I arrived at 4:00 pm to check in but my room was not ready I waited another hour and my room was still not ready. I asked for another room that’s ready they said I would have to down grade without even offering me any money back. I had to keep checking if my room is ready every hour I was not able to get my room till 9:30 pm. That happened to two of my friends as well one waited one hour and got offered free food and beverages from the hotel for her entire stay and so did the other one. When I told the front desk what is going on they said they’re super busy and things happen. I got offered nothing which was so unfair because my room too 4 hours longer. Then after we came home she got $800 back for all the mess that happened and I still have not gotten an apology. I love Hilton and I’m a hiltons honor member but this was the worst experience I had.
We book in this hotel everytime we visit NYC. This time the check in clerk was not as nice as usual. The hotel is a few blocks from Central Park and from Time Square

The Hilton at midtown is walking distance to all of our Holiday festivities and shopping. Also a quick cab ride to Soho, Chelsea, the highline, Hudson yards, etc… great spot!
The gridlock is troublesome
EXTREMELY crowded due to Macy’s parade. Waiting 20 min, 4 different times for an elevator. BUT other than that, it has been great and the staff are the best.
Clean room in a safe place. Check-in was a NIGHTMARE. Stood in line for 30-45 mins to check in. Our room temp was stuck at 72 degrees - told the front desk. Nothing was done. We just turned it off and slept in sweatshirts. Seems as if there may be a staffing issue.
I would give it a 10 out of 10, but they dont have coffee makers in the rooms.

Less than hospitable with the policy of paying extra for early check in. Traveling from out of state and getting in at 1pm, I've never been told by any hotel ever that we have your room ready, but it's gonna cost you...
Need two night stands in room,towels were flimsy and tv did not have all stations although the guide shows it did.
We have stayed at this Hilton the last 5 times in the last 3 months. It is usually great. This time they had overbooked the hotel. We had to settle for a handicap room after a long wait. Not the best suit for our stay. They gave us breakfast vouchers but the service was not worth it.
