It’s was quiet, neat, and the staff is very respectful and responsive. Great spot to stay for a shopping trip with all the shopping centers near by the hotel.

A delightful, comfortable stay in the heart of Manhattan. The Empire Hotel’s location is unbeatable—nestled near Columbus Circle and the Upper West Side, it offers easy access to Central Park, Lincoln Center, and Broadway. The lobby is a visual treat, with striking artwork on the second floor and plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing or people-watching. Our standard room was compact but manageable for two travelers. While the bathroom door handle was a bit finicky (closing it required a noisy bang), and the carpets showed some wear with a faint mustiness in the hallways, these were minor quirks in an otherwise pleasant experience. What truly elevated our stay was the staff—bellhops, housekeeping, and front desk were all exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Having convenient access to the Empire Rooftop Hotel and Bar (with a reservation) was a bonus, offering a stylish spot to unwind above the city. Overall, a solid choice for anyone seeking a central, character-rich hotel with great service and a touch of old New York flair.

I enjoyed having plenty of staff on hand in the lobby keeping the hotel safe and clean. I also enjoyed having some access to the roof top to enjoy the views of the city. Loved having the outdoor space across from the hotel where you could sit in a park setting and enjoy a cup of coffee on clean benches and tables.

This hotel is gorgeous and in a perfect location! The pool is tiny but the lounge area and views are awesome! The rooftop bar/restaurant is also top notch! The rooms are small but very clean and the staff is super accommodating and friendly. Overall 10/10 experience

AC unit did not provide cool air. I mentioned this multiple times starting at 8:30am, giving them ample opportunity to come by and fix it. I honestly don’t think they ever mentioned it to the repairman. They offered a fan at 11:00pm. What can you do? You are stuck there and you have prepaid (no refunds!)- they don’t really have to do anything to make your stay comfortable. CONS list: AC did not cool. It was well over 75 degrees in the room. The beds don’t have sheets, only a comforter, so, no way to layer at night. Lamp was missing the switch to turn on and off, so it just had to be plugged and unplugged. Shades were broken so that they could not be raised. Barely space for 1 person to put their clothes. WiFi never worked in our room, only the lobby. Beds were extremely hard, and one of them squeaked loudly anytime there was the slightest movement. PROS list: convenient location for what we needed. Decent restaurants next door. Two double beds. Family of 4. Room was tiny - even for NYC. Bathroom served basic needs, but again - very tiny. The whole room and bathroom needs a major update.

I enjoyed the area of town where this property is located. Very walkable to the subways! The lobby was nice. The staff were excellent! Very helpful and kind. The rooms were average. The A/C needs help! The first room we were in, on the 5th floor, had a broken AC! Room was HOT! The staff gave us a new room with a better working AC. The hallways also smelled bad at times and were dark.

Excellent attentive staff, exceptionally clean accommodation. For people with allergies or asthma, this hotel is a safe bet! Absolutely free of mold or mildew throughout bathroom and sleeping area. Perfect temperature control, lovely pillows, and an incredible view.

The hotel is close to central park, lincoln center, etc. The pool area is small and hard to get a chair. Drinks were expensive. We stayed on top floor (11th floor) but restaurant was above and they started cleaning and moving furniture around at 5:30 am so would've like to have been notified of that. The hallways are very dark. No coffee maker or microwave in room.

The pool and roof top access are really nice. However the rooms could use a remodel and the showers are weird. Most of the front desk staff are helpful and nice but there was a rude man that checked me in. Also the 150 deposit at check in seems a bit excessive for a hotel with run down rooms.

It’s an ok hotel. Would I have stayed here if I didn’t have a summer program at Lincoln Center, no. Pool is tiny, wifi is spotty. But awesome location and quiet hotel.

The only thing that i didnt like is the staff doing the cleaning. She opening my door before 12pm (check out time). It was 1040a then 11a. Not sure if she is aware check out is at 12noon. Thank you God I had the inside lock on.
