Worse experience of my traveling life, and I have been a business traveler for over 30 years!!!!! Hotel was disgusting................stop the deceptive advertising of this property by showing the picture that you do!!!!!!!!!!!!! That picture IS NOT what the hotel is. Its a dump. I was on a business dinner at 7 30 pm and someone from the hotel tried to call me and tell me I had to check in because it was getting late.................excuse me..................I had a guaranteed reservation......................... There was no parking unless you wanted to walk around the corner..........so the guy made me park my car in front right near the main highway where it could have possibly been hit. This hotel was so disgusting I sat the chair most of the stay.. Was afraid to put my head down and sleep on the bed. I am a diamond member at a leading hotel chain, which was sold out which is the only reason for my stay at this dump.....and I mean dump!!!!!! There are other independent hotels on Lombard street in the same area which I have stayed at before and they were clean and nothing like this disgusting dump. IT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!
I came to SF for a quick one day trip and booked this hotel because it was cheap and close to the place that I needed to be ! But the room was horrible, the sheets were dirty and had some marks on it the same as white towels. Floor in the bathroom wasn't clean and there was even black hair. In the morning when I was drying my hair I heard some noise and when I turned my head up I saw water was dreeping from the ceiling in the shower cabin. When I told that to the guy on a reception his face was look like he wasn't surprised ! Guys if you ever going to stay at that hotel, don't book it !
A bit out dated, parking is a challenge, but overall a good bargain. Will stay again.
I've recently stayed 2 nights in this place. When arrived, the young receptionist guy sent me to a room which wasn't cleaned after the previous guests. So without apologising he gave me an other room which was street facing and was like hell from 4am till midnight because of the constant noise. Had to go back to him because of the short of towels at the room. The booking say its include breakfast! Yeah, NO! There is NO breakfast in this place. White toast with butter,, nothing else.. not even paper plate. But have seen 7 large box of pastry behind the desk which never been given to the guests. The room is dated, patchy old dirts around the bed and wasn't sure our bedlinen was washed after the previous guest. After check out, I have to pressure the guy to give me the invoice of my stay because he tried to avoid invoicing me!
Room door jammed. Had to constantly go to desk to get master key. Accommodations were OKAY, nothing special. It did have a fridge and microwave. Decor much to be desired(taped and glued lamp).
This was perhaps the worst hotel I've stayed at in the US. The carpets were moldy, they smelled like vomit, and there were iron-shaped burns in at least three locations. The fire alarm had been broken and the wires cut. The heater had been pulled from the wall, the metal grates bent and jagged. I stayed for two nights, and the staff couldn't even give me a key card to my room until late morning on the second day. I had to get them to let me in whenever I left, and they were difficult to track down. Twice while I was in the room random people came in with master keys, simply unlocking the door and walking in. I took to closing the security latch while I was in the room, and storing my valuables in the trunk of my rental car while I was out. The walls of the room were paper thin. I could hear every word my neighbors spoke, even in conversational tones. There isn't enough parking for the number of rooms they have, and they store extra mattresses outside in the parking spots. In short, it was filthy, the staff was difficult, and despite it being in a good location, I never felt comfortable or safe there. Never again. Check the Yelp ratings for this hotel. At this writing, other users are giving them one star as well.
The hotel was great. Spacious room for 4 people. We were pleased to find out that there was a mini kitchen in our room. The view was amazing right from our windows. Great value, will definitely stay again.
No air con or fan, and the window has no screen so you could not open the window to let fresh air come in. No ventilation at all. It smells bad in the bathroom. It was so noisy due to the ongoing construction work in the adjacent building.
Decently clean and comfortable, grumpy desk staff, close to Cow Hollow and Marina restaurants.
I should have listen to the review but I thought I'd be out sightseeing and would not be spending much time in our room but looking back I should have book a different hotel. When I first got there they didn't even have my reservation! Man at front desk was rude and told me I had to get ahold of the company I booked threw. Walked away for a few mintues to get the customer service number and as I started calling he said he found the reservation, but he didn't have and knowledge of how many stays and took 15-20 min to check in. Room itself is old and outdated there is no a/c and it was 95 degrees during our stay room was stuffy and felt like a sauna everytime we came back from our outing. Had to have the door and windows wide open the whole time we were in the room and the window do not have screens so it's just wide open. The Hotel seemed like a apartment complex like people lived there or hung out there . Breakfeast was a joke all there was was sandwich bread to toast with butter or cream cheese and juice machine and coffe machine but the juice machine didn't even work. Luckily there was an restaurant next door. I would not stay here ever again.
The location is good. Not too fat from downtown and attractions. The room was not clean specially the bathroom had stuff on the walls. The bathroom ceiling was leaking water from the above floor. We couldnt stay 2 nights the beds were saggy and the whole cleanliness of the place was questionable. We do not recommend this hotel and we will never stay there again.
Staff: NOT ok. - Breakfast starts @ 8am. The guy woke up slowly and opened the door to the lobby @ 8:15, then started putting food... ready @ 8:30! - Gave me a smoking room ( I asked for non-smoking). When I told him he said that it WAS non smoking.. after I stood there staring at him (and his wife) he gave me the non-smoking room!
I couldn't really expect much from this hotel given the price we paid. The room was pretty nice though. But the walls were pretty thin. When I went downstairs to ask for more towels and the manager opened the storage room door, I saw a mouse scurrying about. That made me uneasy. But for 2 nights in the city, it wasn't that bad. Parking was free, which was a bonus, but the parking is limited. Location was great and was pretty central to all of the tourist attractions.
We stayed in this hotel for the final weekend of our honeymoon in San Francisco. I chose this hotel because it was inexpensive, and being unfamilar with the area, I thought its location on Lombard street meant we'd be near the "crookedest street in the world" part. (Be warned: you're 15-20 blocks from that in a non-descript area near an IHOP - not charming). When we arrived around 4PM (several hours after check-in) we found housekeeping still cleaning our room. The front desk man was unaware of this - we had to go back down and tell him she was in there. And he made no apologies. I thought he might move us to another room or at least call and ask when she'd be finishing, but he just said nothing. So we waited outside for about 20 minutes and kept checking on her ourselves. Then, when we entered, our hotel wreaked of cheap lime cleaner. There is something unsettling about going into a just-been-cleaned hotel room. I like there to be an hour or two for the odors to disperse! The bathrooms were tiny - a pedastal sink with no storage and no vanity area. The rooms were insanely dark with gross maroon carpet. There was no air conditioner - which we found wasn't uncommon in California since it's pretty temperate year round. But we happened to be there on two warmer days and we were fairly uncomfortable. There was no fan. And we didn't feel safe opening a window due to the location and noise outside. The worst came the first morning when, despite our "Privacy Please" sign on the door knob, housekeeping came bursting into our room while we were still in bed! Also, children ran back and forth in front of our door all morning spinning our Privacy sign for fun. When looking for a discounted hotel, I will always seek out chains like Holiday Inn that I know are consistently satisfactory from now on. Location-wise, we walked about 20 blocks to Fisherman's Wharf - not terrible for two twenty-somethings but we definitely could've been closer and more comfortable. Look for another location.
when we arrive I noticed that there was no microwave or coffee machine in the room. These were listed in the room discription. I called down and asked for them and was told I would have to wait for the manager in the morning. We had to leave at 5:30 that morning for an apptointment. Whe I returned that night I asked again and was told that they would have moved me in the morning if I had come in. I never got either the micro of coffee machine. Also there was not a lock on the inside door and I was very uncomfortablein the night.
ok i was only there for the night, got in at 6pm & out at 7am, thankfully, could here every noise from the rooms either side & above, was very thankful i had my ipod to drown out the noise when trying to get to sleep. If it's a budget thing then it's clean & but one night in & out. It advertised breakfast & in the room the sign said breakfast started at 7.00am but there was no breakfast happening the morning I was there, not sure if it happened later
We were in town for the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass concert in Golden Gate Park. It's pretty easy to get to from the motel. We also went to Fisherman's Wharf and did some other touristy sorts of things. This motel is in a great location to get just about anywhere in SF. We had a nice, spacious room (probably the biggest room we've ever stayed in in SF. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. We will stay there again.
This hotel is not a bad choice if you are on a budget. The staff tries their best to make sure you are happy. Did i mention you are in the middle of every attraction !!!
We were cautious at first as the outside of the hotel is badly needing of a face lift, but the staff's friendliness changed our tune. We come to San Francisco a lot and this was a last minute reservation before heading out the door. We simply picked the area and then took a chance on the hotel. The rooms were basic but very clean and recently updated and renovated. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants and shopping plus the bus stop was also close by. For a basic, clean hotel I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.
The hotel was all that I could ask for! Nice/Safest community in the City plus nightlife/restaurants/shops are very close by! Plenty of free parking and rooms are great size and immaculate. Great deal for the money! Staff was friendly and even provided free continental breakfast. Would definitely stay again!
