Aloft Miami Dadeland3.5 out of 5.0

Made reservations at the ALOFT in the Miami Dadeland area, due to my impending surgery date. When making the reservation I was very clear I need a bit more room space since my husband would be with me and I would not know the condition of how I would feel after the surgery and we just needed a bit more space (seeing as there were no suites available) and everything in the area was sold out. Needless to say the room that was reserved was not what I received and of course the hotel was sold out, so no other rooms to move to. ALOFT is a millennial style hotel, minimalist in furniture, very dark (insufficient lighting), shower ran cold, slow internet minimum closet space, bedding was barely comfortable and again minimal. Yes, this would all fine, if I were paying MOTEL 8 prices, but at $300 a room night, it is unacceptable. I could have stayed anywhere in Miami, but chose to stay in the Dadeland area, since it was very very close to my sons home. Sometimes, hotels should come with a warning sign. One note on this review, the staff is very nice, but I also think they do not have the tools/skills to step outside the box for a Platinum Starwood member and provide or suggest moving to another property, anything to make it better. All other areas of the hotel, lobby, bar, pool/cabana areas, modern and nice. Hotel has early morning free "good" coffee, and hot/ cold breakfast around $8-9. If you think you are booking a boutique hotel, this is not the hotel for you.
Stayed one night in late July 2017 at this Hotel which used to be from another brand before. Got a ground floor room, which was nice, overlooking the back of the Hotel. The decor has the typical design of an Aloft, the service was very friendly, and courteous. I arrived at 1 am, had advised I was a late arrival and upon my arrival the receptionist had already been informed. Parking is ok, and the location in front of a small shopping center, right next to the expressway (which is not visible due to the trees) and almost in front of one of Miamis most important malls, Daldeland, make this a great option when you need to stay in the Kendall area.
Good price for a comfortable stay. Very helpful friendly service. Rooms were comfortable and all you needed. Convenient location for the area and Dadeland Mall. Also a variety of dining options within a short walk. Really appreciated the coffee available every morning in the lobby.
I give them the Maid service was awesome kept my room clean. One of the elevators was not working the whole 2 weeks we were here. Food over priced, the staff has been great. It is a noisy area but not the hotels fault. Site says room service which it doesn't. One washer and dryer for the whole hotel. A great Thai restaurant across the street. Very weird they have a DJ or a 2 person band on Thursdays for what reason. It's a shame I really like the A Loft chain of hotels.
Betty and Mariella are great employees.Really focused on the costumers. It does not matter the day, they are all ready to help in all your needs meanwhile you stay there. A great example os proffessionalism.Congratulations
Trips do not usually go well when the desk staff cannot find your reservation! And then when you show confirmation of your reservation they start telling you they do not have any rooms. Not my problem. So after 25 minutes at the front desk we are given a key for 508 which is right beside the elevator. Was not noisy, just not the best location. The room was not noisy because the elevator beside our room did not work for the 3 nights we were there. Try staying in a full hotel, with one of two elevators not working and you realize how important an elevator is to the smooth running of any hotel.
Staying for the night with my wife and kids because our home lost power during hurricane Irma and we couldn't get a room anywhere else close to our kids' schools. WHAT A MISTAKE. The AC rattles unbearably when it's running. The front desk clerk responded that all the hotel's AC's make the same noise. When it's off, the road noise is so loud that you would think the windows are wide open and we're on the 5th floor. Then there's the conversations either in the hallway or adjacent rooms. The kids can't get to sleep. It's 11PM. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!
As a Marriott brand, you won't be disappointed to find the rooms comfortable and clean. Very good size, modern décor. Hallways are a bit utilitarian but you won't have the problem of pulling your luggage on plush carpeting. Staff is friendly. Location is convenient walking distance to Dadeland Mall. Across the street is a nice Cuban coffee shop with lots of choices for breakfast or lunch. Starbucks in the same plaza as well as a TJ Maxx. $10 charge for overnight parking is cheaper than other nearby hotels where we had to valet park. Nice pool area but note that you will be in plain sight of anyone in the hotel lobby area. Lots of airline crews. I would stay here again.
I'd like to compliment the employee Iruma Ferrer for your kindness and all support that she gaves to all of us from Avianca Brazil crewmembers. She's always sweet and it mades our days! Thank you Iruma.
Dear friends, my name is Paulo Rigo and I work as a flight attendant in Avianca Brazil. I came here to write a compliment about Aloft Miami Dadeland hotel, it’s really one of the best hotels we’ve stayed before. I’d also like to focus on the sympathy of the people from the front desk, specially Iruma Ferrer, who is incredibly pretty and extremely simphatic with everyone. I’d like to congratulate you to hire such pleasant people working in the hotel, and Iruma is the greatest example of my compliment. Thanks for the attention, and I hope to stay there many times again.
