I booked this hotel for my honeymoon and what sold me was the swim up pool. Check in was great however, when we got to our room, we realize that it did not have a swimming pool nor was it the honeymoon suite we booked. When we call down, we were informed that the room was l oversold and someone should have reached out to us prior to arrival, but that never happened. This was an epic fail in a horrible way to start our vacation. Although the people were nice our room had water bugs and roaches. I’ll never stay here again.

Beware! The rooms have roaches! It’s odd that sites purport this property as five stars. It is an old property that doesn’t appear to have been updated in decades. The showers are old and have worms and roaches coming up through the drain. And there was an awful sewage smell in the rooms. Depending on which staff member you engaged with, you were treated with kindness or annoyance, which made for a pretty inconsistent over-all service experience. The only good thing about this location is the spa. The services were great and the therapists were amazing.

Staff was all kind and attentive and food was better than most other all inclusives we have stayed at. However, non-potable water out of sinks, and upset stomachs all week from either food or bar drinks was terrible. Property was not well maintained. Mold on walls specifically the wall bed was on through wallpaper, mold in shower, and musty in room all week. Our bedding felt wet all week.(even with damp rid bags) Smoking anywhere on property is not normal at any other resorts we have been at. Only in designated areas. This was not nice for us non smokers as people were smoking everywhere. There was a marijuana smell the whole week around the property. Large cockroach in Cubana bar which ruined the vibe for the evening we wanted to spend in there. Would not return to this resort.

Update: hotel denies my calls I constantly get hung up on saying the hotel manager doesn’t speak with guest and then I get hung up on this is very unprofessional. Expedia has still been waiting to hear back from the manager of the hotel on the refund and complaint center isn’t helping either. This is the service and 3 different rooms you get staying here. Let’s not also forget about one of the room smelling like straight throw up and an electrician coming in the second room (not kidding) one minute after getting in the room, and the rash I got from taking a Power Nap on top of the covers for less than 2 hours. RIU Macao knows how to reach me. It was our honeymoon. We intended to stay there from September 1 to September 7 for our honeymoon The first day of arrival we received the worst service very unwelcoming. Our first hotel room was a two bed when we asked for a one bed they then put us in a one bedroom that was atrocious not even one minute after arriving someone knocked on our door, which was an electrician saying he was asked to come to this room. There was mold on the ceilings mold in the lights lights were not working the bathroom smelled of throw up ,there were spiders hanging down from an open ventilation system, right above the door lights were not working and there were open outlets exposing wall. We then got a third room the AC wasn’t working. Spiders were crawling out from underneath the bed. It looked like a crime scene on the walls with neon green splatter all

Great pool, beautiful beach, great food, only downfall was the bugs in the rooms. Had ants in one room so got moved and killed multiple roaches in that room. There was also roach bait set up around the room so it’s a common issue

I am writing to express my disappointment with our recent stay at your resort. My husband and I chose RIU for our honeymoon, expecting an enjoyable and relaxing experience, but unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied with the service and the quality of the food during our visit. One major issue we encountered was with our room’s television. It stopped working early one morning, so we called the front desk around 9:00 a.m. to have it repaired. We never received a follow-up, so we stopped by the front desk later that afternoon and were told it would be fixed soon. When we returned to our room that evening, nothing had been done. I called the front desk again to ask about the repair, and the staff member hung up on me mid-conversation. My husband then went down to the front desk himself, and we were told to pack all of our belongings so we could be moved to another room. After packing everything, a staff member arrived at our door with a replacement TV instead—one that still didn’t fully work, as half the screen was dark. We ended up unpacking everything again, only to still have a broken TV. The entire situation was handled very unprofessionally and caused unnecessary frustration on what was supposed to be a special trip. To make matters worse, I became extremely ill from the food at the resort and had to visit the emergency room after returning to the United States. This experience was extremely disappointing, especially given that this was our honeymoon. We feel

We went for my 70th birthday they really surprised me. It was very memorable thanks to a wonderful gentleman at the buffet don't know his full name he said call him Dog which was first part of his name. He is an outstanding person he acknowledged us everytime he saw us. Everyone was very helpful and professional. Thank you Riu Palace Macao

From check in to check out it wasnt a good experience, room smelled like mold and mildew. called the front desk 4 times for them to come fix it. First time they sprayed some then left. second time they sprayed something that was so strong like a bleach smell it made me gag. I had to continue to call the front desk because in the living room area separate from the room felt like the heater was on. It was so hot. The whole point of my upgrading the room to get the separate living room area so when my husband is sleep I can still get some work done and that couldn’t happen with it being extra hot in there. After the fourth time calling them coming twice and trying to fix it they moved our room. We moved from the 3rd to the 1st floor. Room smelled okay but the toilet was running and wouldn’t flush. So we called. Mind you this move was at 230AM. they sent maintenance to come fix it and he came and worked about 40 mins advised he would be back. About 45 mins passed and called the front desk back they advised he left for the night. We were so confused bc he said he would be right back. Communication is very poor there too. So their solution was to not use the restroom for 3-4 hours until he returned or we can move rooms back to the 3rd floor. So we moved rooms again around 4AM. It was so exhausting and tiring. I even asked many times to down grade the room so we could be on the first floor and they act like they didn’t have it available. We were so over it at this point. No compensa
