and they stocked it all week for us. The food and dinner staff were excellent! We especially enjoyed sitting in Sammi and Regina's section at dinner. They always greeted us enthusiastically and were so hardworking and kind. Sammi was so attentive to detail and the needs of all the people in his area. That extra friendliness and attention really stands out in a resort as large as the Riu. The rooms are very clean and stocked with water, soda, alcohol, and oh...The view! Just breathtaking! The beach was small but nice. It was never too crowded and there were always enough chairs. We were able to order drinks by the pool and the beach. We would definitely recommend this property. We would love to return!

Hotel is nise, but if you are beach person and love to swim in a ocean, this hotel not for you. Food in special restaurants not so good, but buffet is perfect

The bed in this hotel was horrible, it was way too hard. No comforters on the bed, only a rough blanket that they placed in the closet in case you get cold. The sheets and the towels looked as though they were not washed properly, i think they were suppose to be white but they looked dirty. Beach towels had stains on them too, brown spots. The pool area was boring, not much to do. The people in the Riu next to us seemed to be having a lot of fun though, they had a pretty good DJ by the pool. They need to have more activities overall. The hot tub in the room seem so out of place, i thought there would at least be a curtain between the tub and the bed but nope. The tub is also small. The view was great though, that kinda made up for some of it. And the food was ok. I picked this hotel because of all the great reviews but i definitely would never stay here again. Thanks

Amazing that's it literally ON the beach and there's never sand anywhere.

Outstanding customer service, gorgeous hotel, right on the beach with exquisite views. We will be back again soon!

All inclusive was wonderful. We didn't go to Cancun proper much at all so much to do there and close by

We had an excellent time. We were able to check in early and start making use of the resort as soon as we checked in. The food is great and is available all the time. Drinks and alcohol whenever you want! The room is spacious and nice. The beach is just steps from the pools. We will definitely come back.

Hotel is fantastic, food ,drinks, all the money i spend to book this hotel pay for it

Had a wonderful time staying at this hotel. There was many things to do at the hotel throughout the day such as activities by the pool and shows at night. The hotel staff is very friendly. The hotel itself is just wonderful and the views are stunning.

Even though this is a newer establishment, we are noticing a trend with RIU chains in that they don't upkeep and maintain their facilities. In our room the shower diverter did not work, the shower door would not shut all the way, the balcony door was very tough to open and close, the closet doors wouldn't open on the left hand side, the sheets smelled like mold, and the room itself was generally falling apart

It was very nice the room however it had a few things wrong. The water pressure in the toilet was horrible, had to flush three to four times just to get toilet paper down. The sink would not drain properly, the shower head was broken water came out of places it shouldn't , and the mini fridge didn't get cold. That being said I told the front desk and they upgraded us to a beautiful suite. Toilet pressure still bad, and mini fridge still warm. We loved the hotel, the grounds were beautiful. the steakhouse and the buffets were great. If you wan food that is a little warmer at night the restaurants are a better option. The hotel has a lot of open areas so the food will cool down pretty quick, all in all food was good.Drinks were very good. Staff was pleasant. We went for my husbands birthday. They delivered chocolate strawberries and champagne to the room at my request. We had dinner at the steak house. It was awesome they let us order a steak and a lobstertail. I loved our stay even for the little quirks. I would go back in a heartbeat.
