very clean hotel staff was very friendly. small beach next to harbor. but local beaches near by. staff was very good arrived later than 12 am due to plane delay was taken care of night staff was great. the whole experience was wonderful. my wife and I travel a lot and this was a great time. stayed 6 days would recommend this hotel. when we go back will stay their again. I read all the reviews before booking this hotel most were good the bad ones I found they were not correct.

This resort is a small resort with beachfront property. The grounds, resort and room was very clean. The staff extremely accommodating and friendly. However, this was the most UNRELAXING vacation I have ever taken! No matter where you went on the property, there was constant noise and commotion. For some unknown reason, they have a stage in the courtyard with speakers facing the resort rooms. Not only was the entertainment mediocre, but was so loud in our room you couldn't even hear the t.v. - let alone sleep. Constant, loud, inappropriate music in the courtyard, restaurants, hotel lobby and beach. One day as I was trying to relax on the beach and about to fall asleep, a group of people playing drums showed up to pass out tee shirts! One evening while deciding to stay and watch the courtyard show, we were unable to hear it due to the piano music that was playing in the lobby of the hotel! The music in the restaurants was so loud you couldn't visit and so abrasive you couldn't wait to leave the restaurant. I go on vacation to relax and disengage. This trip made me want to come home and get some peace and quiet. The resort is to small to sport outdoor entertainment in the evening. Do what you do best - provide a place where people can relax and enjoy themselves instead of being bombarded with poor entertainment and loud noise!

The pool area and lobby bar were very good. Unfortunately, I asked for double beds and the hotel staff never got back to me. The hotel staff are not very friendly. The activity entertainers were not friendly.

Excellent service, but I didn't like the way how we should do the reservation for the restaurant during the dinner time The concierges have their own rules different than the rest of the staff for the reservations.

Overall this is a great Hotel to go to. The people are extremely friendly and everyone there is amazing. People really do care about you and if you're having fun. They also accommodate to your every need. A friend of mine and I got separate rooms but they were very close to the beach and we literally just opened our back door and walked to the beach. The food was amazing from all 4 restaurants. They also have things you can check out to take to the beach at no additional cost. Also internet is not free but if you buy the bundle you can get it at almost 8 bucks a day per device.

Lo excelente: Ubicacion, los alimentos y los meseros en el restaurante Albatros, playa, alberca y shows del hotel. Lo malo: El personal en general (son muy descorteses), el servicio a camastros en la alberca y en la playa (se tardan mucho en atender a la gente; es mas facil que la gente vaya por sus bebidas a los bares).

Hotel was good, once we got a manager involved. Original room had a broken handle, technicians were in there for over in an hour once we got the keys and the fridge was not stocked. Once a manager got involved it took about 30'minutes for them to get it resolved. HOWEVER- there was a 500 hotel credit advertised with this hotel which is why we chose it but it was a total scam. It was up to 500 off services such as 20% off at the spa. Very very wrong to advertise! And the hotel said it clearly states that but it definitely did not online.

Great experience at this hotel. The customer service was wonderful! I had the best time during my stay. The room was huge! I had an all inclusive package and didn't leave the hotel for much. Note, it's best to tip bartenders and servers in usd. It's worth more. $5 is worth 89.49 pesos. I noticed the tip jar was filled mainly with usd at the bar. The food is buffett style. Some of it is good and some of it is not. All three restaurants require reservations: Mexico Lindo, La Trattoria and Claraboya. The only restaurant which doesn't need a reservation is Albatros. At the hotel they also have water adventures by company Aqua World. I highly recommend doing a 30ft scuba dive as certified instructors Miguel and Alberto are very friendly and have been in the business for 34 years. Very experienced and safe! Also there is entertainment every night at 9pm sharp. My favorite was the mariachi performance. They were awesome! I 100% recommend you book your first stay im Cancun at Occidental Costa Cancun!

Where do I start? Let's begin with cockroaches in the hallways, the front desk never answers the phone when you dial zero on the hotel phones, but they only answer when you call them on your cell phone international, also the maid service let strangers in our room just because a stranger said his kids were in there but it was just a huge mixup and he realized it wasn't his kids room....... and my friend and I were getting dressed at that moment...... there are so much more stories like how my friend and I were supposed to go scuba diving on Thursday but it was canceled due to weather and they called to notify our hotel so they can reach out to us but our hotel didn't answer leaving me and my friend who wasted our time and money for transportation to go to the place for them to say it was canceled and that they did try reaching our hotel.

It was beautiful and clean. Everyone very nice and pleasant. But was unable to do any of the free water activities. They had no alternative.

The pool area was great including the pool drink service but that's where it ended. The rooms were rundown and dirty. Even the common areas were dirty and in need of serious renovations. The food was limited in options and the reservation restaurants used low quality meat and was all basically the same seasoning. The 'beach' is really the channel where the boats and ferry comes in so it's not great for swimming. Finally the "resort credit" is anything but. It's really a "resort credit discount". Meaning you get up to $500 in discounts but nothing as full credit.

This was the best resort that we have stayed in in Cancun. We have stayed others and never gone back there twice. We plan on going back in the fall for fall five to seven days. Food was outstanding! The drink service was amazing. This by far was the best 4 day getaway we've had in a very long time.

Perfect hotel! Employees are super nice and polite. My bf surprised me here with their help and proposed!! Hotel is right by the beach and next door to the ferry that will take you to Isal Mujeres along with other tours. Food was great at the buffets along with the drinks. Only beer choice they have is corona that was the only downside to me but the Oxxo is across the street if you want other beer but the hotel is all inclusive so all the other alcohol makes up for it. Overall it was a great experience.

The facilities are limited, but the hotel is good for a relaxing vacations. For the price is a good deal, but there is no WiFi Free available for the guest and that was a inconvenience for us.

Experience was good they had a lot of entertainment but the buffet food needs to upgrade because it wasn't all that lol but overall it was good hotel should invest into a nightclub

Have stayed there twice now. Staff is excellent and make you feel very welcome. Food is good with great service. Pool is excellent with activities to keep you entertained. Great prices and great people.

Unlike some who complain this resort is beautiful and exceptionally well maintained.. Cancun is different the beaches are not all public some are private and smaller the beach area that is... the ocean remains the same.... fitness/sauna/paddleboats/kyacking/day activities and nightly entertainment are free... hell everything is free except room service and spa service and I had a wonderful experience with only a minor mishaps that was taken care of immediately... the staff was awesome I couldnt say more about Carlos and his amazing staff at the buffet... food was awesome and no its not catered for only one... there are hundereds at this resort so its for all... you have a choice with the Italian, Japanese Purivian or Mexican...eand you can place your name on the list between 0700-1500. but do remember there are others there and the list fill up quickly as some people are morning people.. I live in Houston so Im good on the Mexican the buffet gave me plenty of options...Housekeeping was amazing I wish I remember her name but she would check on me every single day...My King suite was awesome with a free mini bar..sodas/Caronas/water.. there are 2 bars and bar area in the restaraunts...this is not American liquor you are in another country everything taste different... I came alone on this vacation and not one person bothered me.. so you can travel alone with no issues.. I already cant wait to return for my 11th time.. cant add my photos dropped my phone in the water...duh...

We loved our room , including our own private balcony with an amazing ocean view .. food was pretty good , and staff were very attentive to your needs , beach and pool were very relaxing , we also enjoyed the night time live entertainment .. drinks we're ok , every time my husband try to order me a mimosa they always seemed to be out of champagne :/ .. but overall we had a great time and would definitely consider coming back .

Enjoyed every minute of our stay.. Great restaurants, super staff, central location..Who could ask for more ? Nightly entertainment was great, we were greated each night by the entertainment director nightly at dinner and invited to watch the show :) Price was excellent, can't find the words to describe how we were treated :) Thinking of going again with children this time so they too can experience the paradise we did.. Thank you all at the Occidental Costa Cancun.

nice hotel!

amazing customer service! would go back again!

Great experience at this hotel. The customer service was wonderful! I had the best time during my stay. The room was huge! I had an all inclusive package and didn't leave the hotel for much.
