The street was closed down in front of the hotel and we were told the week before our stay, but they failed to tell us that there would be construction all night long. This kept us up the entire stay. When I tried to get a room changed I was told there were none available and that we just had to deal with the construction

Nice overnight stay

Had a quick overnight stay. The rooms were snug in size but enough for the purpose of our trip. Not too surprised for a hotel room in the city. Considering that, it’s a busy area so plenty of city sounds - horns and sirens. Convenient to Starbucks, bakery, CVS and the T for traveling around the city. Prepare to pay a lot for overnight and valet parking.

3rd floor room was above something that sounded like a running cement truck. No soap in the bathroom. Luckily, the receptionist was able to change our room which was much better! Good service overall. Lots of construction in the area- so very noisy by 6:30 in the morning

Across the street they were building a hospital and they started working at 5 am and I was unable to sleep while I was there. It would have been nice if we were warned. I just did not get any sleep while at the hotel

We chose the hotel for its proximity to the hospital. We were not sure if we needed to stay an extra day and when checked “hospital guest rate” from one day to next that rate jumped up a significant amounts on the next day from the time of discharge to getting to the hotel (approximately 30 min) it jumped up again a significant amount. If we had any other choice we would not have chosen to stay here.

Proximity to MGH, where I had a relative having surgery. Cafes in the area are great. Breakfast at Deans List was good (a bit slow after it was served, but the food was good.) I did have an awful encounter in the evening, around 11pm. I had horrible leg cramps that made it nearly impossible to walk and needed ice. 7th floor ice machine wasnt working. So I went to desk/had to ring bell. Older guy that came out was perturbed, told me there was no ice and to go to 2nd floor. (Although he was standing no more than 12 feet from the bar, which clearly has ice.) No machine on 2nd floor. Went back to first, & a security guy was there. Security guy says, "Well I'm sure there's ice at the bar...give me the bucket" & he filled it for me. Back room desk manager/clerk was awful; security guard was a gem. Also, I had my car (a Tesla) valet parked, & I got an alert near midnight that someone was trying to get into it on the driver's door (not using the valet key), but my car's alarm/security system prevented entry. I called the desk asking they report it to the valet stand. Whomever I talked to told me it was impossible, which is BS. He told me it was a secure facility... & no one could get to my car, but video footage showed someone was trying the door to get in. I got a second alert about 1/2 hr later, but that appeared to be the valet checking the car. Im thinking parking streetside would have been safer, or leaving it at the garages at MGH, which would have felt safer for 1/3 the cost.

I liked location, property, staff and room. The bathroom was quite small and the cost of overnight parking was expensive, $69 per day. Otherwise the location was great for us. Flour, the bakery next door to the hotel was awesome. Great coffee and a huge choice of baked goods. We will stay there again.

Wyndham Beacon Hill is right next to Beacon Hill, a really nice neighbourhood, Boston Commons park, 2 Subway lines, the Massachusetts General Hospital, and has plenty of restaurants and cafe nearby. It's in a stellar location for a very fair price. Staff and facilities were pretty good too.
