Sailport Waterfront Suites

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Our 2 bedroom suite was really nice. comfortable with full kitchen. The balcony was great with a beautiful view of sunsets. The heated pool with café and bar was nice, right on the water. No beach but chairs and swing overlooking water. Shuttle bus to nearby restaurants and places

Good location with an awesome view of the bay; away from traffic and noisy streets Comfortable room with kitchenette. Swimming pool and bar with a nice location and view.Eating places need to take a shuttle or use your car. Hotel staff courteous.

I was in shock when I first saw Sailport. The facility looked old and no better than Motel 6, although the cost was 40% - 60% higher. The key card did not work half of the time due to how weak the magnetic strip was. Out of my three-day stay at Sailport, I had to run to its lobby three times to revive my room key. Due to the age of the facility, the ceiling height was rather low, although it does not show in their online images. The interior décor looked aged and dirty, with clear marks here and there throughout the place. My room had tile floor and it felt as if the floor was never cleaned, turning my son's white socks into gray in no time. I got a suite room for my family which came with a small kitchen and hence the pots and pans available for use. The coffee maker was too gross and so I decided to just 'cook' some hot water using one of the available pans. To my surprise, when I rinsed a supposedly clean pan before the actual cooking, without adding any dish soup, a lot of bubbles came out. OMG. The bathroom was small with a very weak shower. There were also no decent food choices. We had to stay at Sailport due to our attending a close-by (like 5 min walk) wedding event and how the wedding party designated Sailport as the preferred accommodation. But, I would NOT recommend this place.

fantastic location with great views and food. House keeping just totally skipped me on one or 2 days. The girls at the bar/grill don't know anything about the area or the property, not even where a vending machine might be. Room was pretty decent but the bedroom window is on the inside hallway where people are coming in drunk or loud all night. The iron and ironing board were almost useless so don't bank on it if you will need to iron clothes.

Florida classic hotel on the water with great views of the bay and plenty of parking close by. Rooms are clean and cool, but unfussy. Really liked that all rooms seem to have a private balcony. The staff is outstanding; friendly and helpful. Also, check-in and out was a breeze.

Good place to stay. Everything was clean and staff was friendly.

The hotel was under remodeling during our stay. The pool was very small for so many units. The bar area was very boring. The room wa very clean and comfortable and the view was amazing!! The staff were awesome as well!! Overall stay was an 8

The property was lovely. Beautiful Bay views! The room was clean and upgraded, but the bed was uncomfortable. The sheets were rough and the mattress was weirdly firm and bouncy. The check in staff was adequately friendly. We especially enjoyed the pool bar/grill. Good food and great staff.

Love the view from my balcony / room .. Felt safe there Staff were friendly

No usable beach to swim, pool is nice. No night life.

Might be worth $80 a night.....not the $300 they charged ..... at best this is a 2.5 * hotel.... and only gets a higher rating because of the proximity to the water.... and actually I don't believe it's a hotel, people own these units and rent them out through a third party company..... the owners must be the ones who are pushing the ratings to rent the units....

Great bay view but you can hear every bump, footstep and door close for 50 ft even with the TV on. Good hotel for kids and heavy sleepers.

nice area and many things to do nice view and fireworks

Only problem was noise all night due to champion football game. The kids were very disrespectful to others dealing with spine surgery. I called front desk at 10:45 pm to complain. Noise banging screaming did not stop until 2 am

This hotel was great, near to fun, local bars and only a half hour drive to clearwater. Only dissapointment was no beach access to swim or sit on the beach. Great service, nice sunsets views and warm pool.

I just loved everything , the room the beach , friendly people , the people driving the shuttle bus , the view to the ocean , I was able to cook my on food on the stove in the hotel. Made me feel like home , my vacation hotel , will stay again

We read the reviews and viewed the pictures very carefully as we wanted to ensure a great time in Tampa. Wow were we misled. Upon opening the door to our room it reeked of stale mildew odor, the carpet was filthy including toenail clippings (GROSS), and the bathroom had hair all over the place (GROSS). We had originally booked 4 nights but aborted asap and were then given the run around by the staff who were less than willing to give us a refund. Worst experience we've ever had at a hotel by far. Thankfully we went across the road to the Westin and had a great time to salvage the trip.

Wonderful experience. Romantic. You can fish of the pier. Beach area.

The hotel/condos are in need of updating. The pull out couch bed is not comfortable at all. However the location on the Bay is amazing. The full kitchen is another added bonus. Also the use of fishing equipment is really cool. The staff was very helpful and kind. We would stay there again if we were in the area.

Rested.................! A lot...........................................!

We are so sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. Yes, our property has been staple in the Rocky Point area for many years, but we have done upgrades and maintain our units, just as any other hotel would over the years. The building has been painted within the past 2 years along with the the parking lot being repaved as well. We have also renovated and replaced all furniture within the few years and our tile floors and carpets and cleaned with professional equipment on a rotational basis on top of our normal departure cleans. I will address your concerns with out our housekeeping department as well. As for the pots, all dishware is washed with the dishwasher between guests, so I am not sure how there could have been "bubbles" as this is not done by hand. We also are located on an island with about 4-5 restaurants on it, but no fast food chains if that may be what you are referring too.

Thank you for your review. We are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay with us. Our housekeeping services are provided every third day of our guest's stay, therefore you would not have received daily service. I will address your concerns with Pearly's (the poolside bar and grill). We do not have vending machines on property, but we do have a small store located in our lobby area which you would have seen at check in. We do appreciate your feedback and I will also pass the information about the irons on to our housekeeping department as well. We do hope that we can welcome you back as a repeat guest in the future.

Thank you for your 4 star review. We appreciate your feedback and we are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay. We would love to be able to offer a large pool, but being directly on the bay there are several restrictions for buildings and pools etc. which limit our "building" abilities to extend. We do hope that we can welcome you back in the future as a repeat guest.

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. As you mentioned, no you cannot access the water from the property (which we do not advertise), Ben T. Davis Beach is located a short 15 minute walk or 5 minutes by car. Depending on when you are staying here on the island, the weekend there will be more nightlight at the neighboring restaurant/bars on the island than you would find during the week.
