Harveys Resort & Casino

4.0 out of 5.0

Harveys is working hard to keep facilities up to date as the aging clock works against them. Facilities show signs of wear but overall are very appealing and the hotel room was extremely comfortable. The gym and pool facilities were nicely staff and maintained. I did not care for the "resort fee" charge for simple use of gym and pool. I have stayed here multiple times and will continue to do so for its casino amenities and convenience to shopping and South Lake Tahoe attractions.

Disgusting, smelly old rooms.

We were married in Harvey's Wedding Chapel 27 years ago and this was our first trip back. The rooms are well appointed as we remembered. Comfortable queen beds in our room as requested. We ate at the HRC which is a chain - food and drinks as expected. We played craps in the casino during the afternoon and found the casino staff helpful and patient since we don't play often and had to be reminded of some of the procedures when betting. Centrally located and has an outdoor pool. Also, close proximity to Lake Tahoe with a walking path to a state park. We reserved a dinner cruise on the MS Dixie which provides transportation directly from the transportation Center at Harvey's meaning we never had to move our car from the complimentary valet parking :) Hotel staff (with the exception of the Starbucks crew) were attentive, pleasant and friendly. Don't bother with the Starbucks if you have any other plans. They couldn't have been more apathetic and so slooooooowwwwwwwww. They obviously do not care to provide good customer service unlike the rest of the resort.

We had a good time but they hotel is dated.. The updated rooms were nice so make sure u get a luxury room otherwise you will be staying in your late grandmas apt

old beddings and horrible pillows, old feather pillows all the feathers are poked out and its very bad and uncomfortable.

This is an aged hotel. Sometimes would smell cigarette smoke in the room even though we were on a no smoking floor. They charged for internet, fitness room, pool with the 'resort' fees. I guess they weren't making enough in the casino.

Had a great time, everything was perfect. Clean hotel.

Didnt like that I had to pay the 25 resort fee for nothing.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room with comfortable

An older hotel but very clean and room is big by today's standard. Room was spotless with everything in working condition.

The room is outdated and the bed is so stiff that it destroyed my back.

Nice place. Upon arrival, upgraded for free to a deluxe lake view room. Very nice room, great views, clean, well kept as u would expect. No complaints.

I stay at Harvey's every time I come to South Lake Tahoe to ski. Great hotel; friendly staff; great location. 5-minute walk to the gondola at Heavenly Valley. Rent skis; purchase lift tickets; all right there at the gondola. Many wonderful restaurants in the village next to the gondola. Everything is easy! And Harvey's Casino has the best poker room in South Lake Tahoe. Ski during the day; play poker at night! Perfect vacation!

I stayed here from Wednesday to Saturday. The hotel elevators are a bit of a walk from the main hotel lobby which is inconvenient. As far as the room goes, it was small but clean. The pillows, sheets, and comforter were all great, but the mattress was not -- I woke up with sore back each night, though every body is different and I'm used to memory foam I guess. No coffee maker in the room which meant I was forced to pay exorbitant hotel lobby Starbucks prices for a cup of joe. Climate control in the room worked perfectly. The shower was fine, but the tub was pretty small. Could hear conversations in room next door due to connecting doors between the rooms not providing great sound insulation, and hallway noise a factor as well. Recommend bringing earplugs.

I had underestimated the price of this trip, I didn't realize you had to pay an additional $25 per night upon check out. I was shocked and furious when I learned about this. The manager did cut us a small break, though he was quite condescending about it. The woman checking us out kept a smile on her face the whole time - a class act! Overall I'd stay here again provided the price (all-in, that is) made sense!

Nice that it's close to the Gondola but other than, hotel is nothing great.

Enjoyed my stay. View was beautiful. Food was great! Only disappointment was the cigarette smell.

Great place for a good price. Definitely will back.

Stunning views from our room,(both the Lake and the gondola). Complimentary valet parking was great. Room service was great. The 19 restaurant at the top was excellent. We went to ski, not gamble. I don't know how it would be possible to to make it better. Moderately priced for convenient luxury.

Great staff, clean and spacious rooms, a short walk from Heavenly ski resort, free parking.
