After we went to sleep, the front desk gave our room key to another couple we didn't know, who then barged in, thinking it was their room. The front desk called us after that happened to ask if we knew them! The people left when they figured out what had happened, and the hotel gave us a partial refund in the morning, but there was a lot they could have done to prevent that from happening. Also, there were no deadlocks on the door for us to prevent that from happening.

It's best features were the helpful, friendly staff and the comfortable bed. My room was large and the bathroom was adequate. I really appreciated the nice refrigerator, which was larger than I expected. The location also worked well for me because it is relatively close to the airport and provided easy to access the places I needed to go, particularly to the Woodside area to the south. Also, as a 75-year-old woman traveling alone, I felt safe there. The breakfast was so-so (hardboiled egg, doughnut holes, Greek yogurt, apple) as was the decor and furnishings. I would have very much appreciated a chair with arms to sit in and relax. (There was only the desk chair.) For the most part the room seemed clean, but I would have felt better if I someone had cleaned the fingerprints from the bathroom door. My greatest complaint is that I could hear a lot of sounds--voices, walking, opening and close drawers, and romantic activities--from the room on the other side of my bed. Still, these didn't generally go on too late and I was able to sleep well there.

We went to the Dickens Faire at the Cow Palace. The inn is within walking distance saving on the hassle of parking!

We stayed in a two queen room, and it is nice that the second bed is in a separate room, but it needed a little nightstand with a lamp. It tends to stay quite chilly because of the tiled floors. We had to change our room after the first night because the television did not work, and the sink did not have a stopper to keep the water in the bowl. Doughnut holes are now in the continental breakfast instead of the breakfast pastry that they used to have, which I must say I found tacky.

William was so helpful at check-in. He was very professional, friendly, and helpful. He answered lots of questions for me & gave great suggestions for activities. I loved that the room had hardwood (well, laminate) floors. CLEAN! It is an older hotel, but our room was in excellent condition. It is unique and had nice style. I loved that we parked immediately in front of our room! It also had great shower pressure, a big plus for me! Breakfast was packed in a to-go box. Simple, but perfect for heading out to see the city. It is close to SFSU, which was our intended destination.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The rooms appeared to be recently remodeled and they did a great job. Rooms are quite unique, wall separate the two beds. Giving families a little bit of privacy for each, bad thing is that only one room has a TV. Very close to freeway and local land marks in the bay area.

Checked me in quickly and early when m flight arrived early from NY. Warm and wonderful reception. Felt safe and valued as a customer.

Everything was clean, private and gorgeous. The staff was outstanding!

Clean room, friendly staff. Stayed for 3 nights and one those nights guests came late and left early, made lots of noise, walls are thin. But I think if you stay at any hotel you should consider the other guests and try to be a bit more quite.

No glitches but it's a 1950's motel in an unsafe neighborhood.

Older motel. Well priced. Not convenient to public transportation.you will probably need to rent a car. Nice staff. Boxed breakfast included usually contains hard boiled egg yogurt orange doughnut holes coffee. Close to the cow palace.

Easy and nice parking, don't worry. For this part where they might make you put more words and really want to put in so anyways that's about it.

Excellent staff and cleanliness, reasonable price, good stay.

We first checked in for one night, 2 rooms. The staff was very friendly and upgraded us to their King suites because our reservations were lost. We were in town because a family member had to have surgery at UCSF. After checking out we found out that my family had to stay another night in the hospital. I instantly booked a room for another night at the Alpine inn. The second night we were in a standard queen room. All 3 rooms were very nice and clean. The TV in the standard room was nicer than the suite.

Close to the airport, but further away from The main attractions. But San Francisco is a pretty small city, so if you are driving, esp in off-peak hours, the location is really not a disadvantage.

The hotel was nice staff friendly and helpful, specially Jennifer and Julie. However, during our first night stay, we got a very little room (#124) and the toilet was clogged when we flushed dirty water overflowed all over the bathroom/bedroom floor making a huge mess in our room at 3-4 am! The next night, the hotel staff moved us to a bigger room. Breakfast was good and satisfying. The weather was really rainy and windy during our stay and made it very difficult to visit San Francisco. We wanted to stay another night to visit the city and its attractions but the prices skyrocketed from one moment to another from $65+tax/night to more than $220+tax/night.

The rooms are tiny, but pretty clean and have microwave and fridge. I barely spend time there besides night time, so it was perfect place to come back after long day, take hot shower (and I loved how their water does get really hot, in some hotels it's not going above certain temperature) and relax for an hour before going to sleep. You don't get to see the bay, just the horizon and sky above it, but it still looked magnificent at sunrise. The breakfast choice was decent, so overall its a good place to stay for couple of night if you're not planning to be in a lot

It was s great stay because the room was clean and comfortable. The location made this place a hidden gem but very safe and quiet.

Rooms were nice and clean. Cant beat free parking. Fridge and microwave were a plus.
