I stayed here with my boyfriend for 7 days and upgraded at the front desk to VIP which is definitely the way to go! However, after speaking to numerous couples during our stay, they informed us that they upgraded too for a lower price which rubbed me the wrong way. Some of the staff is very friendly but the other half aren't..kind of rude to be honest. Everyone is a scam artist there and stay away from the Casino in Macao. All bars close early approximately 12am, there is only one bar (Sports Bar) which is open 24/7 but it is very small. I'm unsure of the legal drinking age in Dominican Republic but under aged girls (15-16 years old) were being sold liquor in the Sports Bar and left a mess inside as well as outside between the broken glasses and the vomit all over the place. The dancers are great and really made the entertainment at the resort. It is great if you just want to relax honestly and if relaxation is what you want then I suggest you upgrade to VIP. The beach is gorgeous with an exception of a lot of seaweed. I had a great time with my boyfriend but we definitely expected a little more.

My mom and I stayed here for 4 nights. The staff was pleasant and super friendly. The hotel itself was modern and very clean. Food was average. The pool staff and entertainment was great as well. It's right on the beach so it was truly a perfect vacation. Overall, I would recommend this resort.

The resort beach, pools and buildings were wonderful. The shows and activities were fun. The proximity to other Riu properties was a bonus. The resort contained two distinct parts, a main- kid friendly area with a lively vibe, and a separate VIP section with smaller more private villas with dedicated pools and bars, for a quieter, more relaxing experience

I was down there for a wedding and they messed up my reservations for 2 and I had to pay an extra $440

The beach is beautiful, and I especially loved the palm trees that filled the Riu beach. The restaurant staff and bar staff is friendly and great. The resort itself, however, was not what I expected. Access to bars is limited if not VIP, so it was deceiving. The food was good, but not exceptional. The buildings and rooms were very worn. The walkways, stair wells, and floors need vacuuming. The sweeping is not picking up enough, so the place could be cleaner. I will return to Punta Cana, but will select a different resort.

Beach is beautiful. Work up to drinks yelling in the hallway and courtyard many times last week. Several times after 3 AM. Complained to mgr. about specific room, but many people were wasted nightly. Young people on spring break were mildly annoying, but others in 20's and 30'a were way more wild. Couples and people with kids should think twice before coming here. Other 2 trips to Rui properties were much better.

Me encanto el lugar, la comida , los restaurants... la playa estaba espectacular y las piscinas bellas!! estoy muy contenta con mis vacaciones tanto mi familia como yo.

We enjoyed sitting under the palm trees near the beach. The pool area was fun to sit around. We enjoyed the front office staff, waiters, waitresses. Our maid did an excellent job with our room - doing all the little extras. We had a great time. So many food options"

I've heard so much rave about the RIU establishment. I will be honest I was pleased at the variety of eatery they had and that the food was very delightful. A little better finger food would put this resort on the map at a five star.. Room Service is the worst ever in my life, especially if it is going to be 24 hrs. It was limited to three item. Nachos. Ham sandwich, and a Caesar salad. If you are going to make a Cesar salad do it the right way. The dressing was mayo poured over the pieces of chicken and lettuce, not nice at all. Desert was a fruit platter which is the best overall. Chesse cake nasty, chocolate cake nasty. I would prefer chips or cookies.. As I said a disappointment for all inclusive Food wise, but the resort I did enjoy

Several people complained about roaches including my sister she had to change rooms. The place looked nice except for the roach experience. Food was ok could be better so I didn't eat much. House keeping didn't come everyday. I had to call and when they finally came they forgot to put wash cloths so I had to wait until next morning for that.

very nice place, beautiful staff, nice pool area,we love Riu PalaceBavaro...

This was an excellent resort!!! The rooms were nice and clean, the food was awesome, the staff was out of this world, and the beach was beautiful. I would definitely go back.

I had traveled with my two daughters and it was overall a good experience. The beach is wonderful, safe. Nice pool. The property does not have WiFi in the rooms, only in the lobby, which makes it inconvenient. The sink is outside the toilet. The staff are courteous but not friendly. The property is older and so is the furniture. We had opted to stay there because of our wonderful experience at Puerto Vallarta in Mexico and it fell short.

The staff is very attentive, but the room could have been a bit more comfortable.

We were really disappointed during our stay. First, the food quality. We were very sick for 5 days with diarrhea and high fever. We had never experienced anything so bad in any of the resorts. We've complained to the management several times. All we've told is to go to a doctor, and not that the management will test the food and meals preparation. It's turned out that many people were sick of the seafood condition and not well prepared meals. It was hard to find a food to eat safely after been so sick. Second, the hot pool in the SPA was only little warm, and not hot for most of the time of our stay. The SPA staff always had an excuse: the manager took the keys and went to eat outside (at 9 am in the morning!),the problem with electricity when electricity works fine everywhere in the SPA except hot tub and etc. This was especially inconvenient when it was unusually heavy rain for most of our 10 nights stay.Third, our phone was NOT returned by the pool's bar waitress to the hotel's "Lost and found" in the lobby or us, the owners. We forgot our phone on the bench near the pool. A hotel guest who was sitting near us found it, and immediately asked a waitress what to do with a found phone. The waitress took it and gave it to a man who was not even a hotel guest without checking his identity. The actions of the hotel staff and one of the hotel directors Miguel were unprofessional and abusive. The proper investigation was not done. The waitress's actions were covered by management.

Beautiful hotel. Delicious food. The staff made sure you have everything you need and feel welcomed. The room was clean and well kept. The only two downsides and open concept of the room in case you share it with a friend not and spouse or significant other, it's not very convenient. The other one is the wifi. It only worked in our room and the lobby. It helped us to disconnect but if you actually needed it, it could be inconvenient.

Everything about our Riu Palace Bavaro experience was excellent. The employees were very friendly and helpful everywhere including the restaurant, the room cleaning service, the front desk, etc. The food at the buffet (Montecristo restaurant) was superb, they had everything, and everything looked fresh, clean and very appetizing. The waiters were ready to get you anything that may not have been available at the buffet. Junior, one of the waiters, was very helpful and friendly, He made us feel very welcomed. I recommend you seat at his area. The beaches are beyond amazing, the color of the water, the temperature, the waves, the sand, and the palm trees. It was breathtaking! We did not hit the pools, but they looked very inviting with the tables and the bar inside the pool. The entertainment at the end of the day was a little silly and annoying. The live band was good but the master of ceremonies was annoying after a couple of nights hearing the word "excelente". One thing that is not part of the resort, but it's available through them, is the Adventure Boogie. You are taken to a cave with a natural pool and to a beautiful beach, but you only get to spend ten minutes at each, but to get those points you get to drive this extremely polluting and noisy boogies for 1 1/2 hours. We found this activity an insult to the environment and to the poor people who live in the area.

The food was excellent so did the staffs. I would love to go back next summer

Beautiful resort and the staff were very kind and friendly. Would recommend to anyone wanting a great vacation. Tons of food (delicious food). All inclusive is the best. Swim up pools and tons of free alcohol. Beaches were amazing. Safari was great! Bring the entire family.

Great hotel, good food, great location and very nice beach
