Great location staff were very helpful only issue we had was key cards would not work everytime we left the hotel we had to get the cards rebooted

Great location, great staff, but starting to show it’s age and not enough outlets in the room

Loved the art deco lobby, the attentive staff, the fast elevators, our view of the ESB and MSG, and the convenience to Times Sq, shopping, and food

Shabby hotel with excessive charges for holding bags after check-out.

Loved the orig Art Deco style from the 1930's. Room was smallish but comfortable. Wish it had 2 chairs instead of 1, maybe a mini frig. Liked the decor and orig nooks. Very close to areas we visited and wanted to see. The hotel was in an excellent position close to the Lincoln tunnel. Soo easy to get to and from the city. Would def. stay again because of this.

Hotel is close to penn station. The rooms were clean but small and outdated.

Fun staying in a famous landmark building, and very convenient to the event we were attending in MSG and area shopping. Room was a bit small and cramped, so be prepared to be climbing over each other and your bags.

My biggest issue, which probably be for most hotels, is that I had NO idea I would have to pay an additional, mandatory $33 per day "resort fee" AT the hotel. For what? Use of the telephone and wifi. So I thought I was getting this great deal from Orbitz but they fail to tell you (or if they do, it's not clear, I'm a frequent traveler but don't stay in hotels in NYC much because I know so many people there). This was maddening. The staff was friendly and professional. This hotel feels like it was the place to be back in the day. Now, the actual room (queen w city view) was super small but very clean, however the pillows were pretty horrible - those thick, cottony types. Shower water pressure perfect. View nice for NYC (often you get the view of a building wall, here on the 37th floor I could see the sky) The hallways need work. They feel old and look dirty even though I don't think they are dirty. I paid $118 plus this $33 resort fee so for NYC it's still a great deal, but all hotels are inexpensive at this time (late Jan).

The room was a nice size , clean and had comfortable beds. The hallways were dark and dingy and there was a crime scene feel on the ice machine floor but it was a great location and nice view for the price. I would Stay again if I needed A place close to msg or penn station

This is a wonderful, centrally located hotel. The parking garage is also very conveniently located and the subway is incredibly close by.

Good area and good hotel. Showing its age a little, but it was clean.

This hotel is awesome. It has a really cool vintage feel and walking distance to Madison Square Garden. There are two restaurants on site and everyone is super customer service oriented. It was great. The view from our room was so perfect. I can’t say enough good things.

Okay hotel, pretty close to everything. It’s kind of inconvenient that they charge to leave bags in the lobby especially at a very busy city!!

Perfect.

This was our 5th time staying here! Location is perfect, staff is incredibly outgoing and there to help! Would recommend it 100 percent!

So this peoperty is very small and bare bones. The bathroom surface of the tub is peeling, and drainage is poor from the tub when you shower. But the staff is beyond friendly. They are the redeeming factor if you choose to stay at this hotel. Location is great if you need to be near the train station.

It was cool to stay at a vintage property like this one, and the surrounding area was great so close to Penn Station. But it’s important to remember the building is very old, the rooms are old, the windows are small and drafty, etc. I was excited about getting a ‘view’ room but I would not stay at this hotel if that is your thing; it was a huge disappointment in that department.

I used my Avion Visa card and rewards points for payment, but encountered an issue at the property. They were supposed to authorize $200 but charged at the same time over $800 and then over $600 CDN. After a prolonged conversation with the front desk agent and manager, I was assured a refund within 10 business days. Really?? Why not refund my money right away??? My son received a complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience. Joke!!! Despite this, the hotel boasts a great location and is well-kept. I still see both charges on my visa: Hope they can refund my money soon.
