The entire hotel was very clean and comfortable. The food was good, however, the eating area is a bit crowded (but I guess that’s NYC for you!). Immediately around the hotel there is not too much, but well located to a few subway entrances—making it super easy to get to Manhattan
Easy access from the Port Authority 4 STOPS via the E line. There is a short flight of stairs at the Court Square subway stop but then there is a escalator to take you the rest of the way. Loved the breakfast buffet.
We chose this particular Hyatt property because of it’s proximity to the city. We would have preferred to stay in the city but were unable to do so because of the point tier. Hotel was decent Steph was pretty friendly wasn’t easy to find though signage is very innocuous. Decent value breakfast was OK my only complaint is that our bathroom sink was clogged for two of the three days we were there. When we reported the issue to the staff They seemed a little unconcerned compensated us by giving us higher points. Would have preferred to stay at a higher tier property.
In the mist of an gentrification of the an old industrial area, many new apartment houses and office buildings are popping up all over the Long Island City. The new Hyatt Place stood out as an ideal place where we will be staying for 2 nights. Our room 809 on the 8th floor was well decorated, nice room colors, spacious, clean and bright. There were good space to walk around the two very comfortable queen beds without bumping into each other. The 42-inch HDTV can be rotated for viewing from anywhere is the room. The large siting area was large and comfortable with a sofa bed. The shower over tub was large and roomy. The tub wall was low and easy to climb in for the needed shower. The compliment breakfast tends to be hearty and adequate. Fresh juices - apple, grapefruit, and orange; milk- regular, 2%, non-fat; hot steel cut oats and cold granola ceral are available; fresh fruits - apples and bananas; fruit bowl; regular yogurt; hot scramble eggs and hard boiled eggs; shoulder bacon or sausages; roasted small potatoes; pancakes, waffles, or French toast; bread - white, wheat, and zucchini bread; and hot tea, coffee, and hot water. The gym is open 24/7 to keep up with your fitness routine with a bicycle machine, a step master, and a treadmill; and the business center in the lobby with 2 desktop computers, printer, & fax machine is available 24/7 to conduct business. Happy Hour is between 4-6 pm with a full service bar of beer, liquor, and wine to provide you with imported beer, craft cocktails, and specialty wine so you can enjoy your libations for the day. From our large window, we could see 4 buildings under construction along side of the 9 modern buildings within 2 blocks. Also within the 2 block, there are at least 14 restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops. The back half of the building overlooks the Queensboro Bridge On/Off Ramp to city streets. Traffic noise can be heard. In the middle of an exciting area destine for growth, we found comfortable beds & good dining choices at HYATT STOP BY ... at Hyatt Place Long Island City.
Absolutely zero ATT cell phone service at this hotel. My husband and I had to check out immediately upon arrival as this would not work for us - as his business demands require he be reachable by telephone. Staff was nice and understanding, hotel property was clean, however could not stay here and had to cancel all future reservations. Unacceptable!
I loved staying here! My daughter and I were really pleased! The walk to the hotel was really easy, once we figured out which stop was closest. The breakfast was the best I have had at a hotel. The staff was super helpful and friendly.
Room was on the tiny size but that is to be expected in NYC. Very comfortable bed. I’m handicapped with a bad back and I slept very well. Sound proof windows with blackout shades were more than appreciated. Front staff was was very friendly and helpful with areas attractions. Restaurants were a short stalk away.
I arrived after midnight because of an airline delay and was greeted with a smile and a quick check in. I got to the room which was very clean and comfortable and needed a crib .it took them 5 minutes and I had one in my room . Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. A great place to stay .
I wish the room has microwave tho or at least can be borrowed from the hotel instead of going to the lobby area to warm foods. I was traveling with little kids so microwave and fridge is a must. Overall it was a good stay.
Stayed here the first week of April with my wife and the stay was wonderful! Our room was a decent size for a New York hotel room and very clean with an updated look to it. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. I wish I had this bed at home. The hotel was very clean and quiet. We had a top floor room and the two elevators were very quick getting you up and down. Everyone on staff we met, especially the front desk, were extremely helpful with anything that we needed. We had an early morning flight home and they even reserved a car to take us to the airport for a great rate. The breakfast situation was probably the downside to the stay. The food looked good, but their seating area is not very big and the few times we went for breakfast, there was no place to sit. We tried a few different times of the morning and it was always full. Other than that, you can't beat the location and there are two subway stations within a five minute walk from the hotel with easy access to Manhattan. We really enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend staying here, especially if you don't want to stay in Manhattan or pay the prices for a room in Manhattan.
