Grand Hyatt New York

We attended a conference at the Grand Hyatt and found the accommodations very nice. The room feels like a small suite. The king size bed was very comfortable. The television was large with a good channel selection. The bathroom was quite small and difficult for two to navigate. The shower was good but could have used a bit more intensity from the stream. The conference facilities were very good with excellent breakfast provided and superb coffee (very important for early morning meetings). The hotel is located right next to Grand Central and walking distance to Times Square. It is a long walk to Central Park. It is very convenient to some excellent restaurants and the subway. The staff was very helpful and they were very willing to meet our needs getting taxis, etc. We would definitely stay again and look forward to that possibility.

👍👏Excellent lobby room location Staff Atmosphere everything comfortable

The hotel staff was very unaccommodating. They made a mistake with the booking date, putting my date in the system a day early. They said that they would issue me a refund for that date, but for me to stay there for a night, they still wanted charge my card for another night anyhow. This means that my card would be charged for two nights instead of one, and I wouldn't see my refund for three to five business days. The double-charge issue on my card wasn't even the worse part of the experience, however. Later in the night, when me and my girlfriend were trying to get back in our room from going out, the hallway doors to our room were closed. When we went down to security, they came back with us to open the hallway door. The people responsible for closing the hall way doors were actually people next to our room. The people were having a large party next door, and when I talked to the security person about this, he said there was nothing he could do about it. The party went on for hours, and it wasn't our job to ask the people next door to keep it quiet. I have video proof as well that this was going on in the Grand Hyatt. Honestly, I would never ever want to go to this hotel again, especially if it was for business purposes.

Last minute decision to spend a night in the city. Great location. Restaurant inside of hotel; great food and staff

NIce place.NYC is a crazy place. But that's NYC. Id stay there again

We are in the radio industry. A quick opportunity arose and we found ourselves in and out in less than 10 hours. Selecting the Grand Hyatt because it was close to our connection and decidedly a lovely opportunity to enjoy the breakfast in their very fun restaurant over 42nd street. The shower would not drain and we only had a small amount of time to get ready. Dealing with a clogged shower was the WORST. It took 30 minutes for the repair guy to come. Breakfast was out. We ran down to the bottom of Grand Central Station and grabbed a couple breakfast sandwich while running out of spruce time. The food in the subway was lousy. The shower was fine when he fixed it. But it ate the time. We let them know and they said they could not gift us the room because it was done through Orbitz. And given that they wanted to help make it better, they offered to upgrade us on our next trip in. We accepted though, it taught us not to go through Orbitz!

Great size room for NYC! Family of 4 with plenty of room for us all!

We stay here several times a year and love the convenience of this hotel. Right next to Grand Central and not far from Broadway (but far enough away that you don't have the tourist crowds and all the neon lights). Pleasant staff, nice bar atmosphere and a well stocked "market" to suit any visitor. Our favorite hotel in NYC.

The location was perfect for us. We enjoyed our two night stay at the Hyatt. The room was very comfortable. The restaurant served very tasty food. It was also quiet in the hallway and with the other rooms, which is a plus. I would stay there again when back in NYC!

For our first time in New York this had to be the best place to stay!! We were right next to grand central station and was able to get to our destinations using the subway! It is the fastest way to travel in NY! Not to mention inexpensive too!! Highly recommend!!!

The hotel was nice and conveniently located .6 miles from Times Square and Rockefeller Center - two areas that were important for our holiday trip. Rooms were pleasant but you could definitely hear the noise and sirens from the street and voices up and down the hallways. Could have also used a coffeemaker in the room (but knew it was lacking based on other reviews). Beds were terrific, tv and bathroom was nice as well. Lobby escalators were broken on the day of departure resulting in dragging luggage up and down flights of stairs with no staff assistance. Disappointed to learn that my stay did not qualify for points since I booked through a dreaded "third party" site, i.e. Orbitz, but the price was right for the stay since we were not in the hotel itself all that much.

They make you wait in long line to check in, has happened multiple times and is very RUDE! Staff pays no attention to line or people in line just take their time and avert their gaze. I hate checking in to this hotel!

Beautiful hotel staff were helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived, everything was perfect.Ours was a mother and daughter getaway and this hotel just made it for us. The restaurant first class. Will be back here for sure. Ethena Laffan

Luggage drop off 3.00 Room was ok but bed not clean Staff was ok Location was great Very noisy can hear eveything all night

Great location perfect for a great weekend. We were right at grand central

Nicely remodeled since I last stayed here about 18 years ago. Very pleased with everything.

Nice hotel in a great location. The lobby is nice, restaurant and bar nice, but the room was a little quirky. I arrived and the room was completely dark. The light switch is a touch sensor, so pretty difficult to turn the light on in the dark, but figured it out. Then went around the corner for the bathroom and couldn't find the light switch. Eventually found it, but it too was a touch sensor - not easy to turn on. Shower is narrow with the faucet on the far wall rather than at the entrance. When you turn the water on, you get wet... It's the little things. Room as clean and bed was comfortable as you would expect for a place like this.

The beds aren't the most comfortable. But the class, and location make up for it. We got a deluxe room and I suggest you do the same so you can get a good view. There is a square footage difference even though this site doesn't say so.

The location of the Grand Hyatt is perfect. If you want to be close to everything without being in a traffic jam with people, this is a great location. The hotel is nicely decorated and the staff was exceptional. The room was another story. A bit pricey for the lack of amenities that are included. No bottle water, no coffee maker, no desk. Get the point. The best was when I had 30 minutes to catch a show and the electronic keys/lock were experiencing issues. They had to send a repair man to fix the lock. And yes, I made the show. What boggled me is that the a/c on 65 degrees would not cool the room. It was very stuffy. All in all, nice hotel, there may be better.
