The room, the view, the food

The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Third time we stays at this hotel chain and will never stay anyplace else.

The best part of the the property is that it’s in close proximity to other Riu resorts. Which you can visit at any time.

My husband and I had a great stay at the Riu Palace. From the food to the drinks we were pleased with everything. The food wasn’t bad at all. While they do have 5 restaurants, we actually enjoyed the food on the buffet better than the restaurants. The pools are nice. We didn’t have any problems getting beach or pool chairs. The bartenders will be very attentive as long as you tip them. I read other people reviews regarding the locals on the beach trying to sell you any & everything, but if you just tell them you’re not interested they just leave. The COVID test was easy to get for entry back into my home country as they test at the hotel for free. They say you’ll get results in 24 hours in your email, but more than likely you’ll have to go to the front desk to get the results. My only complaint for Riu is there is no night life after 11 on the property, but that wouldn’t stop me from staying here again.

When we arrived to our room there were no towels and had to call a few times downstairs for us to get any. Toilet didn’t work the whole week we were there despite calls for that too. We had to rig it every so often to get it to flush. Not the kind of thing I had in mind of doing especially on a vacation. The ocean made everything worth it though. Overall pretty good experience.

This hotel is not safe for your health!! The room was filthy and the sheets creeped us out, yellow stains on the bed sheets, hairs everywhere, white semen on the couch, mirrors are covered by rust, floor was so dirty you even can see the footprints of previous guests. We did complain to the reception, the guy said what do you like us to do? What do you expect an answer from a guest?! very disappointing! They offered another room, but it was the same disgusting room. Jacuzzi was filfy, dirty balcony, broken AC, and I can keep going. Food was tasteless, dirty pool and dirty sunbeds. We felt uncomfotable the whole time we were there because the reception guys stood behind a plexiglass barrier with a sign on it about safety in Covid...and didn't wear a mask! People are dying of this stuff and we are in a high-risk category. The management of this hotel should be ashamed at what they are letting the employees get away with. We stayed one night, and checked out the next day because we didn't feel safe. But they refused to refund our money back for the nights we didn't stay!!! Please stay away from this place! Rude staff, didn't help us, didn't wear masks, room was so filfy that it's dangerous for your health!!! I hope this draw attention from the upper management.

Old hotel, not properly maintained. Service is very restricted and foos quality is really bad. Not worth the price, not to be visited again

The communication was very difficult especially if you do not speak fluent Spanish. The food was lacking and they would close the stations abruptly.

The staff was very friendly but I didn’t like the food. It was quantity over quality. Just did not taste good. The breakfast was the best of the food. My room was nice which I loved because we were VIP but my room stayed damp all the time. Overall I had a good time but food needs a major upgrade.

First time at this hotel and I give it a 9/10 because of the COVID-19 restrictions
