Nice facility but not great if your looking for things to do at a resort. Pool and beach is about it... you will find yourself leaving a lot unless you want to live by pool. Food was just ok... at best. Not a lot of options at buffet other than the themed food. Servers were slow to acknowledge and service. Concierge was supposed to be our "allie" but gave us excursion "discount" that was way more than we got ourselves online? Timeshare salespeople were there but were respectable.

Second time in the area and this resort did not disappoint. Very up our alley...quiet enough, not drunk partiers running around, family friendly. Loved the outdoor seating and how open the main buffet was. Food was plentiful and good (not sure what people are really complaining about food and upcharges...it was never a surprise and not out of control. you don't want the upcharge, don't order it-it wasn't like there were other great options!) It is odd the whole signing out your bill....had to wait for it often while I just would have preferred to get going...leave the tip and go. Loved that waiters came around often to the beach and pool for food/drink orders. Never had to wait long. We had the smaller B room and it worked well for the four of us..we did not feel like we were on top of each other as there was a door separating the bathroom/"kitchenette" area if I wanted to get going earlier than the rest of my family. Balcony was nice...even on the first floor I felt that we were high enough from the main walkways for some privacy. I will absolutely be back.

The resort is exelent but their is not entertainment at all for adults. They do not have water equipments. The resort it's very quiet. They only have one daily restaurant and we had to wait in line for a long time to get fry eggs or to get steaks. We spected more for the amount of money that we paid.

This is the 3rd time I've stayed at The Royal Haciendas and it gets better every time! The all inclusive plan is worth every penny!

Everyone was so helpful. Which was good because this place is so large that a person could get lost very easily. Many, many things to do everyday if you want to. We were here to relax and that's just what we did.

Everything was super. Two facts why made me five this hotel 4 out of 5 and not recommend to others. 1. This is the first hotel in Mexico which did not provide a folding bed for my kid. I counted on it when I bought my package and since I could not fit with my wife on a double bed I had to upgrade my room for significant amount of additional money. 2. It is unpleasant to do beach walks in that area. On the territory of the hotel the beach is good but as soon as you go to the right, the beach will be full of garbage. The only choice is to go 15 min to the left. There will be garbage, then you pass one hotel with rocky beach and after that there will be a long area of hotels located side by side, which is clean.

I can highly recommend this hotel. It was very clean, the rooms where nice, the hotel complex had everything we needed. The buffet food was good compared to other buffets, which makes it ok. Fish dishes were wonderful. One plus: the buffet also had alla card options. One downside: there was only one restaurant option but that had great food. The beach was nice, the staff was great and the hotel has two big pools, one a little quieter for families and one with a little bit more entertainment. Kids activities were available. We also got addressed only once to participate in the time-share presentation. Overall a great location.

Check in is very slow (almost 1 hour). Only one buffet on property and two small by the pool. In buffet 1st thing you need to do is stay on line to be seated (you are asked for room #, your last name and how many people will eat, moreover they even put time you came, after they will talk to someone about table availability), then they would walk around looking for table and then find a table at the end of the restaurant, even thought other tables where available before that. Make sure you learn your room number, because you will not get a drink, food or towels anywhere until you say room number. And be prepare to sign receipts for food you eat and for towels you take on a pool, even with $0 balance you still need to sign. The food variety is TERRIBLE , NO food variety for kids at all, NO fruits (just a bit, not fresh in a bowl). Some staff barely understand English, if you ask for juice without ice, they would definitely bring you with ice. There are no activities on the beach or pool or ANYWHERE else. NO entertainment at all not during the day nor in the evening. The resort goes to "sleep" status at around 9 pm. The resort use to be time share base before, now they try to do it as well "ALL INCLUSIVE", however its not much to include. As well the have a stupid policy to change a room every Saturday, so if you came on Thursday be ready do move on Saturday to a different room. And if you want to complain, DO NOT bother, manager would tell you for everything "THIS IS OUR POLICY

We stayed here with our 11 year old daughter for our anniversary. We chose the all-inclusive option. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort was beautiful and peaceful. It is only a couple minutes drive from Playa del Carmen. It is a time share and we attended the sales pitch. Even that was enjoyable. We would recommend this resort to anyone and will be happy to return again next year.

Stayed in a lot of hotels Royal Resorts are among the best

We loved the resort, everyone that worked there was very nice and friendly, the drinks were great, every bar tender did an amazing job! The bar inside of the main building makes some great mocha frappas for a hot morning too! Our room was smaller then we expected, but big enough for the 2 of us, our "partial ocean view" really wasn't one at all, house keeping did a good job keeping the rooms clean, the kitchenette is only a microwave, which was ok, we had an all inclusive package, the mini bar, was only a couple of beers of tacate(nasty beer) and a couple of sodas, we always had to request more water for the room, after telling them we drink ALOT of water, and having more delivered, we still only got 2 a day, but we got them while at the bars, in the pool, etc, the food was great too, which has never happened anywhere we have stayed before! fruit and veggies offered every meal, and a smoothie bar! The resort is very clean, they keep the beach very clean, and the beach is amazingly beautiful. If you use a concierge, use Billy, Jesus tricked us into going to a jewelry presentation, by offering us a free ride to town after asking how to get a taxi, got there and they expected us to do a 45 minute "tour" don't do the "free" ride. When you check in, they will ask for your credit/debit card to put a $300 hold on it (we took cash, and did not call our bank because we didnt think there was any need to) Everything in the resort, is purchased through your room key on that hold.

Great hotel: absolutely beautiful! Staff was great, the only issue is that their Wifi/ Systems kept going down.

Great things about this hotel: - Very clean and well maintained - Large pools with varying depths for all ages - Good bar service & drinks (including the swim up bar) - Excellent food at the buffet, outside restaurants, and room service - Beach access This hotel is probably best suited for families and older people. It has a very relaxing atmosphere - not a party scene. The pool bar closes at 6pm, and lobby bar is supposed to close around 10pm but would usually stay until 11pm if people are there still. The place becomes pretty quiet after 9 or so which was fine with me since my husband and I went with our two young children. The staff were all very nice - everyone from bartenders, waiters, room cleaning, & concierge. They served in a way to "earn" tips, they didn't expect a tip and then provide good service only if they received a tip. I appreciated that. Its very close to Playa Del Carmen

This place is pretty awesome but the service was either really good sometimes and really bad at others. One day they would be there at the pool constantly asking if we needed anything, cleaning up and doing a wonderful job, then the next day we would have another guy and he would suck, rarely come around and rarely if ever would he pick up trash and clean tables etc. If you got the good server you were lucky if not then you were pretty much on your own. The food was mostly good but after a few days you realize your eating the same exact thing made in different ways over and over and over so you really want to leave and go eat somewhere else after about 4 days. Overall the food was better then I expected though. The worst thing to me was how often they ask you to sit in one of their time share high pressure sale events. I was asked at least twice a day every day for 8 freaking days and sometimes more. I got to the point where I was made and would bark back NO, LEAVE ME ALONE and they would but then the next time I saw them they would ask again. It really got old and I will never go back because of that alone. I"m not one to go to the same place more then once anyway so a time share is not something I would ever do anyway.

Excellent experience. Beautiful Resort. Need more shows at night.

My family of 5 stayed in the 2bedroom suite. We loved the spacious condo like feel. The beach on the property was pristine and my kids snorkeled and saw many fish. Royal hacienda is 10mins North of downtown playa. It's quiet and relaxing. We will definitely stay again in the future!

The hotel is beautiful and the service was great with the exception of the beach service. The beach service could use a little more work. Our room attendant, Carlos, did an amazing job throughout our stay. His attention to detail made our stay all the more comfortable, although our mattresses and pillows left much to be desired. Overall, our stay was great and we would recommend Royal Haciendas to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

I was extremely happy from the minute I stepped out of our vehicle, we were treated so well. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. Best service from the front desk clerks Yanis and Leslie. Our room was clean and ready. We were greeted by Gheovani our concierge who was there to provide us with information about what is there to do around the area. He asked twice at most if we were interested in learning about becoming a member I said no and he did not ask again but still gave me the best service every time we talked to him. The cleaning crew was fast and great service. Their quick service was awesome and also delivered great outcome, our room was spotless every time. We had the all inclusive and the food was actually delicious, we did not feel the need to go out and venture for more restaurants because the food and service was excellent everyday! I fell in love with this hotel and staff, I do regret not learning more about the membership BUT I know I will be back soon.

Service, facility, food, atmosphere, staff and amenities and excellent!

I decided to book this hotel based on all the previous ratings. Overall the ratings were accurate. My lowest rating was for the location, this was due to beach. By no means was this the fault of the hotel, but of natural setting. Lots of seaweed and water was a bit murky. I would like extend my thanks to the very helpful staff though. They made my proposal to my fiancé unforgettable. They did everything they can to accommodate my every vision of my proposal. The photographer Germaine even went as far was waking up at the wee hours in the morning to wait for the sunrise with us. Overall, my trip was very pleasant, aside from the disappointment with the beach itself.
