Overall, I have ro say this was a terrible experience for the amount of money we paid. First, on top of paying a premium at this "resort," they also charge you $25 a day to park your car there, which is apparently buried somewhere in the fine print when you make the reservation (I couldn't find it anywhere in my reservation and was surprised when I received a text the day before we arrived notifying me of this). I could understand this fee if there were enough activities within walking distance or they provided transportation to places, but this is not an all-inclusive resort. Second, all the staff is always on their phone. When we went down to the beach, I actually had to get someone's attention because all three attendants were on their phone. And, surprisingly, when I texted staff for something I needed (a couple of extra pillows), my text was ignored and I had to go to the front desk. When I got to the front desk, the two people there told me I could have just texted and when I informed them that I did, they found my text and I was answered with "oh." You would also think that for $500+ a night and because they claim to be a resort, you would get standard room service every day, but no, you have to request it. When I found this out, I requested it the 2nd day we were there, but they didnt do it until the 3rd day, so we slept in sandy sheets for 2 nights (it is also impossible to not get sand all over here as the floors are tile and they dont come in and vacuum every day).

We loved our stay at the Blue Water Resort and will definitely return someday hopefully. Coming the week after Labor Day was the right call and it was quiet on property and the surrounding areas. We were in room 411 which was awesome with a full kitchen and view right to the beach. The only issue we had was being able to hear the people in the room above us walking back-and-forth constantly. It seems like there isn’t much buffer between the floors so next time we will definitely request a top floor.

We were told breakfast began at 6:30. When we got there we were told they were not accepting individual orders until 8:30, that the restaurant was dedicated to large tour groups. We decided to go out to a restaurant instead. Also, we got a wake up call at 5:30 am that we did not request.

My stay at the blue water lasted a total of two hours. What was supposed to be an anniversary trip turned into an immediate disappointment. The room situation was untenable due to excessive noise bleeding through the walls and ceilings. The ocean view was blocked by a hedge. The overall room was average at best. Attempts to remedy the situation with staff were not acceptable. Staff seemed very leaderless. I was not the only guest with a disappointing room situation either. Two other guests were complaining about accommodations at the same time I was. One was literally put in an underground room with a supposed ocean view. I proceeded to check out with of resort under the impression, speaking with staff, that I would be charged for one days stay. I was agreeable since these were the terms of the reservation. As of today the resort is still holding on to my full fee. The excuse from staff is I didn’t call Expedia fast enough. I have filed a claim through Expedia and gained no ground with the Blue water resort. The silence and inaction of the management of the blue water is what I find most disappointing in the establishment. What they are advertising and what they are delivering is very different. I would think twice about staying at this establishment.

For the money paid, I expect more. I realize it was 'off season' but only by a few days. Staff should still greet you immediately and warmly and make you feel welcomed. I did not feel welcomed. My room was mediocre at best. Lights were very dim, I had to keep my blind down at all times due to foot traffic past my window. It was like a cave. Jonas Den is a basement level restaurant with extremely poor service, although the food is fantastic. They close earlier than posted making people feel unwelcomed and rushed. I personally, will spend my money elsewhere.

We had a great ocean view room!! Definitely not a fan of "Pet Friendly" though. The thought of an animal's dander everywhere is far from appealing. Pet dander stays for months, regardless of HEPA air filters or purifiers. The rooms were definitely "beach sand" considered in the designing phase for the non carpeted multi-colored flooring in the rooms. One might say its a good thing. Upon changing into my beach attire I walked the floor barefooted, it was cold and I felt sand from previous occupants - We had just checked. Other than that it was a fun stay, the beach is beautiful. We had pizza in the restaurant and it was great!!

Whatvi like the most was the easy acces to their private beach with chairs and umbrellas. The dally activities were nice for children and adults, nice bar by the pool. Easy check in and check out. Just the dinning room needs to have more food options.
