When spending weeks at a hotel while working a temporary job it is important to find the right place. I have done this many times and although I prefer the Hilton brand for gaining "points" I am staying at the Marriott in Brisbane California as the best choice this time. Only downside is no King bed only Queen. The hotel is located conveniently on the bay with nice walking trails around the bay. One side has a train very close by and the 101 freeway close by but it is not really noisy. The other side is on the bay and very quiet. The rooms are clean and of good size unlike the HIlton Homewood suites nearby which is older and smaller rooms. The staff here are super nice. Monday thru Wednesdays they have a special get together in the evening with beer and wine and snacks. Very nice. Breakfast is not the same at all Hiltons and Marriotts and I like the breakfast here better than the one in San Jose. Gym is small but ok for what I need it for. Pool is outdoors but heated and they have a hot spa. Parking is plentiful and easy access to the 101. Shuttle bus to the airport twice an hour. Can catch the BART to downtown San Francisco from the airport.
Marriott Residence Inn is hard to find. It is at the end of a long private road that winds past two other Marriott hotels. The staff is very friendly and helpful but the property is dated and the rooms are small. We had a full modern kitchen which was fine. Bathroom was tiny. Sink was in bedroom. Only one elevator. The best part was the beautiful view of the bay. They also have a very nice outdoor heated pool. Breakfast in lobby paled in comparison with nearby Embassy Suites.
We stayed as a family ( 2 kids and 2 adults) in their 1 bedroom suite in June 2017. The suite is regular - nothing special in terms of size, cleanliness, amenities etc. I would say it is a regular/standard all suite hotel only highly overpriced. The only up side is the location which is not very far from the main tourist attractions (we were on a holiday). The free internet was satisfactory and all the basis tasks can be completed. The breakfast was standard and there is nothing to complain. The hotel runs a meet and greet kind of a event on 2 to 3 days in the week so that guests could meet and mingle with each other - which i thought was a good idea. Overall it is standard hotel but not enough bank for the buck.
At close to $500 a night, you'd expect a bit more. However, we were utterly disappointed. Room condition wasn't great as there were items left in the fridge by, likely, previous guest or guests. There were also items discovered in the bathroom sink and bathtub sink that should have been cleaned out. Breakfast area was filled with people. After standing in line for 20 minutes for a pancake/waffle, materials are gone. When we tried asking the service personnel for more, the lady rudely answered you need to come down earlier. Breakfast ends at 9 and that's the cutoff time. That was really rude and unacceptable. Hotel is situated by the water and one would assume it would be a quiet at night. On the contrary, the noise levels from both train tracks and freeway nearby are quite annoying. In any event, we may not choose this hotel when returning to the region in the future.
We stayed here on our way in and out of area to be close to the airport, 2 grandparents with 2 grandkids. 1st night lots of noise from the highway and train. 2nd night (after requesting a quieter room at check out night 1) we were over sports court and much quieter. Rooms (2 bed/2bath suite) were clean, well stocked and just what we needed. The price was much less than getting 2 rooms at other hotels in the area, a big win in my book for just a place to sleep. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Front desk very polite and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again.
The hotel is located at the end of a long narrow road with huge speed bumps. There is local construction going on which makes it even more unattractive. The inside of the hotel is dated. The furnishings in the room are dated and on the low end. The internet was very slow. The bedroom was small and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. The blankets were cheap and thin. The breakfast was good.
If you love quiet hotels and free from the highway then this hotel is for you! In the lovely fresh breeze of San Francisco this hotel deserves a 5 star for being clean, friendly staff, quiet rooms, BIG rooms, lovely amazing breakfast! My family & I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks and I am more than happy to say I don't regret coming here at all, we stayed on the second floor which was very quiet and free of all highway noises. We moved up to the third floor (room 313) which was extremely quiet as well!!! The third floors have a toaster & the second floor does not (I am unsure about the first floor), breakfast is served until 9 am or 10 am; (they take away the toaster after breakfast down in the lobby so... if you love toast for your mornings ask to have a room on the second or third floor!!) Wonderful stay, big room (for a family of 3 or 4), has a child pull out sofa bed. Happy travels!
Stayed here as part of our California tour and chose this hotel for its price, free parking, in room kitchen, free breakfast and occasional free dinner. Reviewed other options closer to town and could not find all of these benefits. Yes it is further away from most of the other airport hotels near an office park that seems to be rapidly expanding so more local dining options may also soon appear. Hotel is convenient on/off for highway into town or airport. Highway and railway tracks are right across the parking lot and very noticeable, so front facing room may have constant background noise. I was lucky to be upgraded to water facing view and I would only slightly hear the occasional train. Got the single room bed and the teenagers slept on the sofa bed. A little tight, but we managed easily. Windows do open so you can get fresh air or the air conditioning was very effective and relatively quiet. Appliances all worked well and they provide dishwasher powder. Hotel has a basketball net so you can borrow a ball to stretch out, gym also has windows that open to get fresh air while working out. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. The breakfast area does get packed at times, so try to get there early if you like a relaxing breakfast. No issues with room to room noise transfer. The room has light switches with auto sensors, but only the one leading to bathroom would seem to turn on by itself. Would have liked to have an instruction sheet on how to turn off that feature as night time bathroom visits woke up others.
We had a wonderful experience at this Residence Inn. The front desk staff was kind and knowledgable about the surrounding area. The housekeeper was wonderful and allowed my kids to nap and returned later. I plan to stay at more Residence Inns in the future because of this experience.
My family and arrived for a one night stay at the Oyster Point Residence Inn after a day in San Francisco. We were directed by the staff to park our RV behind the north-west building. We inquired as to its safety and we're told there were security cameras and their security staff to watch it. My husband went down at 2 am to check on it, and all seemed fine. When the 8 of us were ready to leave the next morning, we found one of our 4 bikes had been literally CUT OFF the back of our rig. In that we still had 2 weeks of travel ahead of us, and it was MY bike that had been stolen, I was rather disheartened when the manager and staff did NOTHING. They did not comp our rooms, however, they gave us a small discount. I mean a VERY small discount. When we returned home, we received a letter barely apologizing for the theft. We have been Marriott people for 30 years. Not very happy with this situation. Not happy with the facility, the staff at the location, nor Marriott. Beware of this location!!
