Grounds and building need major update . Place was clean ,but not enough staff and only 2 restaurants , one open for breakfast , lunch and dinner other only open 3 days a week by reservation. Looks like they are trying to save money even that the place seamed full.

I’ve stayed here for about 40 weeks over the last 17 years. It’s always my go to. I wish the hotel would offer direct booking options for regular customers that are competitive or better than third party booking sites. Like they used to. Seems like it would be more beneficial for the hotel if they had less overhead. Most of tur wireless access points have been removed and there is very limited wifi on the property now unless you are in the lobby or restaurants. Room wifi was non existent in 1220 and no one in my group of 12 had room wifi. Roaming is a must if you need to manage your business remotely. It seems like the quality ebbs and flows since Mr Toledo & Falcon passed away.

First let me preface by saying my husband a I have been staying here for 15 years. We have seen the ups and downs of this hotel over the years. I will focus on the changes and issues I saw this stay. Rooms have been updated and now include a fridge which is nice. The hammock in the room just serves as another place for us to hang our wet dive gear up to dry. Now for the issues…the food has taken a turn for the worse. There is not much variety, it was warm at best, and they did not have the dinners outside with the menus that we liked. The hot tub which we look forward to was cold and the temp was never turned up. The staff as always was wonderful and is probably the main reason we always come back. We love Cornelio and Sylvia at breakfast. Luisa and Joel were wonderful at lunch. Valentin and Alberto run a tight ship at dinner. The bartenders Mario, Gustavo, Rellez are wonderful and always greet us with a smile. Daniel the day security out front is also very helpful with any questions about taxi service, shopping, etc. We will more than likely be back in the spring and hopefully things will again improve.

Getting There The trip from the airport to Puerto Morelos was full of surprises. I’ve been visiting Mexico almost every year since 1995, and this was the first time I’ve seen Route 307 in such poor condition. Vegetation was overgrown above eye level, the road had numerous potholes, many lane markings were faded or missing, and several signs were either damaged or incomplete, showing only partial directions. Upon arrival in Puerto Morelos, we encountered even more potholes and narrow, uneven streets. Parking Valet service were our only option - not ideal, especially since our room was located very close to the parking lot. The staff required us to leave the car keys with the valet attendants, which proved inconvenient; one day, it took about 20 minutes just to get our car. Restaurants The resort offers several good dining options, we loved the Mediterranean and Japanese. The cafeteria also had a wide and satisfying selection of dishes. Facilities The property itself is very attractive and well maintained. Beach The beach was comfortable and equipped with plenty of palapas for shade. However, during our stay, sargassum was a major and issue despite the continuous efforts of the staff. Pools There are two beautiful pools, both featuring swim-up bars. They were consistently clean and inviting. People The staff, overall, were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I’d like to recognize Jose, Davi, Nora, Synthia, Miguel (Restaurant), Alfredo, Elder (Bar), Diana (Grill).

We were there to celebeate our 50th Wedding Anniversary with our family and friends. The staff was wondeful!! The food was excellent!! The pool was large and well-kept. Whether we were at the beach or the pool, there was always ample chairs available. I would highly recommend this resort

Great resort for scuba diving or for anyone wanting to spend time around the (gorgeous) pool. There isn’t a “beach” but there are plenty of lounge chairs and hammocks on sand right above the ocean. There’s also a walkway down into the ocean for swimmers. BRING BUG SPRAY. Mosquitos are prevalent around the ocean/outdoor eating areas. Food had a great variety

The Cozumel Hotel and Resort was an incredible place to stay for myself and my family. We reserved two standard rooms with a pool view. What we loved: The staff were accommodating and went above and beyond to provide activities and entertainment, hourly. Evening shows were spectacular! The pool is heated, and the indoor and outdoor spaces are aesthetically pleasing. Our favorite part about the room was a hammock by the sliding glass door, which provided beautiful access to the patio and views of the pool. There is no beach, but there is a beautiful sandy area and the ocean is easily accessible with instant snorkel opportunities right off the shore. Not to mention, the hotel has complimentary snorkel gear for the whole family. What we thought was just OK: The food kept us fed, but after a full week of eating there, the selection felt limited. We absolutely loved all the servers and chefs, though. What we didn't enjoy at all: The bathrooms had layers of paint and mold. The showers and toilets weren't the best to say the least. The smell of mildew deep in the halls was almost unbearable at times. If you're looking for affordability, The Cozumel experience, safety and fun, along with the all inclusive package, this hotel is absolutely a great option.
