it's a wonderfull site with really open people and an excellent service thanks to ricardo
Chan-Kah has the feel of being in the jungle. The trees and shrubs are beautiful. The pool is clean and ample and the place is quiet and peaceful until the monkeys start to scream. That is exciting as well.
Really great place near the ruins. I’ll stay here next time i’m In the area.
Great service in every area. All the staff was very kind and very helpful. Delicious food, beautiful pool in the middle of the jungle great scenery.
Amazing hotel in the jungle, close to archeological site , we would love to visit again
We enjoyed our 4-day stay in this beautiful resort in the middle of the Palenque jungle. I am most impressed by the large, clean and inviting swimming pools facing the restaurant. We came during the slow season. Hardly any guests using the pools during our stay. I tried the spa treatments twice - very reasonably priced at about US$26/45 mins (then add at least 25-25% tip). The food at the restaurant was delicious and again, reasonably priced. On our 2nd night, our next door guests woke us up at 2 am, they were drinking and smoking very loudly at the adjacent balcony. They continued to be noisy until 4 am and even after I requested them to be quiet. I eventually called the reception desk and they apologized and moved us to another cottage way back to the other end of the resort. It was very inconvenient but we appreciate that the resort staffers handled our request fast.
Cabana's are amazing. Each room is a separate air conditioned structure with lots of windows that looks out on jungle. Feels very much like you are in the heart of Chiapas (which you are). The night we stayed there was an intense storm which really amplified this feeling. If we had stayed in our room the whole time, we would have rated this hotel much higher. Just about everything else is disappointing though. The pool is confusing and difficult to swim in because there are strange fake rock outcropping everywhere. The jacuzzi is actually just a small, unheated pool. We were turned away from the completely empty restaurant because we were wet from the pool. Food and drinks are terrible and incredibly overpriced - compounding this is that you're miles from town, so they have a bit of a monopoly. After getting our steep dinner bill, I asked them to add it to my room, which they were unable to do so I had to hike back to the room in a drenching rain & lightning storm to fetch cards. Some staff were friendly but most were checked out. We paid a bit extra to come here rather than a hostel and were disappointed. Go elsewhere.
