Stayed at the New Yorker and though I think it could use some minor updates, overall this historic hotel is a great place to stay if you like to be close to it all dining, shopping a CVS etc. It was right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, so getting to the subway was easy. We had a great view of the Empire State Bldg from our room which overall was spacious (except for the tiny bathroom) and clean. The bed was equivalent or better to the beds I have slept in at 5 star hotels so very comfortable, though I do think the pillows could have been a little more firm. Also, there were a few issues that we did encounter i.e. the toilet overflowed and the sink was slow to drain, but the maintenance staff was great. They came and fixed the toilet and sent housekeeping to clean the bathroom and provide new linens in a very timely manner. Overall, this is a good hotel to stay in when visiting the city and I would stay there again.

Having an in-room coffee pot, mini-fridge, and microwave would’ve made it perfect. Also, if the staff would take the time to be some semi-familiar with their guests, that would be great. We didn’t appreciate being treated like trespassers upon return after being there for more than enough time to become familiar.

Horrible

Before the bad, the staff was awesome and friendly. The location is great, walkable to Times Square or the train runs across the street. The building is old with old fixtures and furniture; not for those who like modern ammenities. My biggest complaint, and why I will not return is the "facility fees". The rooms are not priced as advertised, they are $34 more PER NIGHT! And they will charge your card no matter what. I extended my stay and wasn't charged at the desk, someone slid a receipt under my door at some point during the night to let me know they'd charged my card. Do yourself a favor and stay at a more modern place that honestly advertises their rates.

Beautiful lobby

Restored 20s hotel may resonate with some guests, but it wasn’t to my taste. The room was very small, poor lighting in hallways and chipping paint. Be sure to read descriptions of rooms and not rely on photos.

Very nice stay

The location is great, the room worked out well. It was very quiet on the 25th floor.

I love that the historical aspect of the hotel is being kept in tact. It was a great place to stay. Staff were very friendly and it was clean. Location is awesome

Great Italian restaurant on premise. The rooms are small, the mattress needed changing. The property is old and looks it, not in a retro kind of way. It did just for sleeping

Clean, quiet and well situated to Penn Station

Great room and facility. Only problem is no coffee/tea maker in rooms. That would be perfect! Thank you, -John

Only the history. Besides that the facility is crap

Great Location!

My friend called and ordered champagne and strawberries for my birthday they charged her for it but we never received it so she had to call back and hopefully will be refunded

Although the rooms are very small, they were clean and had a great view. The location was outstanding and was super convenient to Amtrak and local transportation.

This property is somewhat old and rundown. The carpets are threadbare. The wallpaper (yes wallpaper) in my room was peeling. The shower curtain didn't have a curtain liner; the shower head had only one painfully overpowered setting. The tv was broken for nearly my whole stay. There's no pool, no continental breakfast. Overall a very subpar experience. The one positive was the convenient location in midtown.

The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Staff was friendly and Covid precautions were always followed. The hotel is in a great location near Penn Station.
