Grand Hyatt New York

For our first time in New York this had to be the best place to stay!! We were right next to grand central station and was able to get to our destinations using the subway! It is the fastest way to travel in NY! Not to mention inexpensive too!! Highly recommend!!!

The hotel was nice and conveniently located .6 miles from Times Square and Rockefeller Center - two areas that were important for our holiday trip. Rooms were pleasant but you could definitely hear the noise and sirens from the street and voices up and down the hallways. Could have also used a coffeemaker in the room (but knew it was lacking based on other reviews). Beds were terrific, tv and bathroom was nice as well. Lobby escalators were broken on the day of departure resulting in dragging luggage up and down flights of stairs with no staff assistance. Disappointed to learn that my stay did not qualify for points since I booked through a dreaded "third party" site, i.e. Orbitz, but the price was right for the stay since we were not in the hotel itself all that much.

They make you wait in long line to check in, has happened multiple times and is very RUDE! Staff pays no attention to line or people in line just take their time and avert their gaze. I hate checking in to this hotel!

Beautiful hotel staff were helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived, everything was perfect.Ours was a mother and daughter getaway and this hotel just made it for us. The restaurant first class. Will be back here for sure. Ethena Laffan

Luggage drop off 3.00 Room was ok but bed not clean Staff was ok Location was great Very noisy can hear eveything all night

Great location perfect for a great weekend. We were right at grand central

Nicely remodeled since I last stayed here about 18 years ago. Very pleased with everything.

Nice hotel in a great location. The lobby is nice, restaurant and bar nice, but the room was a little quirky. I arrived and the room was completely dark. The light switch is a touch sensor, so pretty difficult to turn the light on in the dark, but figured it out. Then went around the corner for the bathroom and couldn't find the light switch. Eventually found it, but it too was a touch sensor - not easy to turn on. Shower is narrow with the faucet on the far wall rather than at the entrance. When you turn the water on, you get wet... It's the little things. Room as clean and bed was comfortable as you would expect for a place like this.

The beds aren't the most comfortable. But the class, and location make up for it. We got a deluxe room and I suggest you do the same so you can get a good view. There is a square footage difference even though this site doesn't say so.

The location of the Grand Hyatt is perfect. If you want to be close to everything without being in a traffic jam with people, this is a great location. The hotel is nicely decorated and the staff was exceptional. The room was another story. A bit pricey for the lack of amenities that are included. No bottle water, no coffee maker, no desk. Get the point. The best was when I had 30 minutes to catch a show and the electronic keys/lock were experiencing issues. They had to send a repair man to fix the lock. And yes, I made the show. What boggled me is that the a/c on 65 degrees would not cool the room. It was very stuffy. All in all, nice hotel, there may be better.

Grand Hyatt great location for exploring NY. Asked reception staff to find a quite room, my goodness I thought I was staying in the hotel myself :-) Fantastic room lots of space, clean, all the facilities you could ask for. Great

It was good and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel was in a good central location.

Rooms are really small. Basic amenities like a coffee machine and microwave were missing. The air conditioning was broken, with water leakage, caused a damp carpet and weird smell in the room. We complained to the desk about these issues but no one did anything about it. The rooms and the bedding was full of dust. Not a very pleasant stay over all. Did not expect hyatt to be this dirty and unclean.

This hotel is great! Walking distance from Manhhattan. I been to New York 3 times and this one has been the best hotel I had stayed.

Beds are not that comfortable. Bathrooms could use a little bit more space. The room was extremely dusty! Every day the dust build up was like I'd never seen before! It needed dusting everyday! The rooms feel dark instead of bright and welcoming. I think they need a face lift, my opinion. I prob wouldn't stay here again.

Wet nice staff is super helpful rooms clean pretty quiet easy access to subway to get to everything

+ Convenient location, Nice place, clean, fast elevators, Large open area with couches in lobby that was good for our large party to convene. Bed was super comfortable. Nice views. - Poorly laid out room, they were not all like ours but the bathroom and dressing areas were separate, couldn't figure out the logic behind the floorplan. Bathroom sink was half under a shelf, I hit my head on it countless times while washing my face or brushing teeth. I had to turn head sideways. $4.50 for small plain coffee in store in the lobby. Paid hundreds of dollars a night for room and hotel still felt it was necessary to charge $3 per bag for luggage storage on last day. Small amount yes but this is a complimentary service in EVERY hotel I have stayed in all over the world. This very small charge seemed petty and greedy and turned me off the hotel completely.

Perfect central Manhatten location. Connects to Grand Central so when weather is inclement you don't need to go outside. Staff were very friendly. Room was moderate. Clean with friendly staff. Bed was uncomfortable. Linens weren't scratchy. I would rate this hotel due to location, safety, and quality staff very high.

For a 4 star hotel I expected a little more amenities in the room and a little more space I also felt the rooms could be more spacious and have better decor.

Located adjacent to Grand Central, this is a very convenient midtown location. Unfortunately there seems to be significant problems with the lifts. Between the logic being wrong, cramped size, insufficient lifts in the building given the numbers of floors and rooms and two being down for maintenance, queues of 15 minutes up or down were not uncommon. Maybe this was a one off, but it made for a frustrating experience.
