We stood at the RIU Palace in June 2025: family of 5. The RIU Palace Punta Cana is an older facility. Check in: Check in was pretty painless not a huge line. However, other all inclusive will usually have someone who tags your bags while you wait for the room and that didn't happen. There was no one there to greet you with a drink as some other places do. Lastly, there was no working taking you bags to the room, you have to do it yourself. Not a deal breaker. Restaurants: The buffet were great, the food was awesome and there was no shortage of locations to eat. At night, unlike other resorts where you make appointments for ala carte restaurants, RIU you had to be there a "hope" there was space available. The Japanese/Sushi place was our first stop the worst experience, carried around a pager for 2 hours without getting into the restaurant. Beach: was full of seaweed and unusable for most of the stay. They did clean it up, so we went in for one day. Outside excursions: We planned for one, but the front desk made a mistake and wouldn't let the front gate know we were getting picked up. The front desk made our family walk about .5 miles to the gate for no reason. The gate guard told us the excursion would pick us up. Room: We had adjoining rooms. The rooms were older, AC was not crisp. The outlets were so fragile we couldn't charge our phones with wiggling the power cord. Our shower was leaking from the control valve, we put a ticket but it was not resolved.

The entire place is beautiful, and friendly. Mailena the lobby receptionist is amazing really stole our hearts, very very friendly and helpful, she won’t hesitate to help always on time and good spirit, the best!!!

This was my first time doing an all inclusive resort and I must say I was disappointed. The food was either frozen, not fully cooked, or too salty. The staff was ok depending on who you got. Some of them seemed annoyed

Overall it was a great experience, food was good and very friendly staff. The house keeping on the other hand wasn’t the best. The bed sheets were dirty and had stains. Also the pillows smelled and the bed decor had a bad odor.
