The pictures are more grand looking than the property. They are currently adding 85 rooms off one side of the pool, so when it's windy, there's quite a bit of dust. Hallways are tile so sound carries all through - including when they turn on the music in the lobby and main hallway. The Bar was manned by 1 person, who was also doubling as the room service attendant in the evening, so you had to whistle for someone to pour you a drink. Restaurant was so so. There's nothing to do out there, other than golf or walk the course. Uber is available for a reasonable price to take you into town.
We have stayed here a couple of times. Love the rooms. But every time the service is worse. Will not be staying here again. Very dissapointed! If your looking for service I think this is not the place.
This place was surprisingly lovely....a resort in the center of an industrial area. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable and the grounds are gorgeous. The included breakfast was very good. We wish we would have had time to play the round of golf which was included in the room rate!
The hotel is located on the Western side of town sort of away from much of the rest of the city. It has fairly good up to date rooms. This place also offers a restaurant and bar. They also include a basic breakfast.
This hotel is located in the Campestre Montebello which is an upper class neighborhood. It is on the east side of the city, pretty far from other hotels but to me, it was worth the drive. There are security guards that let you in. The rooms are 5 star quality. The air conditioner keeps the room cool day and night. However, the restroom has a very cramped space and you are 99.9% likely to hit the toilet paper dispenser with your elbow. The restaurant is surprisingly affordable. We ordered some club sandwiches and the price with tip included was cheap. They have a lot of graduations and weddings during the week and on weekends so you'll see a lot of people dressed up fancy as you walk across the hotel. The pool is big, beautiful and it even has a swim up bar which closes at 10 pm. Included with our stay we received a free breakfast buffet which was filling but there wasn't a whole lot of variety and you are only allowed to drink coffee which was delicious. As you eat breakfast though, the restaurant has a beautiful view of the golf course. Overall, it was a great stay and my family and I look forward to returning to this hotel.
Best facility in a long time. Great staff, great service, great food, excellent value. Hard to cover all the wonderful attributes. While management sits behind the scenes, their work is evident. Highly recommended.
We spent two nights at this property, while attending a wedding. It was our first time visiting Torreon, and while we do not anticipate we will be ever going back, if we did we would definitely consider staying at the Montebello. Our room was very spacious, the beds were comfortable, and we were lucky in that our room faced the main entrance, which turned out to be a very quiet location. Despite the fact that there were large parties happening on both nights we spent at the Montebello, we were not disturbed by the noise. The pool area was OK. Neither the pool nor the "hot tub" are heated. I presume this is not an issue if you happen to visit Torreon during the Summer, but in November the water was quite cold. The little waddling pool was quite murky and also very cold - our 6-year-old didn't show any interest in it. The whole area surrounding the hotel is submerged in a heavy industrial sulfur-like smell, which is annoying and unpleasant. Even though we were told that it was possible to order food by the pool, this turned out not to be the case, due to all the staff being "busy serving breakfast". On arrival we noticed that our room had not been vacuumed, as there was confetti and dirt on the carpet. We requested housekeeping, and a gentleman showed up with a broom. After unsuccessfully trying to sweep the carpet, we suggested he brought a vacuum. He gave us a confused look, and came back with the biggest shop-vac we have ever seen, which had clearly been used outdoors. As he "cleaned" our room the monstrous vacuum started spitting dust from the back, effectively creating a dust storm in our room. By the time the gentleman was done cleaning, it was impossible to see from one side of the room to the other. Unfortunately the hotel was full and it was not possible to switch rooms. In hand sight, some confetti and dirt on the floor were a much better option than vacuuming. All in all, once the dust settled, we had an OK stay at the Montebello. We won't be exploring the other lodging options available in Torreon, but from what we saw when driving through the city, this place is like an oasis. If you have to go to Torreon, this hotel seems like a good choice.
It's a nice hotel if you like playing golf or if you plan to visit the industrial park. The rooms have plenty of space, the bar has a nice pool table and it's very comfortable, the only point to improve is the breakfast buffet, it's very limited and some times you need to ask and ask again for the same things. It's far from the downtown and the shopping malls. It s a good place to stay if you visit Torreon. The staff is very kind.
This hotel is within a resort (golf) and a high-end residential enclave, but not near the downtown business area. Before booking make sure it is close to where you need to go. The place is new and very quiet with large modern rooms. Everything was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of hot water and a large shower. My only personal concern was that my room did not have an exterior exit (window). If there was a fire the only exit was through a door, through a "foyer" area and then well down the hall before an exterior exit. Also once you are in for the night, there isn't much to do. The work out room is large and well-equipped, but the restaurant menu is abbreviated - more like a bar & grill, and I never saw more than two people in the small bar. The food is tasty: my colleague ordered the rib eye twice so he liked it. I enjoyed the burger a lot actually.
The resort is just a 10 minutes drive from the city center. It is beautiful with updated room amenities and very comfortable beds. High speed WIFI was available throughout the entire facility The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating but there is not much to do around the hotel after dark.
