Staff was friendly and diligent. First room had a plumbing issue (only scalding water in the shower) and the Engineering guy showed up within 10 minutes and worked on it for another 15-20 before deciding he couldn't be sure it would stay fixed, so he had the front desk move us to another identical suite. Friendly bartender in Trolley's. Only available breakfast is the "free" one, so had to go across the street when I missed that one day. Comfy beds, very good TV's in sitting room and bedroom, good a/c, nice views. Easy walk to waterfront, Riverwalk, Convention Center, aquarium, Amalie Arena, etc. Don't like that the only parking is valet ($24/day) but that may be a matter of taste. Only real issue was the Internet - it was hit-and-miss both via Wifi and wired. Would send browser to a 3rd party signup URL but the page never opened. The next day it seemed to work fine, at least when I again attempted to use it. The Business Center printer was on the fritz. They are doing some remodeling (new carpet, which appears to be a nice upgrade) so when that's done it will have a fresher look. Elevators can get crowded but there are 4 of them.

The lodging experience was excellent. The staff could not have been any better. I had an air conditioner problem and called the front desk and someone was there within six minutes.

I decided to spend a little extra to stay downtown. The location was great but the staff was very unfriendly. Specifically the front desk and valet. Next time I will stay at the Marriott next door.

Awesome stay and experience! We were in town for a concert at the Amalie Center and it was just a short walk away. I would definitely stay again.

First time at an Embassy Hotel, and it was a great stay.. Breakfast Buffet was outstanding, and cocktail hours did not disappoint. Trolley to YBor city and other attractions is right in front of hotel so we didn't have to drive anywhere.. Cant wait for the next stay...

Very good hotel... pool was being repaired.. breakfast is one of the best I've had in Hotels in the USA.. and I travel plenty

Great staff. The hot breakfast buffet is excellent! However, the room thermostat didn't work. The shower drain was super slow to drain and the coffee maker worked occasionally. The doors and base boards needed a thorough cleaning. Other than that I would definitely stay there again.

I paid way too much for this room and had multiple complaints. My main was that our keys didn't work the ENTIRE weekend until we were checking out. They told us they didn't have an engineer on staff in the middle of the night to fix it which is ridiculous because it was Gasparilla and at the end of the day what I paid for this room alone would have paid a weekend's salary for having an engineer overnight surely our keys not working wasn't the only thing that went wrong in the middle of the night at this hotel? Why wouldn't you just be prepared to assist your guests in any problems? So EVERY TIME ALL WEEKEND we wanted to leave our room we had to have someone assist us to get back into the room and they left us waiting at least 20 minutes at most an hour. Then the hot water wasn't working, the ice machine didn't work, the halls were covered in trash I had to wait almost an hour just to get my car out of Valet when I called ahead for it...do you just have no staff whatsoever? They had ONE front desk clerk during probably one of the busiest weekends of the year for them. Ridiculous. All in all they said they'd credit me for my stay and it's been weeks I have yet to see a credit on my account and I've called 6 times to talk to billing...no surprise I can't get ahold of anyone and no one will call me back. I wish I could have all of my money back from this stay too bad you can't get time back because I missed a ton of the events just waiting to get into my room...

Awesome Golf Trip with friends. Very clean rooms. Great Breakfast, and happy hour drinks was nice also. Thanks Leonard

Overall, the hotel itself wasn't terrible. There were greasy hair/head stains on the headboard of our bed which I thought was kind of gross. Also, during the managers reception, trash was left everywhere and there was nobody going around to pick it up which has usually been the norm at other Embassy Suites I've stayed at. I hate the mandatory $24 valet. Also, for a place that is trying to be so upscale, there were a lot of families with children staying there and I almost had my breakfast tray knocked out of my hands a few times while trying to find a table to eat at because of a bunch of unruly children running around the place.

The hotel is conviently across the street from the arena which made it easy to enjoy the concert. I felt safe walking around the hotel and everyone was very friendly. My room was on a lower level so it was a little noisy at times. Overall, I had a very relaxing and peaceful stay!

Very friendly service, staff was great from the moment we set foot on the premises. Location was great, room was clean and very comfortable.

I mistakenly booked a king suite instead of 2 doubles. I called the front desk who said they would move to a room with 2 doubles. Got into the new room and it was a king room again. Had to go to the game and didn't have time to move rooms again. I let the front desk know, who offered to move me at 11 pm. We did not move rooms and had to make it work.

Beautiful Hotel, great location, free evening reception with drinks and snacks. Best hotel breakfast EVER!

The room was a beautiful suite w/ an incredible view! We would definitely stay here again.

This is where our cruise began and end, here at the Embassy Suites Tampa - Downtown Convention Center. I couldn't have imagined a better place to began an unknown adventure and to come back and relax after such a trip. We enjoyed the food, the breakfast was awesome as always. My son and I love the hotel and elevators... what a view. Can't wait to return and stay again.

Stayed here with a buddy so we could attend the hockey game at the Arena next door. Staying at the hotel allows us to avoid the traffic around game time, puts us in walking distance of the arena, and allows us to safely enjoy a few drinks at the game, without having to drive home.

Front desk was very nice. We were given a room on the 15th floor and our daughter, who is afraid of heights, had a panic attack in the elevator (glass elevator with a great view). We immediately went back down and they gave us a room on the 4th floor. The walkway to the convention center is very convenient too. We also had a great breakfast that was included in our price.

I really liked the location of the hotel. The Riverwalk is right across the street, which connects you to just about everything Downtown within walking distance. It's beautiful and definitely worth checking out. Also, there are many restaraunts that have great food close by. The complimentary breakfast and evening reception were very good. The rooms are spacious and most come with a beautiful view. I traveled with 2 kids 2 and 9, and didnt want to have to be to another hotel, plis I had already paid for our first night upon arrival, so decided to stay instead of having to het a ride across town. If it wasn't such a pain to move all of back to the Hilton just up the street, I would've done so. I will probably never stay here again the biggest reasons being the staff is pretty much non-existant, and the rooms are dirty either from housekeeping not cleabing properly, or the severe mold problem in the rooms. When arriving at the hotel we had a ton of stuff bags, stroller, carseat, etc. The front desk was way out of the way, and I had to ask for a cart to put our stuff on, and still wasnt offered any help upon asking for a cart. I was only told its check-out time, so they're probably all being used. So I carried everything in little by little. Being a Hilton Hotel, I expected much better service. Upon entering the room which took 2 hrs of waiting because there were only 2 of the rooms available, there was a huge black mold spot on the ceiling and water damage on the ceiling in the bathroom. There were small holes in the blackout curtains, and the room had a funky smell. We had 1 king bed and 1 sofa bed. The sofa bed matress was so thin my daughter could feel the bars through it. I requested a room with 2 queen beds because it was so uncomfortable. They did move us right away, but again didn't offer us any help moving to the room which was on the floor below our current room. We ended up having to move from that room because the air wasn't worming correctly and the smell of mold in the bathroom was so overpowering I had to keep the door shut and hold my breath when using the bathroom. The maintenance guy talked to me like I didn't know what I was talking about when I asked him if he could smell the strong odor and even pointed out the big spot on the ceiling. I even took pictures. We had to move yet again. The last room was much better, still had water damage on the ceiling in the bathroom, but didn't smell like the other two rooms. The ony thing about this room was when I wiped the fridge down with a wipe becaise it was sticky, it was so nasty and the wipe had brown stuff all over it. It also took me 3 hours to get clean towels from housekeeping. I went to another floor and another lady with housekeeping gave me 1 clean towel, and said the lady on our floor would come clean our right away. Wjen I finally tracked her down, sje couldnt speak or understand English, and had no idea what I was saying. I will stick with the Hilton downtown from now on. Theu go above and beyond to please you. The ammenties are clean, so are the rooms, and they are about the same price. Not as big as the suites at Embassy, but so much better. I wish I could say much better things gor this hotel, but the staff needs to care about the guests and make sure tey are doing their part to make this hotel a great place to stay.

Stayed one night in order to not drive home following a concert. Perfect location to the arena. Excellent free breakfast in the morning. Room could use some refreshing.
