The property itself is AMAZING! Beautiful setting, surroundings and accomodations. HOWEVER, We tried to check in EXACTLY at 3:00 (the designated time) and were not given our room until nearly 2 1/2 hours later. That was an unacceptable wait time to get settled and enjoy our stay. We absolutely should have been comped w/ food & drink service due to the extended check in time

First impression wasn’t pleasant. I walked up to the counter to check in and was greeted by a female who stated, hi how are you? My response was, good and you? And the employee stated “crappy. If you’re trying to check in our system is down and we don’t know how long.” Not the first response you want checking into a $200/night hotel. However, the room was decent and check out was fast.

so dirty and old

Room was quiet, nice view. I do not usually review hotels however..... My key didn't work and staff was in no hurry to replace the battery pack on the door. The "free airport shuttle" does not even operate all days of the week so I had to Uber and that felt like a bait and switch. There was some trash scattered in the room, and no plug for the bathtub to bathe my daughter. When I went to call about this, the phone did not work. The front desk did not send maintenance to fix this when I went to the desk. The 1 pool that was open was pretty gross, it looked like no one had cleaned up bottles or towels all day. The WTR restaurant was beyond slow. Food was ok but overpriced. And then a $20 resort fee to top it all off. Thankful we only stayed one night. The maintenance gentleman sporting dreadlocks was the best employee I encountered. He looked we straight in the eye and said "I am going to fix this for you right now". The Godfrey needs more employees like this.

Love this place but our bathroom sink barely had pressure or hot water, heat didnt work at all and there was no microwave

Very conveinient to the places i need to go

The property is in a great location close enough to Clearwater and St Pete but without the choas of staying in Clearwater. The rooms were clean but not spotless. Overall for the price to be on the water it was a great deal!

The hotel looks better online. Immediately when I arrived I knew I made a bad choice. The hotel looks dingy in my opinion. I changed rooms, so I speaking on behalf of two rooms. The bathroom tiling was nasty, and the walls are super thin. This is a party hotel, so be prepared for a lot of noise. The staff was ok. No one explained the resort fee until afterwards which isn’t necessary because they don’t offer much.

The bathroom sink flooded

Front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating

This hotel was okay for what it was. The room was kinda dirty in areas (floor, curtains, bed comforter). Other than that it was fine! I will say the WTR Pool and Cabanas was sooo nice and added a fun day to our trip. Won’t come back to this hotel though.

If you are looking for convenience from the Tampa airport and a place to leave your belongings while you visit the beach, this is probably fine. The pictures online way oversell the reality. I have worked in the hospitality industry for the better part of 30 years, and in Forbes 5 star properties. This is a 2 star property at best. The tile is moldy and the grout is stained. The furniture is tired and scratched, dented and in poor repair. There are very limited tv channels. No channel guide. No real comforter to speak of. No extra blankets. The AC sounded like a freight train. All of this is actually no problem if you are charging $89 or $99/ night. Perfectly acceptable. But to charge $167/night and have a shower head so stained that no one would use it is not ok—- no matter how close to the beach you are. No return visit here.

I was shocked at how terrible this property looked. I checked into a water view room and it was so gross. The furniture was in awful condition, the floor was dirty, there was black mold in the bathroom, chipped paint everywhere, and cracked light switch plates. I asked for a different room and it wasn't much better. This one had broken curtains, nasty furniture, and just overall felt really dirty. I was hoping the outside would be better to enjoy our vacation but I was sadly mistaken. The outdoor furniture was not well kept. Cushions were torn and dirty. Trash was everywhere and the grass was dead. Needless to say we didn't enjoy our time here. Pick somewhere nicer and don't waste your money. So sad I wasted my money staying here. It needs a major remodel, maintenance attention, and serious cleaning.
