This place was great! The service was awesome and it was CLEAN! It was in a great location and I was very comfortable. The only drawback is that the half shower wall would allow the floor to get wet when I showered. Nothing extra towels didn't fix.
Cannot comment on the rooms as met a colleague here for business. Ate breakfast which was ok, not great. The hotel lobby area and bar/restaurant is a bit soulless + the air on is way too cold to be comfortable. On the upside, the reception team were friendly and there are some great business spaces off the lobby.
Recently stayed here for a night before an early flight out and was impressed with the property overall. Very clean and brand new, lobby is large and the bar has lots of seating for working/drinking. Fitness center is quite large, and the pool looked nice, although I didn't use it. The room itself was very clean, with everything you need. Bed was comfy and there was a pull out sofa couch. The hotel is located near a handful of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. There is also a complimentary hotel airport shuttle that leaves every 30 minutes. I would give 5 stars on this property, however, my toilet during my stay was making some noise and despite talking to the front desk associate and them letting me know they would look at it, it was never fixed. Still got a solid night of sleep and would likely return if back in Tampa.
AC Marriott his the right note on the mid size hotel. First, let’s start with location. We were in town for a family event which required balancing events in different parts of the Tampa Bay Area with people coming in from different areas of the country. This hotel is very close to the airport, very close to the interstate system, and just across from the nicest mall in the area. There are a lot of upscale chain restaurants in the area - Coopers Hawk, Del Frisco’s etc, and many food choices in the mall - Cheesecake Factory, Brios, food court. So it’s a great place to call home base when balancing different schedules. The hotel itself is a nice, clean, chic gray. Contemporary styling makes for a clean spacious look. There is a full service bar. The breakfast is good and creative. The morning attendant was particularly friendly without being overbearing. There is a convenience nook that is surprisingly well stocked for the size. The kids loved the pool - and it was convenient to let them swim in the down time between events while parents rotated running to the mall. (The curtesy van drops off and picks up at the Neimans. ) The pool, however was also adult friendly -it seemed to be well attended throughout the weekend. All staff was friendly and willing to work with us on check out times and trying to accommodate special requests. The rooms were comfortable and well sized. There is a mini fridge and in room coffee maker. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay - and our son requested to come back more often. He very much enjoyed the stay! Well done, AC Marriott.
This hotel is a great find! We stayed here just one night before a cruise out of Tampa, and I wish it could have been longer. It's not far from the airport and is clean, modern and kind of hip [we are NOT hip LOL]. Our flight was late and we arrived at midnight or so but the reception desk was staffed with a very friendly guy who welcomed us and got us checked in very quickly. Room was good-sized, clean and had a big bathroom. Breakfast buffet was delicious. SOOO much nicer than the usual waffles, cold cereal spread at some places: it had quiche, mango parfait, etc. Really first-rate. Would stay here again.
My husband and 2 kids (ages 9 and 11) stayed here for a night after arriving on a late flight to Tampa. Easy check in, very simple and clean room with everything that we needed. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise with good food and great coffee choices. The kids even swam in the pool and gave it a 5 star rating. We will stay here again the next time our travels bring us to Tampa.
This was the closest and cheapest Marriott I could find to the Amalie Arena for the Women’s Final Four. It was between this and a Fairfield Inn, I am so glad I picked AC Hotel by Marriott! This place was AWESOME! The place is modern, upscale, and the staff is outstanding. While it is off the beaten path, it is within walking distance to some places to eat. We decided to Lyft downtown rather than fight the traffic and worry about parking, best decision it was between $10 - $13 depending on time of day. Every single staff member was wonderful and very friendly. Taylor was especially helpful during checkin and again on Saturday morning during breakfast. At checkin they explain the hours of breakfast, but he failed to mention that it is a buffet that is $15. I was surprised at how awesome the food was compared to any Marriott I have ever stayed at (I had thought for free), imagine my surprise when I received a $30 bill for the 2 of us. I called Taylor over, explained to him my surprise, and no where does it spell out that there is a cost for the buffet, nor during his “tour” at checkin did he say there was a cost. I didn’t mind paying because it is worth it, but he took care of it, and apologized for the miscommunication.
We stayed here prior to a cruise. It’s a lovely hotel. It’s stylish and contemporary. The rooms are comfortable with one of the best mattresses, I’ve ever slept on. The lobby bar is nice and we got good service and friendly conversation from Tari. The bathrooms off the lobby were gorgeous. (I know, strange thing to comment on, but if you are considering hosting an event here, your attendees will be impressed!) We ordered some food at the bar and it was decent. We were tired from a long drive down there and didn’t feel like walking to a nearby restaurant. However, there are several options within walking distance if you are so inclined. All in all, a beautiful hotel, good service and comfortable rooms. I would definitely stay there again. One suggestion for the hotel...,if you offered a cruise port shuttle, people would use it (even if it was for a fee.)
We stayed here the night before we left for a week in Arizona. We had a 5am flight so we decided to stay here for the convenience. It was super nice. Staff was really nice. Room was really clean and very comfortable. Great beds as well!! I got a package deal that included parking for the week for my car. Worked our perfect!!
Although I did not get a chance to stay, I must say that Rod took care of a cancellation that I was unable to do via the website or the main reservation number. I called the hotel direct and Rod was extremely helpful with my dilemma and accommodated me without hesitation. He is a true asset to Marriott.
