very nice place, beautiful staff, nice pool area,we love Riu PalaceBavaro...

This was an excellent resort!!! The rooms were nice and clean, the food was awesome, the staff was out of this world, and the beach was beautiful. I would definitely go back.

I had traveled with my two daughters and it was overall a good experience. The beach is wonderful, safe. Nice pool. The property does not have WiFi in the rooms, only in the lobby, which makes it inconvenient. The sink is outside the toilet. The staff are courteous but not friendly. The property is older and so is the furniture. We had opted to stay there because of our wonderful experience at Puerto Vallarta in Mexico and it fell short.

The staff is very attentive, but the room could have been a bit more comfortable.

We were really disappointed during our stay. First, the food quality. We were very sick for 5 days with diarrhea and high fever. We had never experienced anything so bad in any of the resorts. We've complained to the management several times. All we've told is to go to a doctor, and not that the management will test the food and meals preparation. It's turned out that many people were sick of the seafood condition and not well prepared meals. It was hard to find a food to eat safely after been so sick. Second, the hot pool in the SPA was only little warm, and not hot for most of the time of our stay. The SPA staff always had an excuse: the manager took the keys and went to eat outside (at 9 am in the morning!),the problem with electricity when electricity works fine everywhere in the SPA except hot tub and etc. This was especially inconvenient when it was unusually heavy rain for most of our 10 nights stay.Third, our phone was NOT returned by the pool's bar waitress to the hotel's "Lost and found" in the lobby or us, the owners. We forgot our phone on the bench near the pool. A hotel guest who was sitting near us found it, and immediately asked a waitress what to do with a found phone. The waitress took it and gave it to a man who was not even a hotel guest without checking his identity. The actions of the hotel staff and one of the hotel directors Miguel were unprofessional and abusive. The proper investigation was not done. The waitress's actions were covered by management.

Beautiful hotel. Delicious food. The staff made sure you have everything you need and feel welcomed. The room was clean and well kept. The only two downsides and open concept of the room in case you share it with a friend not and spouse or significant other, it's not very convenient. The other one is the wifi. It only worked in our room and the lobby. It helped us to disconnect but if you actually needed it, it could be inconvenient.

Everything about our Riu Palace Bavaro experience was excellent. The employees were very friendly and helpful everywhere including the restaurant, the room cleaning service, the front desk, etc. The food at the buffet (Montecristo restaurant) was superb, they had everything, and everything looked fresh, clean and very appetizing. The waiters were ready to get you anything that may not have been available at the buffet. Junior, one of the waiters, was very helpful and friendly, He made us feel very welcomed. I recommend you seat at his area. The beaches are beyond amazing, the color of the water, the temperature, the waves, the sand, and the palm trees. It was breathtaking! We did not hit the pools, but they looked very inviting with the tables and the bar inside the pool. The entertainment at the end of the day was a little silly and annoying. The live band was good but the master of ceremonies was annoying after a couple of nights hearing the word "excelente". One thing that is not part of the resort, but it's available through them, is the Adventure Boogie. You are taken to a cave with a natural pool and to a beautiful beach, but you only get to spend ten minutes at each, but to get those points you get to drive this extremely polluting and noisy boogies for 1 1/2 hours. We found this activity an insult to the environment and to the poor people who live in the area.

The food was excellent so did the staffs. I would love to go back next summer

Beautiful resort and the staff were very kind and friendly. Would recommend to anyone wanting a great vacation. Tons of food (delicious food). All inclusive is the best. Swim up pools and tons of free alcohol. Beaches were amazing. Safari was great! Bring the entire family.

Great hotel, good food, great location and very nice beach

The resort was amazing. It's a beautiful clean, modern resort. My only complain was that the food lacks flavor, and the buffet doesnt have much variety, its the same every night. The restaurants are and hit or miss on their dishes as well.

Beautiful beach. Definitely will return with our children next time.

We stayed at Riu Palace Bavaro the first week of April 2016. The staff greeted us nicely and respectively. THE ROOM- They layout of the room is different, a toilet and door, a shower and shower door, two sinks, and a tub in middle of room with a curtain. I was on this trip with my boyfriend and we requested a king size bed but much to our surprise were given two full size beds pushed together. So we slept in two separate beds the 5 days we stayed. We liked the deck and didnt expect to use it as much as we did and regretted not getting an ocean/beach/pool view. We had the garden view which was basically a view of the garbage trucks. There's a safe in the room which we used for some of our belongings. There's a mini fridge in the room that is restocked every two days with water, club soda, soda. There's also a liquor dispenser but we did not use it. There was a coffee machine in the room, mugs, glasses, hair dryer, and soap. We had the housekeeper come every other day. We left the housekeeper a tip on the days we requested service. She left us a fancy towel art. Very pleased with the housekeeping services. THE FOOD- The buffet offers many options but I would rate the food a 4 out of 5 because it was pretty basic. For dinner, one thing I really liked was the gnocchi with pesto sauce from the pasta station. For lunch, the plantains were delicious. For breakfast, the smoothies, fresh fruit, and omelettes were my favorite. For restaurants you need a reservation and this could only be done from one restaurant in the morning, La Bambola. We ate at two restaurants. Geisha- loved it! Went with white wine. We were given 8 rolls to start. Then a choice of appetizer- I went with shrimp spring rolls. Next a choice of entree- I had sweet and sour pork. Finally dessert- I had a wonderful cannoli that was very different from the classic Italian cannoli but still very delicious and fresh. La Bambola- OK. Red wine was good. Appetizers are buffet style, had salad, fried spinach ball was great. Entree- mushroom and truffle oil lasagna with cheese and sauce. Dessert- limoncella cake. I think La Bambola made me sick because on our last day, the morning after dinner I woke up with diarrhea that continued throughout the day. I had to buy ALKA- AD from the gift shop. (Recommended that people pack Imodium with them. All products in gift shop are double the price as in the US. We ran out of sunscreen and spent $30 on one). Krystal- had to cancel because I was sick THE DRINKS- pool bar drinks are small but not watered down like other review I have seen. I recommend the pina coladas. I did not like the mojtos. Pina Colada from buffet was wonderful and a bit strong for me. I had the margarita from the entertainment bar at night and it was great. EXCURSIONS- we did the 3 hour snorkel, swim with sharks, meet a giant sting ray, touch a star fish, natural pool. it was so much fun! it costed us $148 but worth it. only complaint was felt rushed swimming with the sharks. There are some free things offered like kayaking but we didnt try these because of sunburn. SERVICE- all staff was polite, helpful, attentive AMBIANCE- clean, modern, beautiful THE POOL- clean, warm, plenty of seats THE BEACH- ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL...This was our favorite part! There are plenty of chairs, many palm trees, the water is BLUE. There are vendors that come around selling fresh coconut water- get one!

RIU Palace Bavaro is conveniently located in proximity to PUJ airport. The grounds are spectacular, service is outstanding and food options seem endless. The decor is modern and sophisticated. The only downside is that the hotel features a closed-air lobby which contributes to a slightly musty odor.

It was alright, tough language barrier. Was too hard and aggravating to communicate with the staff. Would have thought it have much less language barrier as they did at the riu in jamaica

My boyfriend and I had booked this trip to get away for the week. We had an amazing time and would love to go back there again! The staff was very friendly and helpful which made our trip that much better. Rooms were cleaned daily. Food was great overall. Would deff recommend!

I really enjoyed my hotel experience. Staff was very friendly. There were always different activities going on each day- which I really enjoyed. The buffet food surpassed my expectations. The only thing that I didn't lik about this hotel was that the wifi only worked well in the lobby area. I had a really weak connection in my room as well as by the pool areas.

Great stay. Went to get married which was horrible. Beautiful scenery but mixed our cake up with another couples that were also getting married. Also they said they would deliver remainder of cake that night to our room. Cake didn't come until next morning in which you can tell that left the cake outside overnight due to the thousands (literally) of ants that covered the cake. Worst part of the trip was our wedding, other than this it was a beautiful scenery staff very attentive. Food was a 7 out of 10. Beach was wondrful. Wireless Internet barely worked but gave us a free upgrade

Yes the hotel meet the expectations and staffs are greats.

The personal was fabulous great entertainment. Overall we had a very good vacation and on a budget. I will recommend to rent a car to travel to different beaches
