New York Marriott Marquis

4.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The room was very clean, pretty, and very comfortable. Comfy beds! Their room service is more affordable than many luxury hotels, and it's fast, nice food, delivered in disposable to-go containers very quickly. Wifi is not free, but you can cross your fingers that your cell phone reception is sufficient for your needs. (I opted to risk an extra data charge versus $20/day for wifi (plus you never know if it'll be good wifi). A couple more fun things: you can check your bill and check out from your room using the TV. Then the key drop is in the lobby. Also you can login to your Netflix account on the TV. Awesome! If you struggle with heights, half of the elevators are glass and face each level coming up and down. There are over 40 floors, so this could be a deal breaker for some. But you could try for one of the elevators with no windows. It's close to a ton of theatres (all the theatres!) and restaurants. 2 of our 3 shows were less than a block away. That made for easy returns with my teenage daughter after hanging out at the stage door. Happily, it's very well situated, which made my daughter and I feel pretty safe. It's a lovely hotel if you can afford it. You get less for your dollar in NYC, but if you go with that expectation, you can still enjoy yourself. My husband and I went to a much cheaper place on our previous visit, and I was turned off enough that I just didn't enjoy being there. I'd rather save up for the Marriot Marquis each time.

It was very comfortable. We had a great time The service was excellent.

Perfect location. Best experience in a NY hotel so far. I will definitely continue to stay in Marriott.

Lily our check in clerk was beyond helpful!!! Gave us excellent shopping tips & Broadway txs purchase help!!! Offered reasonable upgrade w wine pkg!!!

Loved being in Time Square close to all attractions.

Celebrating my granddaughter's high school graduation with a three night trip to NYC! She chose to return to NYC to see the sights missed three years ago on a previous trip. The Marriott Marquis was the perfect location for our purpose of seeing Broadway shows, and in the midst of the Times Square action! She was the navigator for all of our adventures using the subway system. Uptown to Central Park for a two hour bike tour, to downtown to the One World Observatory and lunch. An evening performance, and then dinner at The View, the only revolving restaurant in NYC on the 48th floor of the Marriott. Ending our stay with a delightful "breakfast in the room" treat on our last morning. Fabulous service, friendly advice, and helpful information from all staff throughout our stay! A wonderful trip filled with memories to remember.

The Bellhop Greeters did a awesome job and very professional!! Would definitely recommend to friends and family! Kid friendly clean atmosphere for all ages!

Everything was good except for a few minor irritations--bloodstain on a towel, cobweb on ceiling & no clean glasses on second day. The room was remarkably quiet for being in the middle of Times Square. Overall a very good experience.

Stephanie S checked me in and she was awesome! She was very friendly and so helpful with all my questions! Made the start of my NY experience perfect!

It is a wonderful location for theater and the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful . The room we had was a little tired -- rooms need updated.

Only a few word, "EXCELLENT" Everythings at the Marriott's style "Excellent"

A++ Good location but a bit outdated.

Front desk staff was awesome. The location was excellent forgetting to wherever we wanted to go.

Front desk told me view of Hudson. No view, just of steam vents below. Takes 45 minutes to retrieve car. Room outdated. Shower scolding hot or cold. No in between.

Expensive but super great location Close to events and attractions

Hotel is in ideal location to enjoy Time Square and catch a show

Rooms were very nice. Only thing I didn't like was there was no small icebox in the room for drinks. Everything else was great. Would definitely stay here again

We have stayed here before, but this time was hectic, long lines, and did not contribute to a usually good stay here. No extra effort on anyone's part. Hotel was slam full, and with a full bar, the Broadway Bar/Restaurant closed early, and turned the lights on about 2 minutes after we payed for last call at 11:45PM. Yes, in New York City. Room service prices were astronomical for pre-packaged food. Seriously? Can't toast a bagel that you charge 15 dollars for? Lines for the elevator were ridiculously long--and it seemed like several weren't working. True, this was the week of Christmas to New Years, but this happens every year--you would think they would figure that out. Disappointing stay, all in all, especially for the exorbitant prices we paid to stay there.

Walk to just about any theater. Great dining options in the area. Staff was professional and welcoming.
