Dream Downtown

If you want a Vegas situation, stay at the Dream. Classy doesn't apply here, as the "artsy" photos of Gigi Hadid on the wall clearly scream. Or the exact same painting from Gossip Girl in every hotel room. The staff are nice enough, though we had some issues with getting luggage back in a timely manner. You basically have to be hot as all hell to be treated well here, especially at PHD. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff are pretty nice, but the hotel just isn't my cup of tea, it may be yours though. If you're looking for a faux New York experience where sexism is alive and well, stay at the Dream

This hotel is beautiful. It's a great location too. Though there is night club in the roof, and the noise level is out of control. We were woken both nights at 3:30 am. Had to personally ask the ppl to be quiet. They didn't adhere to my pleas, and so we phone front desk. Staff was eager to help but wouldn't compensate us for anything. And they should have. I came to rest and relax and DREAM... and got none of that.

The Dream downtown was packed with millenials partying night and day. Sooo many places to get alcohol! Not for families or people over 40. If my husband was at the desk I had to walk across the bed to get passed him. The room is fiull with just the bed and the slender desk. The pool area is beautiful and a definite bonus especially in manhattan. If you want non stop action in the city that never sleeps The Dream is your spot.

Had an amazing stay at the Dream Downtown! One of my top choices when I stay in the city. Love the decor, rooms, cleanliness, and overall experience!

Edge of sketchy neighborhood, loud, trying to be a W but failing

The room was fantastic. Port holes are fun. Robes could use a little more quality but overall fantastic. The roof top bar was a bit "scarface" and they wanted to scan my passport for cocktails paid with a card over$100 hence we paid cash. Lobby lounge was cool with the pool above us have it a 007 vibe. Conceige was helpful and polite. Joseph recommended a fun restaurant and Malorie was impressive.

I checked in online and I arrived on time for the check in at 3pm but the room was not ready and I had to wait 45min to check in. I only asked for extra towels but they didn't send them. When I got to the room, the first thing I noticed was a white couch missing. All the pictures I saw from the rooms, show a white couch. Also, there was only 1 main light on top of the bed, which was not very easy to control and not really beautiful. I really missed having other lamps, like shown in their pictures. On top of that, in the room I found a note saying that Coned was doing some kind of maintenance in the area and there was not hot water and heating from 11pm to 6am. I'd think this kind of hotel would have a in house plan B for that scenario. I couldn't go to their rooftop bar because they had a private event.

The hotel was wonderful and the room was great. The room service and mini bar prices were a bit steep (steeper than your average price)

The hotel staff was a little snooty and did not seem to want to be there. The rooms were small but fine. The showers were either scorching or cold. The room service was from bodega tacos located within which were extremely overpriced... Overall just an okay experience.

Atmosphere at the hotel is young and vibrant, lots of traffic for the roof top bar and the pool in the summer. However the common areas and rooms decor are starting to show their age.

Although the location is amazing the hotel staff is not friendly and there are many issues. Hot water. Noise from street on one of the towers and club noise in the other tower.we had to ask for extra towels every single day.

It's a small hotel. But it's middle of meat packing district. Have lots of things to do around here

Hip hotel in trendy, convenient area. Close to subways to get you to all other parts of NYC but honestly, there is so much to do within walking distance. Hotel pool was perfect temp and the wait staff were super attentive and friendly-- depending on day-of-week and weather, you might wanna get to the pool early to get a good spot but I never had a problem. I also had a few friends (native NY-ers come and meet me at the pool and even they were impressed). Room was clean and funky-- "club" music is playing when you walk in and you can control the volume from the bathroom (I realized later it was the audio from the TV in the bedroom that plays in both rooms). Didn't have any full meals there but did have some coffee and chicken sausages in the mornings and they were great. There is a popular nightclub on the top floor of the hotel that gets crazy busy every night of the week (apparently-- but I was only there on a Weds and Thurs night). Lots of hot people wait around to get in but, as a guest of the hotel, you can cut the line (up until a certain hour/capacity).

The Dream hotel is an exceptional hotel located in a great neighborhood in Manhattan. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed by friendly faces and even received a room upgrade with a pool view ! The restaurants were amazing as well as the PHD lounge located on the rooftop. I would defiantly recommend this hotel and I look forward to my new trip to Dream Downtown.

This was the second time we stayed here and love it. Uber cool hotel with lots happening in the actual hotel... it is in a great location close to great food, clubs, shopping. Hotel has everything you could need and the staff are also very friendly and go out of their way to be of assistance. My only complaint was that we ordered food by the pool side and it took over an hour to arrive.

Hotel did not meet expectations. Service was sub standard but location & amenities were great.

A trendy hotel doesn't mean a great hotel. Barely any outlets in the small room and none in the bathroom. The pool is very crowded and it's impossible to get a chair.

Great location. Crowded elevators. Annoying lighting in room.

Thanks so much for you hospitality. We loved DJ Chris Wonder too!

I enjoyed my stay at the Dream hotel . I like this hotel because is a great location but the rooms are not that great . I think is little pricy comparing to the other hotels .

Dear Mel, Thank you for taking time out of your day to write an honest review of your stay with us here at The Dream Downtown! We know that some of the smaller rooms which are really meant for a single guest are a bit tight when moving around especially for 2 people, in hopes of fixing that for our guests we actually have 11 different room types with all different amenities and layouts to better suit each guests needs depending on their trip. With that said we hope that we have the opportunity to have you back with us again in the future possibly in a different room type! P.S. That is a beautiful picture! Warmest Regards, Mallory & The Dream Team
