This is our second visit to this resort. We visited previously under the name Dreams, and now Jewel Punta Cana. This time we stayed for 12 days. Overall, we had a great trip and will visit again. Some thoughts: * Check-in was simple. There were very few people in front of us. Staff understood enough English. * Room - we were initially located in a swim-out in building #2. While the location was great, we did get a lot of beach bar noise during the day. We requested a room change because the internet was very spotty. Having stayed at this resort previously, we knew there were better internet options - so we moved to building #5. The internet improved and room was equally nice. * Internet - Overall, I would describe the internet as spotty. This is odd, because our previous visit 4 years ago seemed better. It all depends on where you're at. We found internet difficult on the beach, excellent center-pool area, and fair elsewhere. In our room, we got better internet using the EXT single, which is available outside. * Room cleaning - daily cleaning was excellent and the house cleaner kept is well stocked on linens and mini-frig items like coke light and water. * Tipping - while we got the feeling that tipping was optional - and noticed most DID NOT, we gladly tipped for great service. A small amount will go a long way in DR. * Food - Overall, we felt the food was very good. We did not feel MSG's or other flavorings were overused.
Jewel Punta Cana is very much in need of a refresh. The rooms and facilities are pretty dated, and show obvious signs of wear and tear. Rooms were very average and smelled strongly of mildew. Beds and pillows were not comfortable. The grounds were absolutely stunning and well cared for. We also enjoyed all of the food, particularly the two open air grill restaurants. The service was also very average. Staff were, overall, not nearly as engaging or attentive as at other resorts I have been. Entertainment was extremely disappointing. There was not much at all to do in the evening hours. We had a fine vacation, but I would not go back.

Reception stuff rude, they luck training and hospitality service knowledge . Rooms in terrible conditions . Our last night was a nightmare, we found a geico in room 1114.
We love the staff they are friendly and make you feel at home, the Terasa bar staff were amazing loreto, Albert and the rest of the staff at that bar, all the staff at each restaurant were amazing very helpful and the cleaning staff as well I will come back to Jewel Resort again we were feeling like family
I love the property and its sounding. I enjoy the tour with one of the worker that I met there she was very nice. Alos in the dining room Ricardo he makes you feel welcome, he's warm and friendly alos my friend July how took me and show me around. There are quite a few who we became friends while I was there. And such I would come back.

Mold was present in the rooms ventilation. We both got sick and moved to a new room and it was worse than the first room. The air vets were lied with mold and grey dirt. The resort is getting run down allot. Crack in the ceilings and walls, and pool sides. Staff was amazing.
The staff was fantastic! Rooms could use some updating, but were clean! Resort is quiet, not a party resort.
Property is beautiful. Has a great pool and beach. Depending on the rooms you get, some are dated. The swim up room I chose was okay. The resort staff is very responsive.
Great, quite, clean hotel and location. Stuff were great. The food were average and not many verities ( the buffet). Wifi did not work or worked with interruption which made impossible to watch movies, considering that there were nothing else to do in the evening with kids.
Dated property (rooms). Overall a good stay, especially for the price. Great sized pool but again - dated.
Average in all ways. Food and drinks were not good! Not many choices In restaurants. Beach not always cleaned up, yet neighboring beaches were. So you had to walk through the see weed to get into the water and it smelled. The activities were limited to Zumba and yoga. No fun games! Would not go back
Very friendly people working at the resort....good food...a 10 to the entertainment team by the pool and beach...Jose Manuel,Luis y tyrsaw....rooms need to be updated... beautiful gardens and the 3 flamingos make the whole place feel very tropical.
