Just returned from my family vacation and we had an amazing time. Don’t go by the other negative reviews. When you plan a trip to Miami, it’s not a cheap place. We stayed in the Sorrento tower and our room was clean and had everything we needed. The pools and grounds are very well kept. The staff at the beach were wonderful and treated my kids and I like friends. Yes the bill racks up with ordering at the beach and hotel but in the end it’s worth it and convenient. The beach and kids water slide were a big hit for us. The staff by the kids area were amazing. One of them starting playing ball with the kids and entertained everyone with a genuine personality. This resort created unforgettable memories.
Worst hotel experience EVER. The first morning the electronic lock to our door malfunctioned, stranding us in the hallway outside our room. The hotel kept sending up different employees with replacement keys, (none of which worked) even though the first employee they sent told us the problem was the lock, not the key. It took well over 30 minutes for what should have been a simple fix due to their lack of communication. The next day my wife’s new iPhone was stolen from her bag at the Family Pool in the couple of minutes she went to the bathroom. Within two hours Apple’s “FindMy” app located it at an address on the other side of town. Unless a hotel guest stole it and raced across town, it was almost certainly taken by an employee. Of course, the hotel would do nothing to investigate even though we had the location of the phone (and probably the thief’s address). We had to leave a message with the manager to try to speak to someone about the theft, and they never bothered to call us back. Oh, and if you want to see the beach, you have to pay an additional $400 per day to rent one of the tents/bungalows lined up at the edge of the water so they completely block the view of the ocean for everyone else relegated to the free lounge chairs behind them. Lastly, the only friendly employee we encountered was our waitress at the Sushi restaurant. Not one person apologized, expressed empathy, or took responsibility when told about any of the above issues. AVOID
WORST HOTEL Watch America Greed episode about this hotel and you will feel the greed when you stay there Below is our experience - We checked into FountainBlue hotel on December 24 ( cold day in Miami) with our 2 young children. Our stay was horrible. We checked our a few hours later. Upon checkout, managers validated our parking yet the next day our credit card was charged for the full stay and even the “validated” parking. -Below are the reasons for our unsatisfactory reviews: 1. Very cold lobby with air vents blowing more cold air. 2. Hotel guest were freezing in the lobby wearing winter coats. 3. We went to the stake house restaurant and asked to be seated in a warmer area but the hostess informed us that “all the air vents are blowing cold air and they can’t shut them off”. Temperature in the restaurant was in the 50’s. We ate dinner at this very expensive stake house restaurant wearing our winter coats and so did the outer guests 5. We went back to the room and tried to turn the temperature up because everyone was cold, including our son who already had a cold. A smell of burning fumes engulfed the room. We turned off the heat and left the hotel just a few hours after we checked in 6. We went to the car check out to get our parking validated. After waiting 15 minutes the manager “validate “ our parking and brought our car But the next day we got charged $50 for parking. Horrible!!! No hospitals No interest in guest satisfaction
The Fontainebleau Miami Beach is an amazing hotel. It is in fact a resort, that gives you the experience of being at a resort in the islands or Mexico but except in a major United States City. The experience and amenities are amazing from the room with the balcony and ocean view, as well as all of the plates and silverware provided in the room. To the beautiful private beach with the great service. The resort also has like 11 pools with the main pools providing a party like experience. In addition, there are plenty of restaurants, as well as the Liv nightclub. Plenty to do at this great location although it is somewhat secluded from the rest of Miami Beach, as well as Brickell and such. So this is the perfect resort like experience but might want to limit leaving this location since it is challenging to go elsewhere with taxis and Ubers. I was hoping it was walking distance to the main Ocean Drive area, which it is if you have like 30 minutes. Would stay here again in a heartbeat due to the amenities, beach, and service.
