We got checked in and went to our rooms. They were musted and molded. We check at least 6 rooms some were worst than others. We hadtocall Orbits and found another Hotel to stay at.

Cons: Hotel is old, moisture in the room, ROOD AND UNPROFESSIONAL RECEPTION!!! Pros: Great food, alcohol, skilled waitress, great beachfront, territory overall.

Over all this particular hotel needs a lot of updating in order to compete with other 4 star hotels. The drinks were horrible with a minimal selection and the food was above average with a nice variety .The staff was excellent, beautiful beach. The grounds well maintained but the rooms are in severe need of maintenance and updating. This is definitely a 3 star hotel!

Food was OK, thank God they had 5 restaurants enjoyed 3 of them. Only had 3 beach days, 1 rain wash out, 3 very windy days. Room service was good people were nice!

Everything in the hotel is good the only thing they have bad is the wifi

Lovely setting, very welcoming and friendly staff. WiFi and phone reception - doesn't work in rooms. Room smelled musty, and clothes in closet for one week became musty.

While there I sat on a plastic chair on my deck which broke underneath me causing me to fall. I called to the front deck asking for the Manager to report the incident but he was not available only to find out he had to go back and take a nap. After having 4 back surgeries and now having pain and numbness in my leg I wanted to see the doctor. After an hour he did arrive and sent me by ambulance to the hospital. After 2 hours and an cat scan the doctor told me I fractured my traverse process of my L5. She wanted to hospitalize me until I left which was 2 days later. Treatment for this is bedrest for 3 weeks and medication. I decided to return to the hotel to rest due to conditions of the hospital. Once I returned to the hotel and spoke with the Manger asking him for an incident report for this he became very rude and defensive. He refused to give me any kind of report for me to verify what had happened. At this point he began to insult me told me the chair broke because I was fat and said that the hotel took care of hospital bill what more did I expect. He said he would let his corporate office know what happened. I spent the next day in the room resting I contacted the embassy in effort to try to get some help with an incident report. The Manager instructed his staff to charge me for calls I made. When I checked out I owed for phone calls but their cc was broken. The manager instructed his staff to tell me that they would let it go with a copy of my passport! NO WAY!!

Staff not good terrible service in the bar in the breakfast room restaurants etc food no good cheap drinks very bad in making drinks but the hotel was very nice the rooms and the beach when we got to the hotel no one help as with the luggage

2nd time at the Riu Palace Punta Cana and it was as good as I remember. We met some awesome people and had a wonderful time. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially if you enjoy the beach, the pool and the beauty of the place. Service is awesome. The people are so accommodating. Cant wait to get back.

La habitación es bastante grande y cómoda. La sugerencia que hago es que la televisión debe estar frente a la cama, y no donde está ubicada ahora. La Nevera deben retirar el hielo en el freezer(congelador). Creo necesita algún mantenimiento por el tiempo de construido.

Had a very bad experience with the taxi the hotel called for me on the way out. Driver drove very unsafe. The hotel lobby people have a scam going on with taxi they are loyal to.

Beautiful hotel, nice swimming pools and beach with bar-cocktail service, the staff is very friendly, variety of restaurants and food was good

Our stay at the Riu Palace wasnt anything perticularly special. I've stayed all throughout the caribbean and this ranks as somewhat mediocre. The staff was hit or miss, some staffers were really quite excellent while others appeared inattentive and disinterested. The room was quite large. I upgraded for the larger suite and balcony and it was likely the largest suite I've had to date. The food was, in my honest opinion, subpar. The food portion is by far the aspect needing attention by hotel management. On the plus side, the beach experience was positive, with availability to items for water activities it made for a really pleasant beach experience. Overall the resort is clean and decent, just not something that would stand out to a patron.

I was expecting a much better experience from this "four or five star" hotel. The staff were rude, and impolite. The worst experience I had was when money $1,500 U.S. dollars was stolen from the Safety box inside my room. I filed a complaint with the managers of the hotel stating that the money was stolen and they did not do anything. They claimed that because the safety box was not broken, that they were unable to refund the money. I even went to the extent of filing a police report, and even with the police report, they still refused to give me the money. I was told they would file an investigation to see who stole the money (either the cleaning crew, or the crew that filed the mini bar) but once again, my money was no where to be found. This was a horrible, experience.

Arriving to the hotel the first thing we saw were roaches at the lobby. Then we went to receive our room key at the front desk and we were told our room was given away to someone else. The staff was not polite or empathetic with our concerns. When we finally received a room and arrived at it, the room was completely filthy. There was no air conditioning, the tv was not working properly, the toilet was really filthy.We changed rooms four times and each time we had the same issues.The water in the pool was cloudy and dirty, and the activities in the pool were only an hour a day during an exact time and then there was no more entertainment or music played in the pool area. The entertainment was definitely not the greatest. The restaurants had no air conditioner at all. At the Brazilian restaurant, the floor was filled with grease and the place was dirty. There was no air conditioner anywhere in the hotel just in the rooms and it was not working properly.The staff of the hotel was not nice nor polite, when they would pass by they wouldn't say hello or even smile. It was rude and made one feel not welcome. When we tried speaking to the Director regarding the concerns we were told we would have to wait all day for him to pass by or be present that he did not have a specific time he would be at the hotel.We paid for a hotel that is said to have 4.2 stars out of 5 online and 5 stars per the staff, but to us, it is not even worth one. We are very unhappy with our stay!!

I loved everything about this place. Food, staff, drinks non-stop, amazing beach front. My only complain is that the room felt humid and moggy all the time. We had a lot of fun with all the staff. Big thanks to our favorite guy, "Parranda" who made sure we didn't missed a game and we were having fun throughout our stay
