Food too expensive and confusing to order and pay. Everything else was good

Great hotel. Would go their again. It definitely remined me of the 60's

Loved the retro theme Lots of old cars in immaculate condition. Wish I had one of them The only compliant is the prices of the food in the Bayliner Diner were a little steep. Especially when feeding 5 and it is $100 dollars for lunch and just average food Loved the pools The staff was very helpful and friendly Loved the shuttle to the parks I would definitely stay there again and again

Overall we had a great experience at this hotel. It has a fun, retro them that was really cool. Pro's: Great pool areas Bowling/Arcade was great. Starbucks in the lobby Lazy river Food was good and the prices were reasonable Clean rooms Cabanas were great - had TV & fridge. Nice to be able to take a break from the sun and to not have to go back to the room. Shuttle to Univesal Con's: Small Rooms Tubes for lazy river not provided, had to pay Cabanas were at the main pool, not at lazy river pool so had to go back and forth which was a pain. Our room was super far away from the lobby If we come back to Orlando, I would definitely stay here again.

I love this resort, I took my daughter and her friend both teenagers,, Shuttle took us to. Universal Studios and the City Walk , I enjoyed the pool side movies at night. Great resort for the family .

Stayed here twice and the hotel was still in great condition. Love the 50s decor and there's a ton to do. Will be back for a third visit in the future.

Very convenient to Universal Parks. Good value for price.

We liked our hotel. It was clean and convenient to the parks. The shuttle service was great, we never waited for a bus to take us from or to the hotel. The beds and pillows were fairly uncomfortable to me, but that's always personal preference. Overall a great place to stay.

Great place good food. Pricey on the food! Could lower a bit especially with a family of 4 eating 3 meals a day there. Staff wonderful, security awesome! Great stuff for kids!

Definitely a place for families (not your romantic getaway). Huge resort but easy to navigate. Really impressive central pool area. Your kids will have a blast. And staying here gets you into Universal (and Harry Potter world) a full hour before the crowds. A lot of cool retro touches (including retro toiletries). Rooms are acceptable but not luxurious. Overall, a good value and good choice for families visiting the theme parks.

My husband and I brought my Niece & Nephew to Cabana Bay Beach Resort for 7 nights and we had the best trip ever. Of Course Universal Studios & Universal Islands of Adventure were both amazing, but the resort hotel definitely completed our stay. The good options were great! Location was great! The 2 pools were great! And everything else in between... staff, cleanliness, etc. we honestly would stay here again and highly recommend this resort to all of our friends and family! Thank you Cabana Bay Beach!

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Universal Studios. The hotel is a free, short shuttle ride from the park or a short walk to the park (I don't recommend the walk, only because there is so much walking to do in the park itself). In the 3 days we took the shuttle I don't remember waiting more than a couple minutes. The property is huge, with multiple pools, a bowling alley, a small arcade room and there were outdoor evening viewings of kid friendly movies. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there is really no where for a nice sit down dinner. There is a cafeteria area serving the same breakfast, lunch, dinner every day. I suggest getting the refillable cups, it's a good value. Every staff member we met were friendly and helpful. I had a family emergency one day during the trip so we asked for a late check out and without batting an eye Jose gave it to us without any fuss. I recommend the Universal Cabana Bay to all and look forward to my next visit.

Mother/daughter trip brought us to Cabana Bay (both 30+ yrs old). We were pretty out of place, but the hotel was really great. If I had kids, I'd definitely bring them here. The coolest part of the hotel was how EVERYTHING was in character. My mother felt like it was a trip she would've taken when she was young, so she was very nostalgic. Don't expect tons of frills here, but it's got the basics and is very comfortable. Note: if you want to eat cheap(er), just order the side dishes in the diner! Overall, great bang for the buck and a fun experience, but is more designed for families than couples or adults.

Great room and most of the staff were helpful and friendly.

We loved this hotel. It was so bright and fun. The staff was fantastic, the rooms were immaculate and you just can't beat the bus service and early park entry.

Most impressed with the staff friendliness. We have 4 kids so the suite was a great option for us. Get the $18 beverage mug for the kids if you plan on staying more than a few days. Getting into the park 1-2 hours early helps. One thing they didn't tell us though is early admission is only for Islands of Adventure, at least while we were there, and it's only for the Harry Potter area. Kids loved the pool, lazy river and water slide. Only complaint is the $12 a day additional for parking. In general great stay, and as much as I enjoy trying different hotels I could see myself bringing the family there again. For what it's worth, every family member enjoyed Universal over Disney.

Had a 24 hour business trip to Orlando, as a former Disney cast member I've never stayed at Universal but figured it's time to give it a chance. You can't help but compare to Disney so bare with me. So very pleased with this property, it's certainly in much better shape than the All Stars. The design is super fun and layout was easy to navigate. The pools were filled with families, which you'd anticipate. Lazy river was a nice quite retreat (bring your own tube or pay $12 to buy one - they'll deflate it so you can take it home). You can also walk it for exercise. The rooms were clean and spacious. Bathroom was set up properly - toilet and shower were in separate rooms so guests can privately "multitask." Standard sheets, not the best but it's a budget hotel with massive turnover. It's clean that's what counts. If you are a soap snob, bring your own...they go retro with VO5 Shampoo and Zest Soap. NO lotion...you need lotion in Florida sun. My biggest gripe, they charged for overnight Parking. As a Disney Guest, you don't pay for hotel parking. The room rates should cover that.

Every staff member we encountered was totally helpful and pleasant. The room amenities are basic. The location is okay. It's a firm 15 min walk, at a brisk pace, into the park. The shuttle is great as is the ferry which can be caught at the hotel across the street.

Enjoyed the hotel and its proximity to Universal Parks.

We stayed here for 4 days during spring break .. hotel was very nice and clean piols and lazy river was lovely . Onsite restaurant was ok .. maybe they could have 2 restaurants. The bowling alley was a nice extra to have . I loved the idea that you could buy your tickets to the parks right in the lobby because the lines were so long at the park entrance for tickets
