Required $60 cash deposit even though I prepaid and they had my card number. At checkout I had to wait for for staff to inspect my room before I got my $60 back. Absurd!

I learned that just because I got a smoke-free room, it doesn't mean the place is smoke-free. Many smokers outside smoking, fixing a car, cig butts everywhere, dirty sidewalks, GROSS. The room smelled. No hairdryer. I had one, but both of the outlets near the sink did not work. No place to hang clothes, No towel racks. NO PLACE to even sit down -no chair(s). The bed was the only good thing. UGH!
$147 for a room worth less than $60.00. They required a cash deposit of $40.00 rather than putting a hold on my card, the way better hotels do. I didn't see any signs in the office, which smelled like a butt can, indicating the cash requirement. It felt as if the clerk was asking for beer money.
This hotel was so clean and the staff were wonderful! It was so inexpensive and I couldn't have asked for better! Already planning our summer stay!

Dear Visitor, Thank you for taking the time out to share your thoughts. We apologize for any inconvenience the Hotel policies may have caused but we do list them on the sites for you to review before you book. The deposit is merely for incidental possibilities. We have learned that many traveling guest prefer to have the cash handed right back in their hands on the day of their departure date rather then wait 7-14 business days for the held deposit to go back on their card. Dear Ron,I sincerely apologize about your recent stay with us. We are an economy hotel therefore we do not offer breakfast, but, in every room, there is a coffee pot and coffee provided. I will make sure with staff that they are doing a proper job. Being human mistakes sometimes are made, but we do our best to avoid them. Upon checking in, if there was an issue with the door, the Front Desk Clerk desk should have been notified and we would have gladly change rooms for you. As stated on our website, there is a security deposit required at check in. But, because of the world we live in everyone is not honest, so we inspect every room when the guest checks out, making sure there is no damages or there is nothing left behind. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience, and I hope you will be able to visit us again.
