Recent guest reviews

Here is a copy of the letter I sent to the hotel. They have yet to reply: As a recent guest at your facility, I had more than several experiences that I hope are not typical. To begin with, the first time I called I was hung up on.  The number was correct as I redialed and was connected.  But then I was asked first for my name (fine) followed by requests for both my email and phone number?  I just had one short, quick question to ask! 2. It was the roomrate I asked about and I was given it:  about $300 a night.  I was the one who had to ask if taxes and fees were included.  The answer? No. Real cost -- more like $400. 3. When we checked in, we didn't know it then but one of the room keys we were given did not work. 4. Misinformation by a beach employee that we could access the property at the north end of the boardwalk was incorrect -- and lead to much needless walking for us. 5. Tired from our walk I wanted a nap-- but my bedding was not clean!  After starting to put my head down on a pillow I realized it had a hair, a dust bunny and what looked like a cookie crumb.  So I tossed it aside and reached for a second but it too had smudge, dust so I picked a third to find what looked like dried nasal effluent.  That is when I picked up the phone and called housekeeping for another set of bedding.  Are second beds changed automatically or only if they look used??? 6.  Please charge us more -- but have coffee service on a credenza at the elevator of every floor from at least

They gave us the wrong room at the beginning and when we came back to the reception, they didn't apologize and didn't want to listen. We booked a room with an ocean view, but they gave us one with the view of the next building wall and one bed instead of two beds. When we returned to change, they were able to do us a "favor" putting us in a room with bay view, saying all rooms with ocean view were occupied. For sure, me and my friends won't recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is my second time staying at this hotel and I absolutely love it! The staff are so wonderful and very accommodating. The beach is right behind the hotel and the ocean view from my room was amazing!! I definitely recommend getting a balcony with ocean view!

Make a long story short , wife came back to the hotel without me once and they wouldn't let her in , she payed the deposit for room and her name was on the orbits registration for room and flight , they had no common sense , she had I'd with same last name etc. tips at pool , beach etc were with 18%tip , some tell you and most don't , I payed many double tips , I only found out because I overheard a lady telling a Cust next to me , scam , first bad review if ever given

The hotel was amazing! Very beautiful and very attentive staff. If you visit the beach I would recommend asking for Marlin who was always going above and beyond. Even getting this STL Gringo protected from the dangerous sun!

This is not a hotel, it's a resort and as such has a lot of fees associated with it. Valet parking is required. There is no where near by you will be able to park. This "service" cost you $50.00 per day and means you have to wait for someone to bring you your car whenever you want to go anywhere. I would highly recommend taking a taxi to the resort and walking as traffic is horrible and parking spaces are scarce. It is very easy to get a taxi at the resort. They line up in wait and are always available. The room itself does not have a coffee maker, microwave, or fridge. Although you can rent a mini-fridge from the front desk for an additional fee. A pot of coffee can be sent up to you for $12.00, plus a $4.50 delivery fee, and 20% gratuity. Gratuity is included everywhere, 18% is added to every check (20% for room service orders). I'm not certain what a "hotel fee" is. I feel like I paid the "hotel fee" when I paid for the room, but a $26.00 hotel fee will also be added to your bill each day. I should have paid more attention when I was asked for $600.00 in incidentals upon check in. The $50.00/per day for parking and $26.00/per day hotel fee will come from those incidentals.

Someone got shot there & I couldn't get into the hotel for 3 hours & they couldn't comp me for the inconvenience on there property they told me it was a police issue & not on them even though it was on there property this was 5/7/2017 - 5/8/2017

Super crowded, lines everywhere, beach was packed with chairs, pools was packed with chairs, if you wanted to sit comfortably, needed to pay $350 upgrade for beach bed. Nickel and dimed you for everything

We wanted a family vacation and chose Fontainebleau. Overall here are some key highlights. Pros: - Room had a great view of the Ocean - Hotel has great beach access - Fantastic restaurants (Hakasan, Scarpitta) Cons: - Overcrowded pool - Pool chairs to guests ratio is very low, as it seems like they force you to spend $500 - $1000 for pool sofas and Cabanas - Staff/Security comes at you if you are sitting on a pool sofa after 4:30pm when there is no chance to rent it out. It seems like United, they are hell bent on you not sitting even if you are there just to make sure your kids are ok.

Expensive but I guess you pay for confort!! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Loved the pools and beach. The only downside was the seating area by the pool; overcrowed, not enough lounge chairs.

Valet is the worst waited over an hour to get my car last night and called for my car this morning for check out was told the car would be ready in 10 minutes and waited over an hour rediculous

Excellent restaurants, I also enjoyed the boardwalk along the beach. This has been one of my better vacations

unfriendly environment, Room did not have condiments, Shower looked very dated. IMAC in the room is basically useless. Slow internet and even you tube doesn't work. What is the point of having it then if I cannot atleast browse. So disappointing. Also fridge started making loud sound in middle of night and service staff took for ever to come I am a platinum customer and when I asked for room upgrade since it is a VIP hotel the staff acted as if they are giving me a charity.I should have picked Lowes hotel instead

This is my all time favorite hotel. I highly recommend to all.

Excellent hotel - top notch service and classic old school Miami styling.

I booked a vacation for 5 days 4 nights (double bed with balcony). They put us in a one bedroom with a balcony, The bathroom was filthy like someone just left. The bed wasn't made up. We had to call down stairs twice just to get someone to clean the room. Then it took 3 days of us asking and begging for the rollaway bed. Even though they took 2 days to give us one while telling us it will be right up they still charged me for the first 2 days like I had one. Then the next morning they called and said the owner is on their way in so we have to be transferred. We were then transferred to a smaller room with one bed again. Same issues for a day no rollaway bed. Then they took over 2 hours to bring our bag. To make matter worst they said we have to leave the room for the owners and wait on a text message until the room is ready which wasn't until mid-day.

Fabulous scarpetta was a disappointment but all other restaurants were nice

Great everything was five star and the luxury was amazing in this hotel

I will come back!We had amazing time the stuff in hotel is excellent! Love it!

The Fontainebleau Hotel is hands down the best hotel I've ever been to. For starters, the building itself is gorgeous. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The hotel is right on the beach and has an amazing pool area. The Fontainebleau is also home to LIV Nightclub, bars, a spa, retail stores, restaurants, etc., which make the stay even better.
