This resort lived up to the hype! We loved our experience. The service was fantastic, the resort was clean and there was so much to do. We purchased the Premium package and we are so glad we did. I only have one complaint. I wish they would have had servers around the pools to get our drinks. There were times where there were so many people standing around the pool bar waiting for quite a long time to get a drink. The bartenders were working their tails off and did a fantastic job but the crowds around the bars were sometimes chaotic. Servers walking around offering drink service would have cut down on this crowding. We got used to going up to the bar when we still had 1/4 - 1/2 of a drink to get in line.

Good resort for children with several different pools to choose from. The food was just ok. There weren’t much options for breakfast and lunch besides the buffet. The food options at the buffet didn’t change much from day to day so it got very old. The dinner restaurants were good but the service was very slow. The bar service was very slow, also. I felt the rooms were not very clean. The showers had pink grime in the grout. It wasn’t just our room either. We had 2 other friends staying at the resort, as well, and their rooms/bathrooms were the same.

Friendly staff, great food and facilities, awesome beach and pools

I really liked the location, the spectacular beach and how friendly and helpful the staff were. Despite the language barrier, they were patient and so very helpful. When we couldn't find chairs on the beach our first day, a wonderful employee noticed us searching and signaled us to wait. He then stacked and dragged chairs from a great distance all the way to the beach and set them up in shade for us. Walfrin Santana, a concierge, was so personable, helpful, and went WAY above and beyond our expectations when helping us with restaurant reservations. I found the staff in the restaurants, bars, and buffets to be friendly and very helpful. We especially loved the servers, staff and delicious food at Kyoto, LaFuente, and 19 Hole Golf Bar. We also ate at the seafood and steak restaurants, which we loved the service at, but the food was not quite as good, in our opinion. It was great to have such a variety of restaurants to choose from! The only negatives for us were 1) the food at Strikers sports bar that looked like it had been sitting out all day and was poorly re-stocked and very messy. The staff there were also less helpful and not trying too hard the day we were there. 2) the bathroom door situation in our junior suite was a frosted glass partial swinging door that did not provide enough privacy for our taste. We were able to work around both of these negatives and the positives by far outweigh them. This is a beautiful resort on a spectacular beach.

Staff is rude, slow and unhelpful. I Found a hair in the rice at the buffet so I told a lady who works there see if she would do something Instead she turned her back and started to walk away.

Kids water park options was nice, beach was nice.

This this resort is excellent! My family and I visited this fabulous authentic place for the 5th time! Each time get better and better. The staff of amazing, food is great and the overall service is one of a five star. The night shows are awesome and the drinks are a hit or miss but most of the time knock you on your feet. Gift shops are great beach has a little opportunity with clean up however, the teams are out cleaning up seaweed relentlessly. The Casino and disco are so much fun and WiFi has great connection. Over the experience here at Barcelo palace was Super amazing!

It was simply beautiful. Best vacation ever . The locals were not on the beach harassing us as our trip before to another resort .

Loved everything just would of been mice to get more information on things going on as we ended up finding entertainment 2 days after arrival just by walking by

Stayed for my birthday week. Everything was beautiful. Staff was amazing.

I can't wait to go back! the rooms were very clean, the buffet was very good, lots of fish, fruits, and veggies. The pastries were very good. The staff is friendly, my family and I had a great time. My little kids love the swimming pools, especially the small water park in front of the church. The shows at the theater were entertaining too. My family and I felt safe while being at the resort. Definitely we will be back.

Love the beach area! Palm trees by the water made it beautiful! We will definitely come back!

Good resort for children with several different pools to choose from. The food was just ok. There weren’t much options for breakfast and lunch besides the buffet.
