The customer service was not the top tier, my room door was not locking after a while, but a technician was sent, requested towels 3,657 times, never got them until i saw room service in hallway, and my transfer to the never showed up

Had a great time at RIU Palace Macao. Friendly and attentive staff. The food was great at Krystal restaurant and the nightly entertainment was fun. I was happily surprised that they decorated our room for my wife’s birthday and they went out of their way to make her feel special. We would definitely be returning.

Pro: This is a nice size resort and not too big, just what we were looking for. Cons: 1. our balcony had pigeons nesting in the roof rafters, lots of noise and feathers everywhere every day so could not use the balcony. Our room was on 4th floor room, North wing. Cons 2: There was not any Canadian whiskey at any of the bars. ie. Canadian Club even though I did see it listed on a bar menu. It would be nice to offer this to the Canadian guests! Thanks, Bill.

All the staff we encountered were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and had great energy. The resort was nice and clean, and beach was beautiful. Highly recommend this resort and I will most certinaly be returning!!

We took our adult children on a family trip and Riu Macao fit nicely! Great pools, beach, variety of food, and fun entertainment. The RiuFit and Entertainment staff was fun and anyone had activities to fit their personality style. The patio buffet had an amazing assortment of food to fit tastes and all the restaurants on property we delicious. We felt the wait staff and entertainment were family and it was sad to leave at the end.

We loved having the sister hotels nearby so we could leave our property to visit more spots in a safe, easy way. The staff’s personalities were phenomenal and made all the activities a blast. We felt cared for every where we went.

Excellent resort and superbly maintained property. I wish there was more choice of restaurants or cuisines, like genuine Mexican and Dominican dishes. Also, having bar soap in a room would be great!

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to express our disappointment and frustration following our recent stay at Riu Republica & Maco Palace. As a loyal customers who have stayed at various Riu properties around the world, I never anticipated having to write such a complaint, especially after so many positive visits in the past. However, my last stay at Riu Republica especially was nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel it is necessary to bring these issues to your attention: 1.Bed Bugs: The most concerning issue was the presence of bed bugs in our room. Attached are pictures as evidence. This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a reputable brand like Riu. 2.Room Key Card Issues: Throughout our stay, the key cards to our room failed consistently. We were forced to go to the front desk every night to get new cards to access our room, which was both inconvenient and frustrating. 3.Lack of Pool Towels: There was a persistent lack of towels at the pool, making it difficult for us to enjoy the amenities that we paid for. 4.Mildew and Health Concerns: The room had a significant mildew problem, which caused my asthma to flare up. This added unnecessary health risks to what was already a stressful experience. 5.Insects: We also encountered several insects in the room, including large roaches, which further contributed to the unsatisfactory conditions. Additionally, I encountered issues at Riu Palace Maco:Overcharging/Duplicate Fees

I purchased an Elite room thru Expedia but was checked into an inferior room which costs much less with no explanation from the staff. Only when I was taken to the assigned room did I discover that fact. I went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager, Ceseare who agreed to provide the correct room the following day which he did. He also agreed to process a refund to Expedia for the night stayed. That has not happened yet after two weeks. I emailed the hotel but have not received a response yet. The service at the resort was very good and my wife and I really enjoyed the Elite dining experiences at three of the restaurants. The swim pool was beautiful and my wife loved it. Since they had other pools I didn’t think it was necessary to have the small pool at an extra $150/night. But it made her happy. Lots of drinks and food and top shelf liquor in our room. Love the hotel. I just want the refund promised.

We loved everything about our week at RIU Palace Macao. We did the Elite Club and would definitely recommend it. The swim-up suite was everything! The only complaint was that the Elite Club room service food menu was NOT good compared to literally everything else; all the other food on the property was mostly excellent. The restaurants were great. Kabuki was our least favorite out of all of them, but it was still delicious! It’s a lot of small bites so go ahead and order everything haha. We look forward to checking out all the rest of the RIU properties in other countries!
