Omg what a disappointment. Loved walking our bags down the 50 yard walk after the check in at the 1970s reception area. Cheap, safe, motel.

No frills - good breakfast. Inexpensive. Helpful staff. Reasonably clean.

I've been to this hotel multiple times a year since 2009 and it was always a comfortable, economically friendly experience...the beds were comfortable, room was clean, free breakfast was tasty and satisfying and the parking was ample (which was nearly impossible in the Allston/Brighton area) and free at the time. This is my first visit since they changed over to Hotel Boston and got rid of the hotel chain name and it's been about five years since I was last there, 2013 was my last visit before this and boy have things gone downhill! Staff is not as friendly as they used to be; everytime we asked a question or tried to make a request the answer was "NO" without much explanation. Check-in was very slow too. I usually stayed at the 100 rooms and this time they placed me in the 500 rooms claiming there was a price difference between my two double beds and those two double beds. The 500 room was much, much smaller and very poorly maintained with large holes in the walls and pieces of tile broken in corners of the room. There was a ring of brown dirt and crud around the bathtub, the faucet was pulled out of the wall and a huge spider came out of the hole between the wall and faucet when I went in to take a shower. The breakfast was ok, but seating area is very cramped and gets filled fast. I am saddened by the way this great little hotel has gone down this path as this was always my go-to place. It's got a prime, peaceful location just 2 blocks from the T, so I help they save it!

Old hotel that really needs updated. Room had a mildew odor. Refrigerator leaked under the carpet. Rooms are not easy to find and are on various tiers with no elevators. If you have any mobility issues this is not the hotel for you. Staff was very nice-- the hotel itself is a nightmare.

I was rather surprised pulling into the hotel parking lot. It's more of a motel than a hotel. All the rooms have entrances from the outside. The room was rather small and the bathroom was rather gross considering the price I paid for the hotel. Not a bad experience but probably wouldn't stay there again

Great stay, other than the cafeteria was out of most things for breakfast.

Overall, a good experience, but not a hotel to stay for longer than 2 or 3 days. Friendly staff.

There was some stains on the sheet, And a lot of dirt blown under the door. And the heater was Nosey

Located in Brighton (a very cool and over looked section of Boston), a short drive (up to 2 miles) to many great pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. It's only a couple miles to Fenway and about a 15 minute drive to downtown Boston. It's a motel, not a hotel, but it is very clean and comfy. Not sketchy or typical motel-like at all. Though the decor and furniture is updated, the bathroom wasn't really. My only complaints were that the air conditioner is pre-set so it wouldn't go below 65 and the room was quite hot (78°) when we arrived and that it is $20/night to park your car (that wasn't listed when we booked). Staff were great. Best price for the area. Great location (we love Brighton area). Would definitely stay again.

Loud, no sound proofing, between floors or outdoors. Old. Not very clean. The bed was comfortable. That is the one positive thing I can say.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I was here on a 5-day business trip. After the first day, I had to run to the Walgreens to grab some Ajax and a sponge. Unfortunately, my shower hadn't been cleaned prior to renting the room to me. The shower was disgustingly slimy. I simply could not bear it. The bedspread had marks on it as if it should have been cleaned before remaking the bed. As far as I could tell, the fitted/top sheets were clean. The toilet, sink, mini-fridge, and the room overall was clean. The mini-fridge was an added bonus for me because instead of eating out so much I got a fruit salad tray and coconut water, etc for the fridge and was able to save money there. I took Uber twice a day or more to and from this hotel. Uber Pool pickup was extremely fast and affordable. Desk staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The complimentary continental breakfast was not bad at all. The waffle maker was a nice touch in which you were able to make your own waffles. They also had a glass, mini-cooler with yogurts, etc in it which was nice. There were plenty of utensils and condiments each morning. Like I said, overall I can't complain. I had a nice stay.

The condition of the facilities is improved over an earlier visit but the staff needs a service upgrade. When checking in I found someone else's leftovers in the refrigerator. I asked the desk to remove it while I was at dinner, when I returned I found my door not fully closed. The TV didn't work and the front desk didn't know what to do. The following day my trash wasn't emptied.

Front desk staff was thorough and polite, and the breakfast room staff (br.-room was small) was visible the whole time cleaning and restocking. The tub in our room needed better scrubbing, and a sheet on my companion's bed had a weird stain she was glad she didn't notice until after she woke up. Hotel public space is open (few spots for creepy folks to hide). Neighborhood is mixed student and middle/high income residents with shops and restaurants on the main street. Safe-feeling for us and our young teen girl scout troop.

Nice stay not so far from city center, close to the subway station

We stayed 13 nights. The first week we relied on MBTA for transportation to downtown and the closer-in attractions. We rented a car for the last 6 days, for outlying places like Salem, Plymouth, Lexington, and Concord. This worked out well. We chose this hotel (a motel, really) for its low rates and proximity to an MBTA subway stop. It turns out there are stops on 3 different Green lines (B, C, and D) within about a 10-minute walk. We were quite happy with the motel overall.

Hotel was great for an overnight stay or longer. The complementary breakfast was very good with lots of healthy choices. Staff was very helpful and polite. Room was clean and comfortable with a refrigerator and micro-wave oven. Free parking was an added bonus. Hotel location was in a nice, safe residential, city location. There are plenty of food choices within walking distance as well as a Whole Foods and lots of convenience/neighborhood type stores. Good public transportation was also within walking distance.

We stayed here during a brief trip to visit prospective universities. The hotel was a great value for the price, in an enjoyable neighborhood, easy to access, and service was responsive.

We stayed in the hotel for one night. The room and the breakfast were good but we ran into an unexpected problem right after our arrival. We were kept waiting in the lobby for a long time because the machine preparing room keys did not work and the key was not ready. Finally we had realized that the people at front desk should have their own keys, so we asked somebody to go with us to the room and let us in. This suggestion was accepted by the staff. A key was never given to us but the staff was readily available for a trip to our room whenever we had to enter. I would expect any hotel to have a backup solution for such situations.

Convenient location and well priced. I would highly recommend this hotel for the price. Thank you!
