We had to wait up to 20 minutes for elevators multiple times. We were only on the 3rd floor so I tried to take the stairs but we ended up in the basement, with the hotel laundry.

Lifts (elevators) were really poor. Long queues, sometimes 10 minutes wait for an elevator in the morning. Some of them didn't accept the room cards which were necessary to reach your desired floor. Also, wallss were very thin, so easy to hear conversations, etc, in the neighbouring room. However, good location, and good breakfast, albeit very busy.

When I booked my reservation on your site as well as RIU’s site it clearly states check in is 3:00pm and I planned accordingly. When I arrived & wanted to check in I was told check in was 4:00pm. When I told them that’s not was on their site as well as yours I was told “take it up with Hotels.com

Great location, spacious, very clean room with fabulous view (9th floor looking west). I really appreciated the eco consciousness -- they made it easy to recyle and everything electonic was turned off when you left the room. BUT when you card-key controls so much, it has to be reliable and mine died twice in 3 days. Also the disinfectents (or whatever) used to clean the room left an unpleasant smell that took aobut 24 hours to go away.

I had an excellent stay at the RIU Plaza New York Times Square. The location was perfect right in the heart of Times Square and close to everything. The hotel was very clean, and the rooms were comfortable with amazing views of the city. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a great variety of food to choose from. Most of all, the staff were extremely nice, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
