My wife and I spent the night here before flying from JFK. This is definitely a "no frills" hotel but we did get value for what we paid - it is close to JFK airport and there is a shuttle service to the airport. The lobby is small. The two people at reception were friendly but check in did take longer than it should have. Our room was fine - the beds were comfortable and it was a room to spend the night. Breakfast was included (at least it was for us) - the breakfast room is functional and the food okay. There is no restaurant or bar but there is a Burger King close by and a 7-eleven across the street where I bought a can of beer. Keep your expectations low and you will be fine!
All of the mixed reviews are pretty accurate. It’s a great place to sleep and was practically 20-40% less than the bigger chains around the corner. That is what it is good for—not fancy, no frills. The lobby is not welcoming—it is clean, but the attendants are behind plexiglass and it’s definitely not meant to be a place to spend time. They actually hold a $100 deposit (either charging the card or holding cash) and they check the room before you leave to refund the deposit—and everyone checking in with us was leaving cash. Our two-bed room was two doubles, not two queens. There were no blankets on the bed (but we did find them in the closet the next morning), clean but small bathroom, couldn’t hear neighbors (but did have some loud folks in the hall that woke us up—but considering how close we were to the elevator, this was surprisingly minimal). Couldn’t hear outside noise (like traffic or planes). Seeing the reviews, we ate before going to the hotel and didn’t explore the area. However, there isn’t much in the way of restaurants that you are walking to. Breakfast in the morning was ok (unless you don’t eat carbs)—mostly bagels and such and cereal—the only non-carb protein was hard boiled eggs. There is NOT a shuttle from the airport. The Uber was only $11 (even with a slight navigation issue). There IS an hourly shuttle to the airport. Shuttle was timely—be sure to leave enough time for the check out room inspection!
1-Check in was too slow and not smooth, only two unfriendly staff, waisting there time talking to each other , check in for the two families ahead of me took more than 20 minutes. 2- No elevator direct to your room, you have to step down the stair to the lower level , then call the elevator, so if you have heavy or many luggage this is a problem. 3- Room is dated, small in size, no electrical outlet to plug your mobile or lap top devices, I had to disconnect the table clock to use the outlet. - What I like is providing a free Airport shuttle, also the good thing there's many resturant and convenient store nearby within walking distance. 4- toiletries provided for one person only. 5- For a $ 150 hotel price per night of this quality, this is an expensive hotel
I have never seen hotel like this hotel frontdesk was not friendly I went checked in room smell was marijuana all over Hall way and room I went down they was two black one woman and one black man workers stole my very expensive new sunglass which is my favorite I ask front desk check camera she refuse don't ever book that hotel again never seen hotel like that zero star rating from me I didn't stay wasn't feel safe just in few second they stole my sunglass they stole at lobby becareful folks
My flight was delayed so I had to spend the night in NYC and had an early morning flight out. Rooms are, neat, clean and tidy. Free airport transfers are a plus. I just think at over $100 a nights the price is a bit steep but the close proximity to JFK and the free transfers make up for it.
The prices should be a little lower but over all stay was very nice the rooms were very clean it even smelled clean I would stay there again if need be stores were near a Burger King right on the corner I raelly don't have anything bad to say.
Got bumped from a flight at JFK and was stranded for 24 hours. My mother booked me the room all the way from Iceland. My phone had died when I got to the hotel and the security guard gave me his charger to keep and the lady at the desk did everything she could to find my reservation. The hotel was obviously old but it was very clean and I was given everything I needed. They served breakfast and gave me a free shuttle bus ride to and from the airport. I definitely recommend if you need a place to stay near the airport for very cheap.
A run down property near JFK with at super high price. The property is not that nice, the room was clean enough. The service desk clerk sits behind a 2 inch piece of glass, which makes you feel your in nice neighborhood. You must get on the tram and ride to the place where they want to pick you up, they don't pick you up at the airport but the tram stop. Very inconvenient.
The location of the property near JFK was perfect as I was between flights. The shuttle arrived in a timely manner and the morning drop off was directly at the terminal. The room was a little dated but spotless and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast offered enough of an assortment of breads, cereals, fruits and beverages to jump start the day. There are few dining choices within walking distance other than a Burger King, a small Indian take out restaurant and a 7-11. But as a layover for a night it was perfect.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The one inconvenience that we had concerned the airport shuttle. We decided to take the 6:45 shuttle so that we could eat something before our 5-hour flight home to Las Vegas, since food would not be served on the flight. The desk attendant said that the shuttle ride to JFK would take ten minutes, so we figured that even for an 8:30 flight, that should be fine. Breakfast began at 6:30 and we had to be in the lobby ten minutes before the shuttle left, so we knew we had to eat fast. We came down for breakfast at 6:20 and the lady was already putting everything out. At 6:25 I asked her if it was okay to start, and she looked at me and didn’t reply, so we started fixing something to quickly eat. At 6:35, we went up the short flight of stairs to the lobby to wait to load into the shuttle. The 6:45 shuttle departure time came and went. Had I known, as I realized at 6:53 when the shuttle driver came up from the breakfast area, that the driver was leisurely having his coffee in the breakfast area with us, my friend and I would have at least eaten a proper-sized breakfast. After dropping another passenger off at her terminal, we reached our terminal at 7:23 and the gate at 7:50. My friend and I rushed our breakfast to comply with the shuttle instructions, but the shuttle driver was not respectful of that, and it caused a little more stress than I cared for, and there could have been other delays like traffic, more people to drop off, etc.
