Stayed for four days for a religious convention. Was greeted at check-in in a very kind, professional manner. Every detail from Hilton Honors status to parking my car was handled quickly and courteously. The room had ironing board and iron which worked well and I used daily. Breakfast is excellent and is served quickly-very competent staff! The elevators are fast, the building is on the historical registry, climate control in the room is a breeze. A very enjoyable visit.

Loved it! Location, room, and experience are great.

Great location, great staff, very clean and comfortable rooms. It struck me that the staff was the most attentive of any staff that I have ever experienced. I would rate the staff as an A+.

I booked this hotel for my elderly parents. As it is located downtown there is no on site parking. Valet parking is mandatory and located several blocks away. When my mother accidentally left something in the car upon arrival a member of the hotel staff cheerfully retrieved it from their car and delivered it to their room quickly.

anytime we can stay in an old refurbished hotel we do, this was a wonderful stay. Loved the update but still older look.

Room was nice and clean. Central location and nice little coffee shop adjacent to the hotel.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED WHEN CALLING THE DESK FOR ICE AND OR DRINK AVAILABILITY AND BEING ADVISED THERE WAS NONE. I WAS ADVISED THEIR RESTAURANT WAS UNDER RENOVATIONS. I AGAIN ASKED ABOUT WATER/POP AND ICE AND WAS TOLD NONE WAS AVAILABLE. IT WAS LATE AT NIGHT AND I WAS NOT WANTING TO GO OUT. UPON CHECKING OUT I WAS ADVISED THERE ARE ICE AND WATER MACHINES ON ODD NUMBERED FLOORS. I HAD BEEN ON THE 10TH FLOOR, BUT OF COURSE WAS NOT GIVEN THIS INFORMATION WHEN I ASKED THE NIGHT BEFORE. ALSO, IT TOOK A VERY LONG TIME FOR THE SHOWER WATER TO HEAT UP AND THE WATER IN THE SINK TOOK TOO LONG TO CONTINUE WAITING.

Hotel Phillips hassock much potential. The price for one night was $259 and I have to say I would have rather stayed in a motel 6 for that price compared to what was offered. The hotel was under renovation while we were there and I mean they were drilling and pounding and grinding from 4am-1am! The room lacks so much its astounding. Smallest room I have ever stayed in for that price. And the amenities do not make up for it. Not even a nice robe to wear. No room service. Weird smells throughout the entire hotel. Tiny awkward shower. Bare basic toiletries. Absolutely no style at all. The only positive thing about the hotel was the staff they were very polite and helpful but everything is a major pass I would not recommend this hotel for the price. All they really have going for them is the location which I think is why the price was so high. I was really hopeful for this historic hotel bit it came up short. We stayed at the ambassador for the same price the year prior and it was so much better.

Room was so small are bathroom was in a closet. views from hotel was ok. For 200 a night this place was a waste. I believe there is other places I could stay

We arrived at the hotel, there was construction everywhere (I understand that happens) it was loud, there were people working outside our window all night. it would have been nice to know this before we booked it. We walk into our very very tiny room and it STUNK smelled like a skunk. The air conditioner only worked some of the time. Overall I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I'll stay at the ambassador next time for a little more but quality hotel.

It was dark and dingy. The room was fairly dirty, bathtub was unsupported and felt like it was going to cave in, phone didn't work to call the front desk, bathroom faucet barely let out any water, bed was missing sheets.

When I arrived to the hotel the staff told me their computer system was down and could not check me in. Instead of helping me or refunding me they told me "We have done everything we can" and suggested that I go to another hotel. And asked to speak with general manager and was told by the staff that he is unwilling to speak with customers. I was forced to go to a Marriott hotel down the street and pay for another hotel room

Hotel under construction. Lights in bedroom not working or plugged in. Smoke alarm taped off, maybe to prevent construction dust from setting it off?? Woke up in the middle of night smelling cigarette smoke. In the morning had to wait 10 minutes to get an elevator---the only one running was being used by the construction workers. Does have lots of art deco features, so hopefully bugs will be worked out soon.

We checked in to Hotel Phillips exhausted form a long day at Oceans of Fun. It was clean and had a nice character as one would expect from a hotel downtown. We were very excited to crawl into bed, watch a little TV and get a good nights sleep. All was well until 8 am the next morning when we awoke to the banging of hammers and the drone of an air compressor that sounded like it was directly above us. I grew quite irritated quickly as it only got louder. We checked out immediately. The desk apologized and let us know that they were under construction and comped our $24 valet fee. I understand that construction needs to happen but I think that they could've planned it out better knowing that some guests may want to rest past 8 am.

Overall my stay was good but only one of the elevators was working which made for a long wait.

Liked this hotel, staff very friendly. Room was clean, but didn't like the decor. I was in the artist in residence room. Although the regular rooms looked nice, this one was painted in bright colors (kind of had an '80's vibe). Although some might like it, not my taste. Didn't go with the carpet or furnishings. Front desk offered to move me when I asked about the crazy decor, but it wasn't a huge deal, and I had already unpacked. Can't say enough about the friendly staff, especially Brooklyn. She was so efficient and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Love the charm of the hotel. Very clean and close to the Power & Light District. Staff was excellent. Room was quite chilly when I entered.

Cool bar attached to hotel, good live jazz. Close walk to P and L. Great location.

I understand the hotel is old and wasn't expecting a perfection. But they could update some items in rooms such as wallpaper and mattress. The bed was the most uncomfortable mattress I have been on in a hotel ever. And it was suppose to be a queen size and it was definitely a double. The most enjoyable thing about the hotel was the location being able to walk to power and light district was awesome. So I understand the high price you pay is for location but still asking for alittle luxury in mattress and bedding isn't to much to ask for!

Room was small, staff was awesome, for the money it was not worth it
