The plus is the SPA / MASSAGE / SWIMMING POOL within the hotel which is a very big advantage. The concierge's availability is to be recorded in the annals. MAYA massages are an immediate effectiveness.

This was my third stay. Great location if you want to be near 5th avenue and about a five minute walk to the beach. The closest beach is Mamitas Beach Club. If that is not what you are looking for, you can walk about five minutes north to be in a much quieter location. The hotel has a great little spot for breakfast, the rooms are comfortable and clean. Nice linens, good water pressure, TV with NFL network in English, mini fridge, good AC and a nice little pool. Very Friendly staff and great prices, lush landscaping etc. Not a resort but I give it five stars for being just what it is supposed to be. Not trendy, just an old school small hotel.

Have been coming to the BRIC for several years now. Friendly staff and very accommodating. They have always seen to my needs plus suggesting great places to eat. The grounds are well kept and the breakfast is just right and included. A real favorite for me and my family!!

My Husband & I arrived at the Bric Hotel around 8 pm . We were greeted by Arturo & shown to our lovely cool (air con already on) room. Arturo spoke excellent English & was very helpful. We stayed for 10 nights & couldn't fault it. Comfortable bed , spotlessly clean, wonderful breakfast served every day by Maria. All the staff from front desk to cleaners were friendly & helpful& couldn't do enough for us. Special thanks go to Angel at the front desk, who taught my husband some Spanish, everyday! Being able to have clean towels every day for the beach & the pool was a really nice touch. We both took advantage of the spa & had a wonderful massage by Susanne. The location of the hotel is excellent , for shops, restaurants & the beech. We had a wonderful, relaxing hoilday & would definitly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful small hotel in Playa del Carmen. Clean rooms, nice swimming pool, delicious and diffrent breakfest every day. AC working well. Near many shops and restaurants, and in walking distatnce from the bus station and pier where the boats leave for Cozumel. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would deffinatly come back again.

Great location. Nice, clean rooms. Staff is very knowledgable, courteous and helpful. Great Breakfasts. We had something made different every day that included wonderful fruit, toast, coffee and tea. This place is so central to everything. Felt very safe and secure with security when returned late at night with gates locked. The spa area was convenient up the stairs and Jacqueline and staff were great. Highly recommend!

Only stayed here for a couple days but really enjoyed the stay. The room, we got a deluxe room, was very spacious with a massive bed and nice fixtures and decor. The breakfast is made fresh every morning by the lovely Mexican lady, don't know her name, and the dish is changed every day. We had fresh fruit, French toast with pecans and honey and scrambled eggs. It was lovely. The wifi was very hit and miss which is unfortunate as we were planning our trip on a day to day basis. They have 24 hour access which is great if your going out for a drink or party. The hotel is only a couple blocks from the beach, Manita beach club, and is just off of 5th avenue for all the shops and restaurants.

Small hotel just off 5th Avenue. In a good location only about 2 minutes was to 5th Ave. The hotel was clean and neat. Check in and out was relatively straight forward. There is a small outdoor pool and bar area. I am not sure if it was used to serve alcohol - we only saw it utilised for breakfast. Most of the rooms seemed to overlook the pool area. Am not sure if rooms were supposed to be cleaned on a daily basis - ours weren't. This was a bit annoying. Breakfast was included but was a fairly small affair. There isnt a gym or business centre. Beds were relatively comfortable but rooms were a little on the small side. The website we booked through claimed the hotel was a 4.5 star rating but I would have thought only 3/3.5 star.

If you've read my posts you know I've previously visited Playa del Carmen in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. That trip was great: Good food, great walking environment, loved it. This review is about another of the many fine non-resort hotels in Playa--The Bric Hotel and Spa. The Bric is one of those businesses that want to do everything right and succeeds. No kidding, everything has been perfect: The rooms are well-designed and clean, the breakfast is excellent, the staff are efficient and informative, I hear from others that the Spa has great personnel (I'm not into massages, wouldn't know). All-in-all this has been one of the best hotel experiences I've had without the exorbitant expense. What more could a person want? Answer: Quick and easy access to 5th Avenue, the main shopping and partying part of Playa. You're also centrally located if you want to visit Tulum or Cancun, and, you're a ferry ride from Cozumel. The restaurants in Playa are incredible (see my restaurant reviews from this visit). Did I fail to mention that this area is a paradise? Why are you still reading? Open another tab and search for hotel deals at Bric Hotel and Spa. By the way, my previous review of the Banana Hotel is a bit dated--they're remodeling and closed at this time (mid-August 2017).
