This hotel was beautiful, big with so much to do. Staff was friendly and attentive. My stay was excellent. My only concern was that someone complained and was angry because their room had bed bugs. I saw two other complaints about this prior. I am happy my room was clean. No issues.

We just got back from an 8 night stay at the Riu Palace Bravaro in Punta Cana. We had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived at the Riu the staff was ready to take care of us. Very friendly, easy to communicate with. The room was nice good view of lots of beautifully groomed landscape with the ocean and pool in the distance. The pools by the swim up bar had tons of activities and the Animation Team was awesome! They really worked hard to keep the guests entertained and happy! The staff everywhere was soon top of it! They always remembered who we were & what we liked. The food was very good so many different varieties of restaurants for full sit-down dinner experience and the buffets never lacked Anything! I highly recommend this resort!

Beautiful property. Friendly wait staff and housekeepers. Good food. BUT: property not maintained properly (ie. no hot water), disrespectful people at main registration desk (due to their inability to focus on one customer at a time it was necessary to repeat information or question several times). Intestinal issues never experienced on 30+ visits to Caribbean islands (including three stays at Barcelo Bavaro resort).

Did not get the right room I booked first, had to go back to front desk, booked a pool view but they put us in a secluded area,(was resolved later on otherwise) water In our room/general was shut off on our last day till check out. Not all staff are friendly....

1- no beach service with waiters to bring drinks to the beach pool only. 2- Beach rocky/wavy and lots of seaweed 3- drinks in room were never replenished had to call over 5x to get to someone to room 4- lunch Was terrible I had salad everyday, dinner was just OK 5- most woman staff have a puss face on, men were more pleasant especially after you tip them ( they all should get tipped even though all inclusive) that money you pay for this vacation goes to the corporation not to employees. Employees work for under $20 a Day. Becareful when giving tips to the workers bc all there managers with black suits are always watching and if they see anyone giving tips they take it for themselves ( scumbags) 6- electric falls everyday so after the beach you go to your room there will be no water to taj shower or wash your hands for a while like over an hour sometimes I’ve stayed st many RIUS the best one is Aruba and Mexico Cabo Snd carmen de playa. Jamaica sucked, Costa Rica sucked and now Dar 7- request the 1st or 2nd fa bc there is o elevator when electric goes out. 8- AC not string st all and when electric goes out GOOD LUCK I rate this place an overall 2.5

The hotel is pleasant, but our experience with the staff was the best we have had anywhere in the world, This is the second time in Punta Cana, but it has been the best. Thank so much for your excellent services. God bless you!

The service was beyond wonderful. We didnt do VIP but we felt we were treated even better than that. The staff was friendly and fun and the grounds were immaculate and food was great!

This hotel is an all-inclusive. All aspects of the guests daily cay=tiki ties was taken into consideration. The meals were tasty, beach activities were taken into consideration. Excursions are planned and had to be paid for but I think they are overpriced.

Nice hotel...only complaint ...fridge in room didn't work...fully stocked with beverages...however they were beverages that should be consumed cold..so not much use if fridge doesn't work..also ice machine on floor broke

It was ok the hotel itself is nice the food was gross and the entertainment sucked. We were there for honeymoon and just to relax so it didn’t matter!

Overall it was ok. Though I woundnt recommend it. Maybe a different hotel. A little disappointed though. It's my first Riu experience that I wasn't overall satisfied.

Overall stay was pleasant. Only negative was an unpleasant odor in the room from cleaning materials used by the staff.

Nice hotel, close to the beech. Needs some TLC, dirty floors , stairs. Also, would be nice if the hotel personnel say good morning or simple hello, they are so unfriendly!!!

We choose RIU Palace because we had been to couple in Cancun including the Palace and we expected this one to be the same but on the contrary we were disappointed and not going back. First night and room was full of cockroaches and they didnt change us the room until next day. We barely slept that night and when we told the reception the reason why we wanted to change room they were like uhmm, ok, it kind felt normal for them. We also find out with other guests they had the same issue. The other bad experience was with the service overall, most of the waitress didnt care to provide a good service, we gave them tip but most of them didnt deserve. We asked for stuffs and they frequently forgot and we ended looking for them, even water. In the entire place if we found 3 good friendly waitress it was too much. Also the food was not good, they didn't have good quality. We didn't have a bad time but we didnt enjoy it as expected. It was ok but not coming back, kind of disappointed on RIU.

Wonderful staff from arrival and during our stay, cleanliness throughout the entire property, quality dining options all day with great food, relaxation or entertainment on multiple joint properties, wonderful beachfront experience!

was not nice. The hotel was dirty and I have a problem and the staff did not help me. Very disappointing !

I'm an Orbitz traveler who looks for best rated hotels and a fair price. I'm not a picky person but I don't understand how this hotel is a 4-5 star resort. I don't go on vacation to spend time in the room but I would like the room to be decent while I'm there sleeping, resting or getting ready to go out. The rooms need a major upgrade, walls and tile were dirty, furniture was falling apart, frig was making lots of noise and the sink was leaking. TV had bad reception, phones didn't work for a few days and we actually did not have cold water for about 3 hours. Rooms felt muggy, no fans in the bathrooms to release the bathroom steam. Wi-Fi was great! Housekeeping was great, nice ladies and they did their best to keep things clean but they can't clean things that are worn out. Half the staff was nice, other half didn't appear too happy, we found a great waitress, Elisa, and stuck to her. The grounds of the hotel are great, I wish they had the same dedication to the rooms and food. I have traveled 24 out of the last 25 years (except the year my daughter was born) and this is the first time that I have gotten sick. 6 out of 7 people in our party got sick. Maybe it had to do with the fact that I saw roaches and flies in the Montecristo, which is the main buffet seating area. The beach was great, I never had to fight for chairs and palm trees provided plenty of shade. I would definitely go back to Punta Cana but I'm staying somewhere else...pay an extra $100-$200 to stay elsewhere

Roaches in the room. 1089, 3089. This had me paranoid. The hotel staff was nice. The food was average.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 7 days and upgraded at the front desk to VIP which is definitely the way to go! However, after speaking to numerous couples during our stay, they informed us that they upgraded too for a lower price which rubbed me the wrong way. Some of the staff is very friendly but the other half aren't..kind of rude to be honest. Everyone is a scam artist there and stay away from the Casino in Macao. All bars close early approximately 12am, there is only one bar (Sports Bar) which is open 24/7 but it is very small. I'm unsure of the legal drinking age in Dominican Republic but under aged girls (15-16 years old) were being sold liquor in the Sports Bar and left a mess inside as well as outside between the broken glasses and the vomit all over the place. The dancers are great and really made the entertainment at the resort. It is great if you just want to relax honestly and if relaxation is what you want then I suggest you upgrade to VIP. The beach is gorgeous with an exception of a lot of seaweed. I had a great time with my boyfriend but we definitely expected a little more.

My mom and I stayed here for 4 nights. The staff was pleasant and super friendly. The hotel itself was modern and very clean. Food was average. The pool staff and entertainment was great as well. It's right on the beach so it was truly a perfect vacation. Overall, I would recommend this resort.
