I enjoyed staying at the Maverick. The staff was friendly. The Garden restaurant was good. I also enjoyed the casino. It had a good variety of slot machines. I will stay here again.
We booked a king room but instead had to get two queens. And the fire alarm held going off our first night and second day. It was exhausting after a 9 hour drive. Also the temperature controls weren't working properly so whatever I changed the thermostat settings to, the heat just kept blowing. If we closed the balcony door, it would climb up past 75 degrees. Thankfully it was snowy outside so we could open the balcony door to cool it off. It just made it so our dog l was prone to bark at sounds from outside. The room was clean and spacious as always and the wifi was strong we were both able to work just fine.
The hotel was surprisingly large & convenient. The room very large & spacious. Definitely a place I would stay again. Access to other dining areas excellent.

Stayed here instead of a newer hotel because of casino- but table games all closed! Room carpet filthy, trash and debris all over back parking lot- hotel just changed from a red lion to “Maverick “ casino but no Red lion signage outside- confusing to find

Nice hotel that has an excellent steakhouse. Location is excellent for I 80 access .
Booked my room by phone. Realized i booked it a day earlier than the day i would show up. Called orbitz to try to change it. They said id have to call red lion hotel. When i did they refused to cancel reservation or move it to next day for me. Person on phone was rude and didnt care.
I booked the 2 rooms for 3 nights stay. On the last day I asked the front desk for our room to be done so that on our travel day we would have fresh linen and towels. They failed to do it. I was very specific about the request. I paid over $600 for the 3 night stay. I was conscientious of the coronavirus situation and also of the environment and that's why I only asked for our last night for house keeping service. Also, as far as toilet paper to begin with there was one less than half a roll of it and by the second day we had run out but since I asked for our room to be made up I didn't see the need to ask for more since I assume that they would bring us some at the time of doing our room. we ended up using kleenex instead of toilet paper. I was completely disappointed with Red Lyon's Hotel Service and believe that I over paid for the service I received.
The location was great. The receptionist upon arrival was very friendly and helpful. Beyond that, our room smelled bad, the room was old and outdated. There was a spot on the rug that was wet when we arrived. I would not stay there again.
