The host was very friendly and accommodating. However, the room didn't feel real clean, and there wasn't any kind of a desk to sit & work at. Not much else to choose from in the area, though, so it met my needs.
Nice location
Room was clean and staff was very helpful.
This was our third visit this year and it was great. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff efficient and friendly, and now there are dining options in Austin. I can't wait for the spring, so we can come back and explore the area more.
The room was very clean except around refrigerator door. They have done a great job making the rroms loo new if though the buildings look worn and dated.
The room itself, while small, was clean, with a good bed and the usual bathroom amenities. It was convenient to get in and out of, and had some interesting decor in the complex. However, the owner was out of town, I was told. When he left, there was no one manning the office. The cleaning lady pointed out that the keys for the night's customers were in a mail box outside the office. That was okay, but the owner also turned off the internet connection. Cell phone service was spotty, so there was almost no way to communicate with the outside world. To add insult to injury, the owner apparently owns the only open restaurant in town, and with him gone, I was told by someone inside it that it wasn't open. So, if you do plan to stay there, be sure to ask if the owner will be on site. If not, stop at a store before getting on the road from your origin and buy some food. There is a convenience store in town, but their prices are outrageous. I don't want to give a bad impression of the facility - it was clean and comfortable. Just very isolated and with limited services in town.
very clean room. Nice bed and bedding. Very small room.
The room was small, but everything about it was perfect. I really appreciated that all of the plumbing worked properly and the lighting was good. I would definitely stay here again.
Check in was interesting. There are no on site staff. We had to find "Grandmas" cafe ti get keys and check in.
Small room but nice bed and bathroom was good
Diamond in the rough!! Looks bad on the outside but cool, quiet, clean with great hot water and decent TV channels. No coffee pot in the room. Only food in town is a food truck (fresh angus beef burgers) or the food mart. Can get good coffee at the food mart just 1 block away.
Listing was very deceiving. Drove up to a huddle of trailers that weren’t well maintained...damaged doors...someone’a clothes strewn about on a table. We didn’t stay and kept on driving. Orbitz shouldn’t have this motel as a listing.
As other reviewers have stated the dining options in Austin are minimal at the moment. There are efforts to get some restaurants opened again this year. We were prepared and there was a BBQ and outdoor kitchen area at the motel. Some other folks came in and had nothing with them. They ended up buying soup and frozen food at the gas station. The Owners of the Motel take a lot of pride in making it comfortable and it shows. The mattress, pillows, linens, and towels were way above the quality you would expect in a roadside motel. We stayed 3 nights and were very comfortable. I already booked another visit in the fall.
Austin is a very small town. There are only 200 residents. The motel is small as are the rooms. The owner has renovated adding new beds, bedding and bathroom fixtures. The only staff is the owner and her husband. They are extremely helpful and friendly. At the time we stayed, there were no open restaurants for evening meals. The only place open for lunch is not recommended. There should be restaurants opening in June.
Cozy little room, great water pressure, good price.

marshall- the fact that you assume the owner of two businesses would be a man tells me everything I need to know about you. I DO take one day off per week (how DARE I? I know, the nerve). The wifi wasn't turned off and the password was clearly marked on the note left for you on the door. no other customer complained about the wifi that night. Also- I answer my phone even on my time off. If you were struggling with how to spell my wifi password you should have called me. I am deeply sorry that you were insulted and injured by me leaving my motel to go to town for supplies- and I totally deserve to have my online ratings because of it. Thank you for clueing me in. From now on- I won't take a single day off from work ever again. i really needed a man to tell me that, so thanks!
