We stayed there only 2 days of seven because ac problems in two rooms and the entire hotel started to do renovations while our family was there. The staff and Joel (manager of service made us transfer to the Mirage. They did the best to make us happy in the Mirage (new hotel). The colonial staff is very friendly and warm that we walk every day to visit their restaurants. There are no words to describe the staff. From 1 to 10 I give them 20. Yes the hotel needs renovations. My experience in the Mirage was good too. Helena,the manager is very professional and friendly and gave us 2 rooms one beside the other one for our 2 families. What I do not like about this hotel is that is too modern to my taste (decorations, paint and trees are not fully grown of course is a new hotel). The rooms are the best, double ac systems, Jacuzzi, and a huge balcony. We went to the Elegance and we liked the design,and how is decorated it better. The theater is the best. I think overall my experience was great despite the problems we faced the first two days. What made a difference was how well I was treated. They treat you like a family and not like a customer. What a difference!!. If I have to describe the Colonial (oldest one) I would said that they are the best in terms how to treat the people (family friendly. The Elegance is the most beautiful of three (landscaping, paint and decorations) I do not include rooms because we have not slept there. Pool tiles needs maintenance.

This hotel was a dream vacation for our honeymoon! The food options were great and delicious, the entertainment was amazing, and the facilities and beach were stunning! Everything was taken care of and we were just there to enjoy- I cannot wait to go again and will definitely recommend this place to all our family and friends

Went in August 2017 and had a great time. Even though the place is beautiful, you can definitely tell that they need to renovate. Nonetheless, I do not regret my decision to stay at the Majestic Colonial. We had room 2246 on the family side which faced the pool and had ocean view. Nice perks to the room upgrade were 4 bottles of alcohol in the room upon arrival and free room service. Spacious room although the bathroom fixtures were old and the bedding and towels are due for some upgrading (they were thin and rough). Loved how the pool spanned the building which allowed for the guests to spread out and not feel on top of each other in the pool. There were so many chairs to lay around the pool and loved the tiki huts that provided shade. Pool activities were great and if you didn't want to be near the noise and hustle of the activities, the other end of the pool was chill and relaxing. Food was ok at the steak and seafood restaurants, better at the Japanese and the best at the Mexican. They could definitely benefit from upping their food preparation quality and adding a couple more restaurants to the resort, especially for breakfast/lunch as you had the least choices to go to for those meals. Main Buffet was always good. Didn't catch every show but the staff were entertaining. Kids water area felt like an oven as no breeze was able to penetrate the walls surrounding it. Overall though I loved the hotel and look forward to coming back after the renovations.

I really cannot say enough great things about this resort and the time we had down there for our honeymoon. We will definitely be back to the Majestic Colonial! Location, rooms, outside amenities, beach, staff, cleanliness, etc etc etc are all A++ and just amazing. Highly recommend.

Aside from a few really nice servers, customer service was lacking. The main lobby bar is the best. Marilyn is a great waitress. Friendly and she hussled. The pool bartenders were the worst. They would disappear for 15 minutes at a time. It didn't matter if you gave them a $10 or a $1 dollar tip. You got the same awful service. I think the hotel had one waitress for pool side because you only saw her every 4 hours or so. It took the hotel 5 days to respond to our requests to fix a leak in the bathroom ceiling. The Funjestic staff is great and worked hard to entertain. Overall....I'll not go back. Hotel grounds are pretty but not worth it because of the lack of service.

Everything was immaculate besides the food at the restaurant on the beach. That food was horrible. The rooms were great but the AC isn't cold and the drainage system in the bathroom doesn't function properly so some of the water settled in the bathroom. Besides that, everything else was on point.

Getting towels for pool beach difficult. Often "out" of towels before noon. Water was off for 12 hours on a Saturday. Poor staff communication with guests regarding outage. Food was ok. Lots of seaweed in water and snorkeling off beach not good. Crowded.

Excellent, amazing , beatifull hotel , the atention of the staff was excellent

We had difficulty finding out the first day where to get towels for the beach and the pool. We found out you needed a towel card. I do not believe this was explained to us when we checked in, but we checked in late in the evening. In the afternoon, they ran out of clean towels. We really liked having access to the Colonial Club room.

Upon arrival we made our way to the checkin desk where the staff were rude by purposely ignoring us. No one welcomed us they just kept walking back and forth shuffling paper work talking amongst themselves while we stood there. After 10 mins they collected our passports my parents were staying in the adults only section while my husband baby and I were staying in the family section ... the receptionist Jom took my parents through the VIP section telling us we could not follow them to the adults only section which was fine however he left us in the lobby waiting with an infant in the swealtering heat for so long I revisited the check in desk to find out he made a copy of my Id but never checked us in ... and therefore I had to wait and start the process all over again . Next diaster was our room located on the first floor on the garden side. Right away we noticed the Air conditioning was awful the room barely got cold and was always super humid. The room was not clean there was mold in the jacuzzi tub the shower was so dirty I wore flip flops in the shower reminded me of a college dorm at best. The knobs for the showers and sinks were rusted and there were insects throughout the room. The bed is beyond firm and the comforter feels like sandpaper. Food overall was okay.The supreme buffet had a good variety of all you can eat food. The pools are well kept and very nice however getting towels is Nightmare and their system is ridiculous beware !!!!

Great experience Only complaint was the colonial club members side was out of beach towels And will not give you towel Which they had plenty of from the other side of the hotel

This hotel is by far the best all-inclusive resort I have ever stayed at, hence my return for a second time. Top shelf liquor is a rarity in an all-inclusive resort at this price but they had every kind of top shelf drinks that you can think of. The airline managed to lose my luggage and it was not there when I arrived at the airport. I left to the hotel without it and asked for their help.They did everything they could to retrieve it and within 4 hours it was personally delivered to my room. Great job by the whole team! I recommend the Colonial Club, you get VIP treatment and a butler....... well worth it! The room, the pools, the restaurants, the shows every night all get 5 stars! A fantastic place to vacation and I will return again soon.

Our first experience at the Majestic Colonial Club. Wow, what an awesome vacation. We will definitely travel back there. Our Butler, Rimiro was so attentive. All the staff were friendly and full of energy. The resort is beautiful, weather was awesome, Ocean was gorgeous, food was delish, and drinks grwat too! Go and enjoy for yourself!

Very nice hotel, food is good, specially the French restaurant & buffet. The waiter Luis is excellent. Please watch out the room cleaning staffs, my daughter's Nikon camera and dollar bills were stolen, this is for sure it was happened in our room, she put the dollar bills in her waist bag that her uncle gave her inside the room and never brought the bag outside the room during our staying.
